Presagio (Esp-Eng)

Presagio, a science/fiction film is directed by Alex Proyas, the same director who directed I, Robot. It counted with the participation of the actor Nicolas Cage. It was released in 2009.

This film tells the story of a before and an after. A before, because 50 years before in a school they were looking for ideas to leave something that children 50 years later read their letters, in them they would draw pictures of how they imagined that time would be 50 years later. A very particular girl named Lucinda, always fearful and considered strange, proposed the idea of the time capsule, which was accepted by all.

The task was for each child of that time to write a letter or draw a picture, this little girl left a message coded in numbers that she did not finish writing. The capsule was buried.

As stipulated, 50 years later the time capsule was opened and the teacher of that time was present at the celebration in spite of her advanced age.

This school is attended by Caleb, a boy who is hearing impaired and is the son of John Koestler (Nicolas Cage), his profession is a widowed professor of astrophysics, Caleb gets the letter from Lucinda. Caleb's father is astonished with what his son gives him and he doesn't understand the letter and says he doesn't know what to do.

He was struck by the letter and began to decipher the numbers on it. It turned out that they were predictions of catastrophes, some of which had already occurred and others were yet to come. One of the catastrophes was the accident where his wife died. Years before.

The professor gets in touch with Lucinda's only daughter, who does not believe anything he tells her, then she tells him that her mother's life was not at all pleasant and the way she died...they visited the house where she lived where the professor found some clues to understand the numbers on the chart.

Things happen that frighten the boy between dreams he observes men approaching his house. Later, this was not just dreams they were dressed in black suits that communicated by telepathy with the children.

Another prediction was that due to solar warming all life on Earth would disappear.

Lucinda's daughter dies, was one of the predictions in the letter. The men take the professor's son and Abby (who is the daughter of Lucinda's daughter), the professor, confused and scared, finds them. Caleb talks to his dad , reassures him and tells him that everything is fine and that he is not afraid, he invites him to go up to the ship where one of the strange characters physically does not allow him to enter and the boy tells him that he cannot go with him...they say goodbye ; with all his pain he wishes him the best and knows that he will be safe.

Upon entering the ship these strange men show a long and energetic figure...the ship took off and with it many more where they were taking children to another planet similar to Earth where it offers everything in a nice and pleasant way.

The professor returns with his parents and sister , reconciles with his father tells them that Caleb will be very well. The shockwave arrived where it wiped out all terrestrial life.

These types of movies based on fictional situations leave questions of how a situation of this type will be presented. In fact, predictions have always existed about life on Earth and what to expect, many ignore it and others have become more aware that there is life in other galaxies.
