I'm not a big fan of Sci-Fi movies but I find myself seeing some because they are mostly full of actions, maths solving, amazing science work and many experiments. All that makes the movie interesting for me but this movie I saw recently was also a sci-fi movie but no much actions or math solving, but it had something to keep me hooked like other Sci-Fi movies do.
Moonshot is American romantic comedy with a sci-fi twist released in 2022. The movie was directed by Christopher Winterbauer and distributed by Warner Bros, Pictures. This movie was recommended to me by a friend and I confirmed that the movie was an interesting one to see... Maybe the romance in it got me more though or was it the Sci-Fi scenes?
Synopsis
Moonshot is about a young college boy who has always felt that he could do more in another planet and make earth even better, he would always talk about Mars and how fulfilling it would be for him to visit there. Aside his big dreams, he worked at a restaurant while studying at college.
He met a girl who helped to fuel his desire to visit Mars after she left him on earth, he got so determined to get there even though illegally which led him into an adventure in a rocket to Mars.
The movie is also about a young girl who's boyfriend lives at Mars and she was a science freak who finds joy in science than being with her mates and partying. She also got determined to go visit her boyfriend at Mars which took her on an adventure with a stranger who happened to be using her to get to Mars.
The movie also show a lot about how Mars looks like, the process on traveling with a rocket (How expensive it is) to Mars and dreams coming true but realising it wasn't actually the dream they wanted.
The romance part can't be excluded, the movie also shows two different people who never liked themselves or thought they had someone else, falling for each other as they venture to another planet to meet their significant partners.
A brief look to some characters in the movie...
Walt, is the lead character of the movie and the young guy with big dreams that were obviously out of reach for him. He loved everything about sci-fi and traveling to Mars but didn't have the opportunity until he met a girl.
Going on an adventure illegally was even more fun to him, he met another girl who he owe for a mistake he did in the past but he used her in getting to Mars which didn't end well for him later on.
Walt was starred by Cole Sprouse, an American actor and photographer. I've also seen other movies like "Five feet apart" which he started in.
Sophie, the lead girl in the movie who is so inlove with her boyfriend living in Mars, another planet from her. She is also a freak in science and sets out to go see her boyfriend in Mars after having some motivating talk with Walt.
Her adventure to Mars made her realized how much she loved so many things her boyfriend didn't like and she also fell in love with a stranger who happened to have been using her to get to Mars.
Sophie was starred by Lana Condor, an American actor, producer and a singer. I'm yet to see any other movie of her but "All the boys" was recommended, I'll see that soon.
Calvin, the boyfriend of Sophie who lives in Mars and he's popular for his looks, knowledge of science and ability to be focused. I can't tell if he loves Sophie as much as she does but I know for such that his family loves Sophie.
His identity was used by Walt while on the rocket to Mars, that way we got to know how awesome Calvin was at Mars without actually seeing him do the stuffs.
Calvin was starred by Mason Gooding, an American actor. He starred in "I want you back" which I've seen and also in "Scream" I'm yet to see this one but it's on my watch list.
My Thoughts on the movie
I didn't think much to start this movie and that was because the person who recommended has eyes for good movies but honestly, the movie wasn't that much to his standards as I had hoped... I thought it would be more thrilling and full of the sci-fi scenes (I know it's supposed to have just a little sci-fi twist) but I kind of wanted more.
The comedy part of this movie wasn't so bad, at least I caught myself smiling in one or two scenes but I wished it had more since there was a little of science craziness. I love to laugh when I'm not thrilled in a movie, that counts for me.
But about the little sci-fi scenes, I love love them. I mean, I was smiling with them when I see how beautiful it is in space and how different Mars is.
These are a few of my favourite scenes, most of my favourite scenes are where the sci-fi aspects of the movie was displayed.
Sophie's aluminium looking gown also caught my attention, she came up with the idea and designed it when they had to attend a party inside the rocket going to Mars. The looks on Walt's face when he saw her was so romantic if you know what I mean.
That's for the movie review and I'll rate it a 7/10 because I had expected more with the movie. Maybe you'd love it more to give it a higher rate but you could also love it less... Depends on you, just do add it to your watch list and get the full gist of the movie.
No soy un gran fanático de las películas de ciencia ficción, pero veo algunas porque en su mayoría están llenas de acción, resolución de problemas matemáticos, trabajo científico increíble y muchos experimentos. Todo eso hace que la película sea interesante para mí, pero esta película que vi recientemente también era una película de ciencia ficción, pero no tenía muchas acciones o resolución matemática, pero tenía algo que me mantenía enganchado como otras películas de ciencia ficción.

