Sometimes I like to try watching low budget films, in this case the budget did not exceed a million and a half dollars, however, after having heard some good things about the film, the plot caught my attention, and a Youtube channel recommended it, so finally after a few weeks I decided to give Unsane a chance, and now I'll talk a little bit about it.

Plot
Sawyer Valentini, a young woman with paranoia, visits a psychiatric hospital because her life has become unbearable after being stalked, however, she will be forced to remain in the hospital against her will because she signed an authorization without reading documents.

Opinion
Sawyer Valentini is a good employee but is not satisfied with her life because a supposed stalker follows her, so she is forced to reduce her social life to a minimum, move out, and being subjected to a permanent sense of insecurity, which is why she visits the Highland Creek Behavioral Center, a psychiatric hospital where by mistake and without knowing it she agrees to stay for a day. Soon, when being locked up with other patients begins to increase their hysteria and paranoia, hits one of the staff of the hospital for which, against her will, her stay there will last for seven days, since according to the diagnosis she can represent a danger to others and to herself, however, the worst will be when she identifies one of the nurses as her stalker, starting a scenario in which the mental stability of the protagonist is questioned.
Before saying anything else I think the first thing I should mention is that this is a low budget film, the first thing that the viewer can appreciate is that the image and the shots made are very particular, the camera is set at unusual angles and its resolution is different, this is mainly because the film was made entirely with an iPhone 7 Plus. The first minutes did not impress me, I felt I had chosen the wrong film, that was because I did not know that the film was made with an iPhone, and I thought it was a low quality amateur work, however, the minutes went by and the movie improved a lot.
The direction work is good, Steven Soderbergh, director of films like Erin Brockovich and Ocean's Eleven and its sequels, manages to take the film forward in spite of its obvious technical limitations. It manages to convey a sense of anguish and that is something interesting, because it does not do so by introducing a large amount of fiction, but takes advantage of possible fears that the viewer might have, mainly, social condemnation, the fear that our mental health is in doubt, that nobody believes us, the fear that we will notice the wolf approaching, but instead of not being heard for having lied, not being heard because they think you're crazy and that everything you say is product of your imagination, until at some point you begin to think that you really have a problem of this kind.
The acting work is relatively good, especially the performance of Claire Foy who does what is necessary to make the story convincing, as for the rest, I would say that the work is in a range that goes from mediocre to acceptable, even so, as I said, the weight of the movie falls fundamentally on the protagonist.
If I had to question something of the film, apart from some performances, it would be some flaws of the script, the end did not fully convince me, although it is not too bad either, but I expected something better. However, despite its flaws the film is intriguing and at times very entertaining, makes the viewer want to know what will happen.

6/10
It is a moderately good film especially considering its limitations, it is not for all types of audiences, but without a doubt it is a good material if your goal is to see something different from the usual, especially at a technical level.
