"The Fantastic Four: First steps" is a Sci-Fi movie about four super-abled individuals. They become super-abled when they get exposed to radiation during a space exploration.

In my opinion, this movie is about family. The fantastic four are more like a family relying on their bond to survive challenges and overcome those challenges.
This movie is set in a retro futuristic version of earth. In that world, they advanced in science and technology at a much earlier period in their history.
In the movie, Sue Storm (invisible woman) finds out she's pregnant. She tells her husband, Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic). They in turn tell the others, Ben (the thing) who is Reed's best friend and Johnny Storm (Human Torch) who is Sue's brother.

The news of a child coming was obviously a source of joy for the family, but then, something happened.
Suddenly, a silver surfer showed up on earth. She tells everyone that earth is marked to be consumed by a powerful being she serves called Galactus.

More panic ensues after this. The fantastic four confirm that this threat is indeed real, and they decide to go to space to find Galactus and try to defeat him. However, things took a different turn when Galactus feels the power of the child in Sue's womb and asks for the child in return for Sparing earth.
That is a price too high to pay, so the family refuses and chaos ensues.

I like the graphics in this movie. The way Jonny storm bursts into flames is really cool. I love how the sci-fi and tech is displayed in this movie. I also love how galactus was depicted. They showed him to be an ultra gigantic figure who is actually capable of consuming planets.
When he came to earth specifically for Reed and Sue's son, he shrunk himself to be able to walk the earth, yet he was so big. This can be confirmed by a scene where Galactus stood tall and looked down on the statue of liberty.

The movie tried to pass a message. In the face of adversity, if everyone comes together, any adversity can be conquered. An extraterrestrial threat made every nation on earth to work together. Also, the fantastic four family worked together to protect the young child and defeat Galactus.

In my opinion, the acting was average. It wasn't bad. It was just good enough.
I loved the particular scene where the silver surfer came to earth. There was so much tension as everyone looked at her. The fantastic four family arrived the scene as protectors of earth, and she told everyone that their world is about to be destroyed. Johnny chases her but he is sent back down.

There's also a funny scene where Galactus threw Ben (the thing) so hard, he ended up in space and Johnny had to come save him.
This movie has moments with suspense. For example, Galactus wanted the little boy because the boy was so powerful, he was the only one who could take over Galactus' eternal hunger to feed on planets. It made me worried about how his family were going to protect him against an unstoppable being like galactus. Thankfully, the silver surfer came to their aid in the end and went against her master.
The movie has a simple story line. No complication. It's easy to understand and keep up with. The story unfolds perfectly and ends on a good note. Reed Richards was shown to be the smartest man alive and he felt the responsibility to protect his world and his son from the threat. He brainstormed a solution, and with the help of those around him, he achieved victory.
If you are a fan of sci-fi, action and movies about family, you'll definitely love this one.
