Minions & Monsters (2026) Review: When Minions Took Over Hollywood

Review by @mmam πŸ†#100 πŸ”₯2 🎡8 🎬6 πŸ“Ί2 Β· 13h Β· of Minions & Monsters Β· 1 view

I want into Minions And Monsters expecting the usual chaotic behavior from those yellow trouble makers πŸ˜†, and honestly they didn't disappoint. But this time the minions found themselves in a complete difference world "Old Hollywood" where they accidentally became part of the movie business.

The story follows James and Henry, two minions who who accidentally found their way into the movie business. Their strange behavior caught the attention of Max, and before long, the minions had gone from being unknown to unexpected movie stars.

Things changed when taking movies become popular. The minions suddenly struggled to fit into the Hollywood, because they couldn't speak English properly. Instead of giving up, James and Henry came up with the idea of making their own monster movie.

That was when things really got interesting. They used an old spell book to bring Goomi and other monsters into the movie. But the monsters didn't exactly understand that they were supposed to be actors. What started as filmmaking quickly turned into a real battle, leaving James and Henry and other minions trying to control the mess they had created.

Olivia, Frank, Elwood, Dort, Debbie, Phillips and Howard also became part of the adventure, adding more characters and more trouble to an already chaos situation.

I particularly enjoyed the old Hollywood setting. Watching the minions become movie stars, struggle with the transition to talking films and then try to make their own monster movie gave the story something different.

Their usual physical comedy was still there, but the filmmaking angle made the whole thing more interesting.

I also liked James and Henry because they weren't simply causing trouble for no reason, they genuinely wanted to make something of themselves in the movie world. Watching their plans fall apart and seeing them trying to fix everything gave the story a little more heart.

I wouldn't call Minions & Monsters a perfect movie. There were moments when the constant jokes and chaos became a little too much for me. The story also isn't particularly deep, and I don't think it was trying to be. But that's okay. Not every animated movie needs to make you cry or leave you thinking about life for three days. Sometimes you just want something colourful, funny and completely ridiculous. And Minions & Monsters delivers exactly that.

Overall, I had a good time watching Minions And Monsters. It wasn't overly complicated. It was funny, colourful, chaotic and had enough adventure that kept me entertained.

The minions had wanted to make a movie, but as usual, they somehow ended up creating a much bigger problem than the one they started with.
