"The Odd Life of Timothy Green" Review

Review by @merit.ahama 🏆#87 🔥4 🎵13 🎬81 📺119 · 10h · of The Odd Life of Timothy Green · 1 view

I'm slowly exhausting my new watch list and this movie was one of the two I saw yesterday, with my cousin. We've been having lots of movie time since I got the long list of movies downloaded. It's surprising how every movie I decide to see turns out really good, unexpectedly really good.

Maybe it's because they are mostly old release. Because I've been seeing the ones from over 10 years ago and I'm loving every bit of it. Although, I do see some new release but mostly nollywood and I've got no plans yet to review them. For now, expect more of old movie reviews from me hehe.

So here's a review of the 2012 movie titled "The Odd Life of Timothy Green", a fantasy and family drama starring Jennifer Garner as Cindy Green, Joel Edgerton as Jim Green, CJ Adams as Timothy Green. A story of a childless couple who made a wish of what their child should have and they meet Timothy, a little boy from the garden.

The story begins with Cindy and Jim telling the story of their son Timothy, how it all begins. After the news from their doctor that they can not bear their own child, the couple is devastated and to ease their pains, they started to write on small papers what they want their child to be like. They decided to bury their wishes in a box in the ground and they went to sleep feeling a lot better.

It began to rain heavily, the ground they had dug began to open up and while Jim was checking the doors to confirm they were locked, he noticed someone passed by him. That night, the couple received a visitor in the person of Timothy who introduces himself as one who came from the garden and referred to them as his mum and dad.

Out of excitement and joy, the couple decided to keep Timothy as their son and began to do all they can to be the best kind of parents as they navigate new situations in raising a child who seem to have all the qualities they have written on the paper before. Timothy is only an adorable child to his new parents but he seem to have something going on for him and his leg of leaves.

I love how the story didn't give out too much for me to easily predict what would happen next, it made it an interesting watch especially as we anticipate what Timothy was up to with the leaves dying off his legs. I also can mot emphasise enough how dramatic Cindy and Jim were in parenting, especially at the beginning and when he decided to start schooling like others.

I also like the random jokes, unexpected turnouts, the little romantic moments between Timothy and his only friend, the back and front of Cindy and Jim. The movie is a whole pack for family time, it covers beautiful genres while keeping viewers interested in what could happen next and I'll highly recommend you see it if you're yet to.
