Thriller movies are quite difficult for me to write about. I always try to not give any spoilers because it can ruin all of the fun. Sometimes it happens that I don't even want to watch the trailer, hahaha. Because that gives some possible points that could happen and I also try to make some possible outcome with the moving story. Sometimes they do come out as we predict and sometimes it does rotate completely in another way, that's where the thrill lies. I haven’t watched the trailer before this one too, got a recommendation and sat down to watch it. I love twists, predictions going wrong, turns that blow our minds.
Oxygen (2021) is a French physiological survival horror film from Netflix directed and produced by Alexandre Aja. On the lead role, we get to see Melanie Laurent as Elizabeth 'Liz' Hansen. Here nothing paranormal is shown. When the movie starts, we get to see a lady whose whole body was sealed and came out of that via struggling. But she was equipped with a lot of medical equipment from the top of her body to the bottom. She found herself trapped in a cryogenic unit. On top of that, the oxygen supply of that unit was corrupted and was reducing rapidly. It had an A.I too named MILO which was interacting with her throughout the whole movie and she was named Omicron 267 on the database. She tried to command the A.I to unlock the unit but it does need administrative codes to perform that action which she doesn’t have. Even though she was hardly remembering anything. So till now, it looks like a simple survival movie, with no complexity in it.
There were some random short clips of hospitals too. Which helped us to create a story in our mind that someone was hospitalized. And her cryogenic unit got corrupted and how will she survive that's the question to get answered. In some parentages this is true and in the other parts, it's been way far from our guess, personally for me. Trust me, it's far deeper than that though, it has love, a secret mission, extinction of humankind and so much which will tell you why this is in the sci-fi genre. The whole time I was watching, I didn't look at the runtime that how much time is gone or left which I usually do. The more I was watching the more I was getting curious about the new things coming before my eyes. The oxygen level was reducing gradually and the suspension level of the movie was rising on and on. You would get a lot more than I have said here.
People who love to watch sci-fi, survival, thriller-type movies must go for it. Even you would find love in it. How can you love someone with whom you haven’t talked, met, smelled, or touched? Just got some memories and you feel the love equal to a sea. She would like to live at least for her love. The question is, will she be able to survive or not? Watch it guys! It's an outstanding one. I really loved it. Personally, I would like to rate it 8.5 out of 10. Happy watching.
