For any comic book fan it is very clear that Marvel takes all the glory when you compare them to DC Comics. Every year we can see new TV Shows from DC that are objectively worse than Marvel ones. Don't even let me start on movies where Marvel destroyed DC in every way possible in terms of overall quality and revenues. But in terms of TV Shows DC Comics still have some fight in them, I'll give them that.
After very decent Black Lightning, Krypton is another watchable new TV Show focused on Superman spinoff set on planet Krypton few generations before it was destroyed.
The story is revolving around familiar Krypton noble houses El and Zod before they were super powered heroes and villains.
Of course there must be some epic galactic threat coming to destroy planet Krypton and that threat has a name which I will let you discover on your own if you're interested in watching this show.
The role of the hero of the show goes to Superman's grandfather Seg-El who in this show is a young man in his 20s. He was warned by the time traveler that the danger is coming to destroy the Cryptonian way of life and he is the only one who can stop him. Easier said than done considering there is a lot of politics and intrigue connecting the story with the future which keeps it interesting for the whole of 10 episodes.
This is not a huge budget TV Show so you won't see a lot of great CGI, but whenever it happens it will look quite good. The planet Krypton is depicted quite well and every character serves their role in the Superman universe. Krypton is a new and interesting take on Superman story and not quite what you would expect from DC Comics. Score 8.2/10
