Hola hive, hoy les vengo a hablar sobre una serie que desde que fue anunciada me llamo la atención por diversos factores, y después de una espera por fin llegó la hora de ver el capítulo 5, y dar mi opinión al respecto, por eso es que hoy les quiero hablar de nada más y nada menos que The Last Of Us
The Last Of Us es una serie lanzada en el 2023 basada en el videojuego homónimo que fue lanzada en el 2013 para PlayStation, es una seria de HBO escrita por Craig Mazin, Neil Druckmann y protagonizada por Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsay y Gabriela Luna. Me atrevería a decir que es uno de los lanzamientos más recientes y relevantes de HBO y por eso es que quiero dar mi opinión sobre el Episodio 5 de la Temporada 1. Dicho esto comencemos!
De verdad que lo que está haciendo esta serie es bastante impresionante, no solo está logrando una adaptación bastante buena de una historia de un videojuego sino que ademas aunque ya sepamos la historia igual logra darle una que otra vuelta para darle frescura e igual sorprendernos con cada situación, a lo largo de los capítulos que han ido saliendo nos hemos dado cuenta que aunque es bastante fiel al material original cuando es necesario no lo piensa dos veces en profundizar en algunos aspectos siento este capítulo uno de estos casos.
Primero me gusta empezar hablando de lo que más me encanto del episodio y en este debo admitir que el inicio es impresionante, esa forma de contar y mostrarnos un mismo momento pero desde diferente perspectiva siempre me ha parecido genial, es un recurso bastante interesante que esta serie logra aprovechar en este intro.
Admito que estoy totalmente sorprendido de la capacidad que tiene esta serie para introducir personajes en un solo episodio, en un mismo episodio nos cuentan su origen, sus objetivos y aparte le dan un desenlace, mucha de las series no logran esto en varios capítulos y The Last Of Us es capaz de hacerlo en un solo, haciéndonos ademas empatizar con cada uno de ellos para que así dejemos salir nuestra parte más sentimental.
En este capítulo nos muestran a Henry y a Sam que se unen a nuestros protagonistas para lograr un bien en común que es huir de la ciudad donde están atrapados, pero aunque al principio nos muestran a Henry como un simple soplón la verdad es que historia va mucho más allá de esto, sin embargo sus ganas de mantener a su hermano Sam a salvo es mas que cualquier cosa. al principio cuando aparece Henry y Sam parecen personajes simples que van a ayudar a nuestros protagonistas a llegar a su objetivo, pero como si esto no fuese suficiente deciden contarnos todo lo que rodea a cada uno de ellos dandole mucho mas sentido a cada una de sus acciones.
Ahora mis partes favoritas del episodio es ver a San y Ellie llevarse tan bien y divertirse en medio del fin del mundo, nos da esa sensación de que aunque todo esté mal los niños logran verle lo divertido al asunto, se toman su tiempo para jugar, compartir y crear una amistad genial que sera clave para el final del episodio.
Al final del episodio podemos observar como Ellie adquiere una vibra más seria recibiendo nuevamente una bofetada de la realidad y que no importa lo que pase no se pueden desviar de su objetivo principal, así que sin pensarlo dos veces decide continuar con esta aventura apocalíptica.
Como ya dije siento que el avance del personaje de Ellie en este episodio es bastante grande, siento que marca un antes y un después en ella, en cuanto a Joel ya es evidente el cariño que le tiene a Ellie y ya nos da a entender que más que una carga, más que una cura, es su responsabilidad, es su “hija”, marcando así probablemente la dinámica y química que tendrán estos personajes en episodios posteriores.
Este capítulo tiene de todo un poco, miembros de acción y tensión pero obviamente no deja de lado ese lado sentimental que también caracteriza a esta seria, es un capítulo con escenas bastante apegadas al videojuego pero con uno que otro cambio que le da frescura a la serie.
De verdad que esta serie no decepciona, siento que es capítulo va muy de la mano con el anterior, es más tanto así que siento que se podría tomar como uno solo, pero en términos generales es un excelente capítulo con momentos interesantes y momentos claves para el desarrollo de la historia. En conclusión una joyita más que nos muestra The Last Of Us!

Really what this series is doing is quite impressive, not only is achieving a pretty good adaptation of a story of a video game but also even if we already know the story still manages to give it a twist or two to give it freshness and still surprise us with every situation, throughout the chapters that have been coming out we have realized that although it is quite faithful to the original material when necessary does not think twice about deepening in some aspects being this chapter one of these cases.
First I like to start talking about what I loved most about the episode and in this one I must admit that the beginning is impressive, that way of telling and showing us the same moment but from a different perspective has always seemed great to me, it is a very interesting resource that this series manages to take advantage of in this intro.
I admit that I am totally surprised by the ability of this series to introduce characters in a single episode, in a single episode we are told their origin, their goals and also give them a denouement, many of the series do not achieve this in several chapters and The Last Of Us is able to do it in one, making us also empathize with each of them so that we let out our most sentimental part.
In this chapter we are shown Henry and Sam who join our protagonists to achieve a common good which is to flee the city where they are trapped, but although at first we show Henry as a simple snitch the truth is that history goes far beyond this, however his desire to keep his brother Sam safe is more than anything. At the beginning when Henry and Sam appear they seem like simple characters that are going to help our protagonists to reach their goal, but as if that wasn't enough they decide to tell us everything that surrounds each of them giving much more sense to each of their actions.
Now my favorite parts of the episode is seeing San and Ellie getting along so well and having fun in the middle of the end of the world, it gives us that feeling that even though everything is bad the kids manage to see the fun in it, they take their time to play, share and create a great friendship that will be key for the end of the episode.
At the end of the episode we can see how Ellie acquires a more serious vibe receiving again a slap in the face of reality and that no matter what happens they cannot deviate from their main goal, so without thinking twice she decides to continue with this apocalyptic adventure.
As I said I feel that the progress of Ellie's character in this episode is quite big, I feel that it marks a before and after in her, as for Joel it is already evident the affection he has for Ellie and already gives us to understand that more than a burden, more than a cure, it is his responsibility, she is his "daughter", thus marking probably the dynamic and chemistry that these characters will have in later episodes.
This chapter has a little bit of everything, action and tension but obviously does not leave aside the sentimental side that also characterizes this series, it is a chapter with scenes quite attached to the video game but with one or another change that gives freshness to the series.
I feel that this chapter goes hand in hand with the previous one, so much so that I feel that it could be taken as one, but in general terms it is an excellent chapter with interesting moments and key moments for the development of the story. In conclusion, one more jewel that shows us The Last Of Us!
