The Halloween day is drawing close and the contest is still on to find those scary and Halloween focused movies. I can't get enough of all the entries I've read about scary movies, even some of the reviews get me scared because of the images they paint in my head through writing haha. I've made a review of a drama I saw that fits into this contest theme, you can read about the review here and here is another I saw some months ago but had to see again for this review.
A sequel or like a character in the movie said, a requel of the Scream movies that have been released before. Even though there are bad reviews on this one, it's the first I saw and I didn't find it boring or usual like a review I read about it.

Scream is an horror movie directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett released in 2022. This isn't the first movie from the Scream film series, its a fifth but the first and only that I've seen. I'm not a fan of this kind of movies but I can't tell why I still have the movie in my phone until now since after the first watch.
A movie shouldn't be scary after first watch right? But this one got me scared over again.
About the movie and it's main characters

It starts with her alone in a house and chatting with her friend only to get a phone call from a stranger. We never got to see the mother the stranger asked after on the call but it was just a way to get her talking on the phone before the real deal began.
What's your favourite scary movie?
I'm not sure I'll answer this question if I'm asked after seeing this movie 😅 because that question led this character to having the worst day of her life, getting stabbed a very good number of times.
From a phone call to playing games to save her friend's life but almost getting killed.

Her role at the end of the movie was an highlight for me, she gave a shot at one of the serial killer and said a sentence that I find funny kinda... I still prefer "The Babadook" 😂 it's another scary movie she suggested when the killer said it was boring compared to "Stab".

The character who is among the teenagers as a friend but turned out to be a killer and a side kick to the serial killer. Her acting before it was revealed she was behind it was superb, I never guessed that she was anywhere close to being a killer until I got to the scene where she reveal herself to the others.
I couldn't guess when she's the one behind the mask but the movie tried to tell us that it was either her or the main killer who was behind the mask. She revealed herself at the end and almost killed the two women who came to save the teenagers.

She got burnt by fire but didn't die that easily, I wonder why the bad guys don't die too easily haha. This fire scene was another highlight for me even though I felt emotional about it but I preferred she died and she did later on after a shot.
She said something about "Being part of it to make a point to those who saw the movie as nonsense" it's funny but their reason for the serial killing was totally amusing.

Yeah, he's another and the main guy behind the killings. To think that he was trying to do a requel of the movie Stab but was actually seeing the movie again in the presence of his girlfriend got him off my list as one of the killers. He made sure to do everything without any suspicion until the last part.
Too bad he wasn't suspected until he had harmed a lot of them, and got them to the house where the first serial killing case first happened. Don't look at me weirdly when I say I kinda like him as the villain in the movie.
A funny villain he was in the movie and does his evil jokingly... Gave the scary movie another feeling for me.

I liked the fact that he didn't get his ending he had been working so hard and meticulously for... His main target to kill became the main character who got the ending that he was trying to win. He is stabbed to death a lot of times like he did to others.
I haven't seen much horror movies to know how they normally end but I've always thought that they end with tragedy but this one had a good ending, I felt good seeing everything coming to an end even though a few of the characters died in the process.

It turns out that another character played the masked killer part, not what I expected but it can be expected as the face wasn't shown in the movie until the end where they revealed their face.
There were other goofs in the movie like the camera man seen in the mirror while shooting a scene and soundtracks coming in at a time he shouldn't just to scare whoever is seeing the movie... Cool though!
I'll recommend this movie to only those who are yet to see any of the Scream film series because I hear there are better ones than this particular one so just be informed.
This is my entry to the Halloween contest and you're invited to participate as well.
