One of the sci-fi films about spiders produced in 1955, starring John Agar, Marda Corday, directed by Jack Arnold, and the film's 80-minute duration. In a laboratory in the Arizona desert, Professor Gerald Dimmer is conducting a series of experiments on growth hormone in some animals in the hope of finding a new way to increase the world's food supply.
After the death of Professor Dimmer's assistant, Dr. Matt Hastings doubts the cause of death due to years of deformities, but there have been those who have seen this assistant from a brief period of time. Professor Demer discovers the growth of some of his laboratory animals in their cages, including the tarantula spider.
After a laboratory fire, the cages are broken and the spiders escape, but the professor lies about the animals and says that they all died in the fire.
Dr. Hastings discovers that the substance that caused the malformations was tarantula poison.