Sinopsis

Conoció a una chica que lo ayudó a alimentar su deseo de visitar Marte después de que ella lo dejara en la Tierra, estaba tan decidido a llegar allí aunque fuera ilegalmente, lo que lo llevó a una aventura en un cohete a Marte.
La película también trata sobre una joven cuyo novio vive en Marte y ella era una fanática de la ciencia que encuentra placer en la ciencia en lugar de estar con sus amigos y divertirse. También se decidió a visitar a su novio en Marte, lo que la llevó a una aventura con un extraño que la estaba usando para llegar a Marte.
La película también muestra mucho sobre cómo se ve Marte, el proceso de viajar con un cohete (Qué caro es) a Marte y los sueños que se hacen realidad, pero se dan cuenta de que en realidad no era el sueño que querían.
La parte romántica no se puede excluir, la película también muestra a dos personas diferentes que nunca se gustaron o pensaron que tenían a alguien más, enamorándose el uno del otro mientras se aventuran a otro planeta para conocer a sus parejas importantes.
Un breve vistazo a algunos personajes de la película...
Walt, es el personaje principal de la película y el joven con grandes sueños que obviamente estaban fuera de su alcance. Le encantaba todo lo relacionado con la ciencia ficción y viajar a Marte, pero no tuvo la oportunidad hasta que conoció a una chica.
Emprender una aventura ilegalmente fue aún más divertido para él. Conoció a otra chica a la que debe por un error que cometió en el pasado, pero la usó para llegar a Marte, lo que no terminó bien para él más tarde.
Walt fue protagonizado por Cole Sprouse, un actor y fotógrafo estadounidense. También he visto otras películas como "Five feet apart" en la que empezó.

Calvin, el novio de Sophie que vive en Marte y es popular por su apariencia, conocimiento de la ciencia y capacidad de concentración. No puedo decir si ama a Sophie tanto como ella, pero sé que su familia ama a Sophie.
Su identidad fue utilizada por Walt mientras estaba en el cohete a Marte, de esa manera supimos lo increíble que era Calvin en Marte sin verlo hacer las cosas.
Calvin fue protagonizado por Mason Gooding, un actor estadounidense. Protagonizó "I want you back" que he visto y también "Scream" Todavía tengo que ver este pero está en mi lista de seguimiento.
Mis pensamientos sobre la película
No pensé mucho en comenzar esta película y eso fue porque la persona que me recomendó tiene ojos para las buenas películas pero, sinceramente, la película no estaba tan a la altura de sus estándares como esperaba... Pensé que sería más emocionante. y lleno de escenas de ciencia ficción (Sé que se supone que tiene un pequeño toque de ciencia ficción) pero quería más.
La parte de comedia de esta película no fue tan mala, al menos me sorprendí sonriendo en una o dos escenas, pero desearía que tuviera más, ya que había un poco de locura científica. Me encanta reír cuando no estoy emocionado con una película, eso cuenta para mí.
Pero sobre las pequeñas escenas de ciencia ficción, me encantan. Quiero decir, estaba sonriendo con ellos cuando vi lo hermoso que es el espacio y lo diferente que es Marte.
Estas son algunas de mis escenas favoritas, la mayoría de mis escenas favoritas son donde se muestran los aspectos de ciencia ficción de la película.
El vestido con aspecto de aluminio de Sophie también me llamó la atención, se le ocurrió la idea y lo diseñó cuando tenían que asistir a una fiesta dentro del cohete rumbo a Marte. La mirada en el rostro de Walt cuando la vio fue tan romántica si sabes a lo que me refiero.
Eso es para la reseña de la película y la calificaré con un 7/10 porque esperaba más de la película. Tal vez le gustaría más darle una tarifa más alta, pero también podría amarlo menos... Depende de usted, solo agréguelo a su lista de observación y obtenga la esencia completa de la película.
