Writing review on a movie isn't as much fun as seeing the movie itself but I find it fulfilling to write a movie I've seen, making it seem like I'm seeing it over again (Well, kind of). I am a movie lover but specially for the ones that are recommended as "Interesting to see".
I'll be making a review on a movie I saw recently (It was actually my second time seeing it). I couldn't remember some scenes so I decided to recall by seeing the movie again when the opportunity presented itself.
Synopsis
A movie about a girl who couldn't have contact with the outside world or else, she dies. I've seen another movie like this but every movie with it's own uniqueness and I find this movie interesting especially with the fact that I learnt about something new through the movie.
The girl is said to have a disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). A disease that meant her immunity can not survive bacteria infection from anything and it led to her mum taking care of her away from the world in a closed environment.
The major part of this movie is in the title... She was deprived of everything outside the world and left to build her own world in her mother's house. Her staying away from the world made her learn everything online, became a genius with technology and had no friends.
The young girl meets a guy in her neighbourhood and on social media who she fell in love with and wished to be on the outside world in freedom with him.
The movie portrays a love that grew regardless of the limiting factor around it, the lovebirds made love seem like the answer to some health problem or maybe it is lol.
Main characters of the movie
Maddy Whitter is the female lead in the movie, a beautiful young girl who lives alone except when her mother or personal health and care giver comes visiting to check up on her.
She had to deal with her messed up immunity and live all her life in a house that her mother had prepared to keep her safe from the world. Her only wish was to see the ocean and the world outside the walls that had locked her in for 17years.
She fell in love with her neighbour, Olly who was also in love with her through their every day chats and longing for each other. Her love for him made her realized that she had not been living even though she was alive in her own world.
Maddy Whitter is starred by Amandla Stenberg, a 23 years old American actor and singer. This is the first movie I've seen where she starred in but she has starred in so many other movies since her teen age.
Olly Bright is the male lead in the movie, a guy who just moved into a new neighbourhood with his family and found someone who made living more interesting for him.
He had family challenges but the movie didn't show that aspect of his life as much as it did on Maddy and their love story. He is a handsome and very shy guy who found love in a girl that knew little or no knowledge of what it feels like outside her home.
Olly is starred by Nick Robinson, a 27 years old American actor. I'm yet to see another movie he starred on as recommended to me but I will soon.
Pauline Wright, the mother of Maddy Wright and I kinda got angry with her like her daughter for what she did (You will have to see the movie to find that out).
She lost her husband too early, had to take care of her child alone and then discovered the child had a disease that made her build a house for her daughter to grow in health (It was obvious she was a rich woman).
Her role was played by Anika Noni Rose, a 49 years old American actor. Not my first seeing her in a movie but I simply can't remember the last movie I saw that she starred in.
There are others who acted in the movie for sure but these three characters got my full attention in the movie.
My Opinion on the movie
Like I said in the beginning of this post, I had seen this movie before sometime ago before seeing it again recently. That is to prove that the movie is worth my time, and it will be worth my money if I had to go see it in a cinema.
The title didn't give out everything like many movies do sometimes. Even when I watched the movie half way, I was yet to understand why it was titled by the name but I got to understand later on. With this fact, I like the movie.
No suspense at all, except if I'm to give that credit to when Maddy had to keep the secret of letting Olly get inside the house from her mother (The mother found out anyways) so there wasn't any suspense for me. With this, I'll rate the movie a little lower because I love movies with a bit more suspense.
Each character especially the lead girl was perfect for their role and I love the genius spirit in her (my favourite part actually). I liked how well they presented the situation of living away from the world. Maddy learning everything from the online world and being a genius (She created a robot). Olly, Pauline and the care giver also did great in their acting that the world was a different experience entirely.
I also liked the part where Maddy explore a part of the world for the first time with the love of her life... She eloped with Olly and I kind of thought it would lead to her death but something unexpected happened (maybe this is the only suspense I'll say the movie had).
Finally, I'll rate the movie 7/10 and that is because I learnt about a new disease from it (As a microbiologist, I'm allowed to rate a movie with that right?) and for one of the music that was played in a scene. And for any other reason, you will find in my opinion.

Escribir una reseña de una película no es tan divertido como ver la película en sí, pero me resulta gratificante escribir una película que he visto, haciendo que parezca que la estoy viendo de nuevo (bueno, más o menos). Soy cinéfilo pero especialmente de los que se recomiendan como "Interesantes de ver".
Voy a hacer una reseña de una película que vi recientemente (en realidad, era la segunda vez que la veía). No podía recordar algunas escenas, así que decidí recordar viendo la película nuevamente cuando se presentara la oportunidad.
Sinopsis
Una película sobre una chica que no puede tener contacto con el mundo exterior o, de lo contrario, muere. He visto otra película como esta, pero cada película tiene su propia singularidad y encuentro esta película interesante, especialmente por el hecho de que aprendí algo nuevo a través de la película.
