Good Will Hunting is a remarkable film I have watched for a long time. This one was on my watchlist for a long time and I was away from movies for a few months and here I start again. So I thought of starting with the watchlist I already had and thought of giving it a try as it got so many positive reviews and such huge IMDb ratings too.
This is a film from 1997, directed by Gus Van Sant, written by Affleck and Damon. The story is pretty straightforward, anyone would easily grasp it at the start but the whole movie had a deep influence on us.
A boy who we would be seeing works on M.I.T as a janitor, and hanging out with friends in his free time. The surprising part is when we see him solving math left outside of the classes on the board open to all the brainiest graduate students. No students could solve it but he did it anonymously, teachers couldn't find who solved it. Another math was placed in the same place but this time the teacher saw this boy drawing something on the board and walked towards him and he left while yelling at the teacher. He solved it again, a tough one that even those teachers struggle to solve, he did in a zippy.

A god-gifted talent but indifferent to this virtue. If someone is gifted with extraordinary talent, he or she should bring the best out of it. Here we would see him, by the way, his name is Will Hunting. Will is more likely to enjoy his free time drinking with his friends, fighting with people for which he got a huge rap sheet.
The whole story is on how to bring his talent to use, that Professor Gerald Lambeau tries to co-operate to make him great, wants to prove his talent to the world but Will is indifferent. He doesn't want any academic recognition. He doesn't cooperate with the therapy sessions which makes things worse for the professor when he took him under his supervision out of the jail. But you know, there is always some person who knows us, we get connected through trust and loyalty and unwrap our struggles and fears to them. Same did Will with Sean, that's the change he got through him, he was the light that brought him out of the darkness he kept hold of so long. Am I giving a spoiler? Well, this movie got more to realize than to decide if I have got spoilers or not.
We would see love, departure, and their impacts on their life. How these have influenced their paths, what's the priority they got. There was a friend of Will, both of them worked together and Chuckie always wished to see Will out of here, to his rightful place where he deserves by his talent. Some dialogues would touch through your heart.
Throughout the whole movie, we saw few people that believed in Will, on his extraordinary talent. All they wanted was to make him realize the potential he possesses and bring him on the right path to use that as it was meant to be.
I would highly recommend this one to everyone who hasn't watched it yet.
