Hola hive, hoy les vengo a hablar sobre una película que aunque es un clásico y es bastante reconocida nunca había tenido la oportunidad de ver, pero hace unos días tomé la iniciativa de por fin echarle un vistazo a ver que tal, por esta razón es que hoy les vengo a hablar de Goodfellas
Goodfellas es una película sobre Mafia lanzada en el 1990, dirigida por el gran Martin Scorsese y protagonizada por Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco y Paul Sorvino. Esta película está basada en un libro llamado Wiseguy de Nicholas Pileggi el cual narra hechos reales. Ya habiendo dado un poco de contexto ahora si comencemos!
Primero siempre me gusta empezar hablando de lo que más me encanto de la película y en este caso sin duda es la estética en sí, siempre me han llamado la atención la estética de las películas de mafiosos y esto junto a la visión de la dirección de Martin Scorsese crea una dupla muy interesante visualmente hablando, desde la primera escena ya podemos ver el potencial visual de esta película.
La historia me sorprendió bastante, más pensando en que es una historia basada en hechos reales, es decir así sea un pequeño porcentaje de lo sucedido es realidad y ver como hay situaciones tan crudas y fuertes, nos hace adentrarnos cada vez más en la vida de los personajes principales hasta cierto punto de crearnos “ansiedad” para ver cómo va a terminar cada uno de ellos.
Admito que es una película a la que le tenemos que dedicar el 100% de nuestra atención, ya que hay muchos personajes y muchos bandos, así que hay que estar muy pendiente para poder seguirle el hilo a la historia y disfrutarla como se debe, o sino vamos a estar perdidos en cada una de las escenas, así que como recomendación, préstenle bastante atención y conozcan todos los personajes.
En cuanto al cast no tengo ninguna queja, cada uno hace un trabajo perfecto y eso se nota en el resultado final, cada uno de los protagonistas le da vida a su personaje de una forma excepcional y en este tipo de películas es fundamental, ya que realmente lo que mantiene el ritmo de la película son las actuaciones y los diálogos.
Goodfellas es una película relativamente larga, sin embargo en lo personal no siento que ningún momento se sienta pesada ya que en cada escena sucede algo y hay que estar hilando cada uno de los hechos, además de que hay cosas que suceden muy rápido y una tras otra, manteniéndonos siempre super enganchado a la película, así que si, aunque estoy claro de que es una película “larga”, no es fastidiosa.
Hay muchas escenas de esta película que me encantan, Martín Scorsese hizo un gran trabajo dirigiendo esta película, cada plano secuencia me parece genial y general todas las escenas tienen una perspectiva bastante cool que siento que hace que la experiencia final de ver esta película sea mucho más completa.
Algo que también me pareció bastante curioso de Goodfellas es que no tiene una premisa que va de un punto A a un punto B, sino que cada personaje tiene su propio arco y son situaciones en conjunto que los van convirtiendo constantemente en “mejores” o “peores” personas, además de poder ver como van creciendo en el mundo de la Mafia. Asi Que por esta razón siento que dar un resumen o la premisa de esta película es complicado porque no la siento tan definida, pero esta me gusta porque le da cierta originalidad.
Siempre había escuchado sobre esta película y siempre me había llamado la atención pero al ser antigua a veces es difícil de conseguir, sin embargo ahora que la vi admito que valió la pena, hay otras películas con la misma temática que tengo pendiente y también me gustaría echar un vistazo a la carrera cinematográfica de Martin Scorsese porque tengo entendido que tiene joyitas.
En conclusión una gran película que sin duda volvería a ver varias veces, es entretenida, tiene momentos divertidos y buenos diálogos que nos mantienen enganchados, sin duda no tenia altas expectativas pero me lleve una grata sorpresa porque la disfrute mucho, sin duda podría entrar dentro de mis películas favoritas, totalmente recomendada!

Goodfellas is a Mafia movie released in 1990, directed by the great Martin Scorsese and starring Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino. This movie is based on a book called Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi which narrates real events. Having given a little context, now let's get started!
First I always like to start talking about what I love the most about the movie and in this case it is certainly the aesthetics itself, I have always been attracted to the aesthetics of mobster movies and this together with the vision of Martin Scorsese's direction creates a very interesting duo visually speaking, from the first scene we can already see the visual potential of this film.
I was quite surprised by the story, especially considering that it is a story based on real events, that is to say, even a small percentage of what happened is reality and seeing how there are so raw and strong situations, makes us go deeper and deeper into the lives of the main characters to a certain point of creating "anxiety" to see how each one of them will end.
I admit that it is a movie to which we have to devote 100% of our attention, as there are many characters and many sides, so you have to be very attentive to follow the thread of the story and enjoy it as it should, or else we will be lost in each of the scenes, so as a recommendation, pay close attention and know all the characters.
As for the cast I have no complaints, each one does a perfect job and that shows in the final result, each of the protagonists gives life to his character in an exceptional way and in this type of film is essential, because what really keeps the pace of the film are the performances and dialogues.
Goodfellas is a relatively long movie, however personally I don't feel that any moment feels heavy as in every scene something happens and you have to be spinning each of the facts, plus there are things that happen very fast and one after another, keeping us always super hooked to the movie, so yes, although I am clear that it is a "long" movie, it is not annoying.
There are many scenes in this movie that I love, Martin Scorsese did a great job directing this movie, every sequence shot looks great to me and overall all the scenes have a pretty cool perspective that I feel makes the final experience of watching this movie that much more complete.
Something that I also found quite curious about Goodfellas is that it doesn't have a premise that goes from point A to point B, instead each character has their own arc and are situations together that are constantly making them "better" or "worse" people, plus you can see how they grow in the world of the Mafia. So for this reason I feel that giving a summary or the premise of this movie is complicated because I don't feel it is so defined, but I like this one because it gives it some originality.
I had always heard about this movie and it had always caught my attention but being old it is sometimes difficult to get, however now that I saw it I admit that it was worth it, there are other films with the same theme that I have pending and I would also like to take a look at the film career of Martin Scorsese because I understand that he has jewels.
In conclusion a great movie that I would definitely see again several times, it is entertaining, it has funny moments and good dialogues that keep us hooked, I certainly did not have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised because I enjoyed it a lot, it could certainly enter into my favorite movies, totally recommended!
