Ready Or Not (2019)- The wedding night.

Review by @minhajulmredol · 1922d · of Ready or Not

Ready or Not is a comedy horror movie directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. This was on my watch list for a long time but didn’t get the time to finish it. So last night I just finished watching and started to write about it.

So that's based on a marriage and some ritual of a great family named 'Le Domas Domination'

Grace and alex who are finally getting married and that's a love marriage. Though she is dreaming about the wealth while marrying. Ah the beautiful bride with a white dress and was really looking gorgeous. While alex and grace talking with one another on the wedding day, Daniel came inside the room, alex's brother. He did some fun and advised grace, "It's not too late to flee, you don't belong to this family." On hearing this i couldn’t understand why he told that to his brother's would be wife on the wedding day. After a few minutes alex too mention something like this that they still can flee from here, grace could get an out from the wedding. But grace wanted to be all way in. Doesn’t this conversation seem to be something illogical on a wedding day?

Whatever the beautiful couple got married and did their photoshoot and jumped to their wedding night. They couldn’t have any fun because from the bed grace got a sight of alex's aunt in their room through the mirror. Grace couldn’t figure out how the hell she got inside the room at that moment. She invited them for the game. Game? At a wedding night? Yes. That's the ritual of that family for all the new members who come to that family. This family made all their wealth through games so they follow this ritual.

Bride and groom came to everyone and they entered a restricted room which is only allowed for the family members. They grace got a sight of their family background history in some photos. A round table with all the family members and grace got a seat too. Alex was nervous with the game but grace was excited to play it. Alex father did tell some family history among the members as usual they repeat it and grace started to hear very cautiously. There was a mysterious box from their ancestors. Whenever the family is introduced with a new member they play the game.

Where they put a blank play card into the box and the new member will draw the card and Mr. Le Bail (from whom alex ancestor won this mysterious box through a wager) will tell them which game to play. Grace drew a card and it turned out to be "Hide and Seek". Alex and everyone's eyes were filled with shock but nobody revealed any expression where alex just said " Those are the rules". Before grace goes for hiding alex whispered in her ears to meet him at the room but maybe she didn’t hear that properly.

Cctv cameras are turned off for the whole mansion and music started to play

Who wants to play a game Its time for hide and seek Run! Run! Run! Time to run and hide.

So their belief is, whoever pulls out the hide and seek card need to be killed before dawn through the hide and seek game. Yes! Need to be killed. Grace is gone for hiding and the rest of all with guns and weapons will search for her and kill her. Alex couldn’t openly go against her family.

So the question is will grace be able to stay alive till dawn? If she got alive then they would die as per their beliefs. No way to exit from the gigantic mansion. Here the game begins on the first wedding night, so much thrill and shocking moments that i don't wanna give spoilers. But you know i got crushed on her and really want her to win the hide and seek game.

Runtime 1 hour and 35 minutes, not a time killing one because you will be in the thrill and won't realise who did the time go. Btw i would like to suggest @surrealfia and @shahinaubl apu to watch the movie and imagine such a wedding night for the future. Hahaha. Happy watching guys.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this movie. It was a little bit different and Samara Weaving always seems to have a certain allure in whatever role she picks up.

Definitely up there as one of the better horror/comedy films in my opinion.