Se dice que una niña tiene una enfermedad llamada Inmunodeficiencia Combinada Severa (SCID). Una enfermedad que significó que su inmunidad no puede sobrevivir a la infección bacteriana de nada y llevó a su madre a cuidarla lejos del mundo en un ambiente cerrado.
La mayor parte de esta película está en el título... Se vio privada de todo lo que estaba fuera del mundo y se fue a construir su propio mundo en la casa de su madre. Su alejamiento del mundo hizo que aprendiera todo en línea, se convirtió en un genio con la tecnología y no tenía amigos.
La joven conoce a un chico en su vecindario y en las redes sociales de quien se enamoró y deseaba estar en el mundo exterior en libertad con él.
La película retrata un amor que creció sin importar el factor limitante que lo rodeaba, los tortolitos hacían que el amor pareciera la respuesta a algún problema de salud o tal vez lo sea jajaja.
Personajes principales de la película
Maddy Whitter es la protagonista femenina de la película, una hermosa joven que vive sola, excepto cuando su madre o su cuidador personal la visitan para ver cómo está.
Tuvo que lidiar con su inmunidad en mal estado y vivir toda su vida en una casa que su madre había preparado para mantenerla a salvo del mundo. Su único deseo era ver el océano y el mundo fuera de los muros que la habían encerrado durante 17 años.
Se enamoró de su vecino, Olly, quien también estaba enamorado de ella a través de sus charlas diarias y anhelándose el uno al otro. Su amor por él la hizo darse cuenta de que no había estado viviendo a pesar de que estaba viva en su propio mundo.
Maddy Whitter está protagonizada por Amandla Stenberg, una actriz y cantante estadounidense de 23 años. Esta es la primera película que veo en la que ella protagonizó, pero ha protagonizado muchas otras películas desde su adolescencia.
Olly Bright es el protagonista masculino de la película, un chico que acaba de mudarse a un nuevo vecindario con su familia y encontró a alguien que hizo que la vida le resultara más interesante.
Tuvo problemas familiares, pero la película no mostró tanto ese aspecto de su vida como lo hizo en Maddy y su historia de amor. Es un chico guapo y muy tímido que encontró el amor en una chica que sabía poco o nada de lo que se siente fuera de su casa.
Olly está protagonizada por Nick Robinson, un actor estadounidense de 27 años. Todavía tengo que ver otra película que protagonizó como me recomendaron, pero lo haré pronto.
Pauline Wright, la madre de Maddy Wright, y yo nos enfadamos un poco con ella como con su hija por lo que hizo (tendrás que ver la película para descubrirlo).
Perdió a su esposo demasiado pronto, tuvo que cuidar sola a su hijo y luego descubrió que el niño tenía una enfermedad que la obligó a construir una casa para que su hija creciera con salud (Era obvio que era una mujer rica).
Su papel fue interpretado por Anika Noni Rose, una actriz estadounidense de 49 años. No es la primera vez que la veo en una película, pero simplemente no puedo recordar la última película que vi que protagonizó.
Seguro que hay otros que actuaron en la película, pero estos tres personajes captaron toda mi atención en la película.
Mi opinión sobre la película
Como dije al comienzo de esta publicación, había visto esta película hace algún tiempo antes de volver a verla recientemente. Eso es para probar que la película vale mi tiempo, y valdrá mi dinero si tuviera que ir a verla a un cine.
El título no revelaba todo como hacen muchas películas a veces. Incluso cuando vi la película a mitad de camino, aún no entendía por qué se titulaba por el nombre, pero lo entendí más tarde. Con este hecho, me gusta la película.
Sin suspenso en absoluto, excepto si tengo que darle ese crédito a cuando Maddy tuvo que guardar el secreto de dejar que Olly entrara a la casa de su madre (la madre se enteró de todos modos) así que no hubo ningún suspenso para mí. Con esto, calificaré la película un poco más abajo porque me encantan las películas con un poco más de suspenso.
Cada personaje, especialmente la chica principal, era perfecto para su papel y me encanta el espíritu de genio en ella (en realidad, mi parte favorita). Me gustó lo bien que presentaron la situación de vivir lejos del mundo. Maddy aprendiendo todo del mundo en línea y siendo un genio (creó un robot). Olly, Pauline y el cuidador también lo hicieron muy bien en su interpretación de que el mundo era una experiencia completamente diferente.
También me gustó la parte en la que Maddy explora una parte del mundo por primera vez con el amor de su vida... Se fugó con Olly y pensé que la llevaría a la muerte, pero sucedió algo inesperado (tal vez este es el solo suspenso diré que tuvo la película).
Finalmente, calificaré la película con un 7/10 y eso se debe a que aprendí sobre una nueva enfermedad (como microbiólogo, puedo calificar una película con eso, ¿verdad?) y por una de las canciones que se reprodujeron en una escena Y por cualquier otra razón, encontrará en mi opinión.
