A Monster Calls (en español, Un monstruo viene a verme) es una película hispano-estadounidense de fantasía de 2016 dirigida por Juan Antonio Bayona, basada en la novela de 2011 del mismo nombre de Patrick Ness, quien también escribió el guion. Esta película trae la historia de un niño que tras la separación de sus padres toma mas importancia su participación en el hogar. la madre del pequeño enferma, el niño enfrenta una serie de miedos, fobias, vive sus historias con el monstruo, en la escuela se burlan de el, el siempre esta solo con sus pensamientos.

La relación con su abuela no era nada agradable y no quiere vivir con ella.

El Monstruo dice que le contará a Conor tres historias durante sus próximas reuniones, después de lo cual Conor debe contarle al Monstruo una cuarta historia a cambio. La madre de Conor dibujaba y el heredó esa destreza. La madre del niño muere.

Conor regresa a la casa de su abuela, donde la antigua habitación de su madre se remodela para él. En la habitación, encuentra el antiguo libro de arte de su madre, que describe las historias que le contó el Monstruo, y un dibujo de su madre cuando era niña con el Monstruo.

Esta película refleja también ese mundo interior en cuanto a pensamientos, todas las historias que se tejen y una forma de llevar ese mundo interno para poder vivir en el mundo externo donde se desenvuelve.

This film brings the story of a boy who after the separation of his parents takes more importance his participation in the home. the mother of the little boy gets sick, the boy faces a series of fears, phobias, he lives his stories with the monster, at school he is teased, he is always alone with his thoughts.

The relationship with his grandmother was not at all pleasant and he does not want to live with her.

The Monster says he will tell Conor three stories during their next meetings, after which Conor must tell the Monster a fourth story in return. Conor's mother drew and he inherited that skill. The boy's mother dies.

Conor returns to his grandmother's house, where his mother's old room is remodeled for him. In the room, he finds his mother's old art book, which describes the stories the Monster told him, and a drawing of his mother as a child with the Monster.
