Hola hive, hoy les vengo a hablar de una película bastante peculiar que vi hace unos días ya que cuando salen películas de este estilo y veo que la gente empieza hablar de ellas, sin duda me dan ganas de verla para poder determinar por mi propia cuenta si es una buena película o no, así que por esta razón es que hoy les vengo a dar mi reseña y opinión sobre Bottoms.
Bottoms es una película de comedia adolescente lanzada en el 2023, dirigida por Emma Seligman y protagonizada por Rachel Sennott y Ayo Edebiri. La película nos muestra a una pareja de chicas que crean un grupo para poder defenderse de los chicos que las molestan, pero al final esto es un simple pretexto para acercarse al grupo de animadoras. Ya habiendo dado un poco de contexto ahora si comencemos!
Primero siempre me gusta empezar hablando de lo que más me encanto de la película y en este caso sin duda es su humor, para los que ya han leído algunas de mis reseñas saben que uno de mis géneros favoritos es la comedia y aprecio mucho conseguir películas (o series) que realmente me saquen una risa y Bottoms lo logro, esta película maneja un humor adolescente y un tanto “tonto” pero realmente funciona, esta muy bien logrado y de una forma inteligente, así que sin duda considero esto como uno de sus aspectos más fuertes.
También me gustaría destacar la actuación de las protagonistas (y de todo el cast en general), siento que logran darle una identidad bastante cool a cada uno de sus personajes y eso se siente, ademas como Rachel Sennot también fue parte de la escritura de la película, se nota que tenía bastante claro que era lo que quería con su personaje (y con los que la rodeaban).
Que tenga buenas actuaciones y personajes con características tan fuertes es lo que hace que una comedia sea realmente interesante, ya que la situaciones que viven los personajes aunque son absurdas son muy simples, pero lo que hace que una comedia sea comedia es ver como cada uno de estos personajes afronta dicha situación, es ahí lo que nos da risa y siento que Bottoms sin duda es un claro ejemplo de esto.
Últimamente disfruto cuando una película dura menos de 2 horas, porque hace que sea mucho más digerible y que no se nos haga tan pesada a la hora de ver, obviamente hay películas que requieren ser extensas porque su historia lo amerita, pero también conozco muchas películas que siento que su duración es innecesaria, en esta caso Bottoms dura 1 hora y media, y me parece perfecta, logra hacernos empatizar con los personajes pero también va directo al grano sin necesidad de dar muchas vueltas, así que si, actualmente esto es algo que agradezco.
Siempre intento tocar aspectos objetivos en mi reseñas porque siento que así las personas pueden sacar sus propias conclusiones y decir si la quieren ver o no, pero ahora si me voy por un lado subjetivo la verdad es que está película me encanto, entiendo con no tiene una gran innovación y tampoco es una obra maestra, pero en ningún momento pretende serlo, solo busca divertir y entretener y sin duda lo logra de principio a fin.
En conclusión me parece una gran película, muy divertida y súper fácil de ver, sin duda la vería otra vez porque si me saco unas buenas risas y al final eso exactamente era lo que buscaba, tenía unas expectativas bastante neutrales pero después de que la vi que contento, por lo está totalmente recomendada!

Hi hive, today I come to talk about a rather peculiar movie I saw a few days ago because when movies of this style come out and I see that people start talking about them, it certainly makes me want to see it to be able to determine for my own account if it is a good movie or not, so for this reason is that today I come to give you my review and opinion about Bottoms.
Bottoms is a teen comedy movie released in 2023, directed by Emma Seligman and starring Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri. The film shows us a couple of girls who create a group in order to defend themselves against boys who pick on them, but in the end this is merely a pretext to get closer to the cheerleading squad. Having given a little context, now let's get started!
First I always like to start talking about what I loved the most about the movie and in this case is undoubtedly its humor, for those who have already read some of my reviews know that one of my favorite genres is comedy and I really appreciate getting movies (or series) that really make me laugh and Bottoms did it, this movie handles a teenage humor and a little "silly" but it really works, it is very well done and in a smart way, so I certainly consider this as one of its strongest aspects.
I would also like to highlight the performance of the main characters (and the whole cast in general), I feel that they manage to give a pretty cool identity to each of their characters and that is felt, also as Rachel Sennot was also part of the writing of the film, you can tell that she was quite clear about what she wanted with her character (and those around her).
Having good performances and characters with such strong characteristics is what makes a comedy really interesting, because the situations that the characters go through, even though they are absurd, are very simple, but what makes a comedy is to see how each of these characters faces the situation, that's what makes us laugh and I feel that Bottoms is a clear example of this.
Lately I enjoy when a movie lasts less than 2 hours, because it makes it much more digestible and not so heavy to watch, obviously there are movies that need to be long because their story deserves it, but I also know many movies that I feel their length is unnecessary, in this case Bottoms lasts 1 hour and a half, and I find it perfect, it manages to make us empathize with the characters but also goes straight to the point without giving many turns, so yes, currently this is something I appreciate.
I always try to touch on objective aspects in my reviews because I feel that people can draw their own conclusions and say if they want to see it or not, but now if I go for a subjective side the truth is that I loved this movie, I understand that it does not have a great innovation and it is not a masterpiece, but at no time does it pretend to be, it only seeks to amuse and entertain and certainly succeeds from start to finish.
In conclusion I think it's a great movie, very funny and super easy to watch, no doubt I would see it again because if I got a good laugh and in the end that's exactly what I was looking for, I had fairly neutral expectations but after I saw it I was very happy, so it is totally recommended!
