As a movie lover who detests spoilers, I usually write brief summaries about newly released blockbusters without giving out spoilers. This time, I would be doing it differently and I apologize ahead to all those who hate spoilers. Equalizer 2 is a 2018 Mystery/Crime movie starring the amazing Denzel Washington who also happened to be one of the producers of the extraordinary movie. Equalizer 1 was incredible and part 2 did not let us down at all!
If you have a problem and there is nowhere else to turn, the mysterious and elusive Robert McCall will deliver the vigilante justice you seek. This time, however, McCall's past cuts especially close to home when thugs kill Susan Plummer -- his best friend and former colleague. Now out for revenge, McCall must take on a crew of highly trained assassins who'll stop at nothing to destroy him. EQUALIZER 2
Equalizer 1 Part 1 was released in September 2014 and it took the world by storm with it's brutal kills. Denzel Washington as Robert McCall, was a retired DIA operative working in a hardware store and leading a quiet life in Boston after the death of his wife. He meets and befriends Alina, a teenage prostitute at his favorite diner. One day, he finds out the teenage prostitute has been hospitalized after being brutally beaten up by her pimp. He offers to buy her freedom from her pimp who refuses. Robert kills the pimp and his clique, eventually helping the young prostitute start a clean new life. Robert goes on to help a number of helpless people, killing a corrupt policeman and some other nasty characters in the process. Robert becomes inspired to continue using his skill to help people and puts out an online advert offering his help/services and identifying himself as the Equalizer.
Equalizer 2 Part 2 was released in July 2018 and it features Robert Macall as a Lyft cab driver (similar to our Uber cabs) in Boston. He continues to anonymously assist the helpless with the help of his old friend, Susan Plummer, a DIA operative. We see him rescue a local bookstore owner's daughter who was kidnapped by her ruthless father. He helps an old man find a long lost painting and reunites the man with his long lost twin sister. He also helps a young woman who was raped and drugged by a group of young men, getting her to a hospital to have her stomach evacuated and beating the culprits up terribly and efficiently. On a lighter note, Robert makes friends with one of his neighbors, Miles Whittaker a young black man from a troubled background and gets him to assist him in painting walls. During a DIA investigation, his friend Susan is murdered to cover up a terrible plot and Robert would stop at nothing to avenge her death. He discovers Susan's partner, DIA agent operative Dave York, to be behind her death along with a team of 3 of Robert's ex colleagues. The 4 rogue DIA operatives kidnap young Miles and use him as bait in their bid to kill Robert. The movie ends with a glorious bang, with Robert killing all 4 operatives using some pretty spectacular and gruesome fight tactics.
