Stuber is a Thriller/Crime movie released in Nigeria on the 12th of July, 2019. It's got a 1 hour and 33 minutes run time with rather funny dialogue and some pretty fast-paced action. Starring Kumail Nanjiani, Dave Bautista, Iko Uwais, Natalie Morales, Betty Gilpin, Jimmy Tatro, Mira Sorvino, and Karen Gillan, this movie has received some pretty mixed reviews and quite a bit of criticism. Its 84% google rating is a testament to the fact that it was not that bad; the critics were just a little hard on it. I enjoyed Stuber immensely and it gave me a lot of laughs.
Kumail Nanjiani was awesome in his role as Stu, an Uber driver obsessing for a 5-star rating on the Uber app but not getting it despite giving it his best shot. Dave Bautista, on the other hand, was also perfect in his role as the grizzled and gruff LAPD detective, Victor Manning. The two have the perfect kind of chemistry for such a 'buddy-cop' kinda movie. I did prefer Bautista's "Guardians Of The Galaxy" hairless look to the very hairy one he spotted in this movie. A nice movie to watch on a day out with your buddies.
