The battles between gods and humans have been devised in many manga and anime, the first that comes to mind is Saint Seiya, but I know there are many more. And certainly this premise of confronting the creator and the created, the superior against the inferior, arouses much interest in the general public, somehow we want to see justice before the despotism or airs of superiority of gods who are evil or who believe that humans are no longer necessary.
Evidently before such a conflict there is a lot of fabric to cut since the situations that can be presented are infinite and there is the reason why there are so many wonderful and exciting stories. I think it generates a lot of morbidity to imagine, see or read a story in which a group of humans is emboldened by superior beings and challenge them physically, psychologically, mentally or morally, there is much to argue and discuss.
Las batallas entre los dioses y los humanos han sido ideadas en muchos manga y anime, el primero que se me ocurre es Saint Seiya, pero sé que hay muchos más. Y es que ciertamente esta premisa de enfrentar al creador y al creado, al superior contra el inferior, despierta mucho interés en el público en general, de alguna manera queremos ver justicia ante el despotismo o aires de superioridad de dioses que son malvados o que creen que los humanos ya no somos necesarios.
Evidentemente ante tal conflicto hay mucha tela que cortar ya que las situaciones que pueden presentarse son infinitas y he allí él porque existen tantas historias maravillosas y apasionantes. Creo que genera mucho morbo imaginarse, ver o leer una historia en la que un grupo de humanos se envalentona ante seres superiores y los retan de manera física, psicológica, mental o moral, de allí hay mucho que se puede argumentar y discutir.
In the case of the anime that I present to you this time, battles between gods and humans are also planned, but in a more direct way. In this context, the gods decide to unleash the Ragnarok, which in Norse mythology means the battle of the end of the world, they believe that humanity no longer deserves to continue to exist because of its imperfection, selfishness, among other negative qualities. Thus, one-on-one battles are established with representatives of both sides, at the end of which victories and defeats will be counted and this will determine if humanity will continue to exist or if it is the end of the world.
In these fights, the immortal gods of course enjoy all their power, the humans on the other hand, are selected in the best context and physical state of their history, that is to say, they are not old or weak from age. The battles take place in an arena where great gods and lesser gods share with humans who existed in the historical context of each participant, the atmosphere that is generated is spectacular.
En el caso del anime que esta vez les presento, también se planean batallas entre dioses y humanos, pero de una forma más directa. En este contexto, los dioses deciden desatar el Ragnarok que en la mitología nórdica significa la batalla del fin de mundo, éstos creen que la humanidad ya no merece seguir existiendo por su imperfección, egoísmo, entre otras cualidades negativas. Es así que se establecer batallas uno contra uno con representantes de ambos bandos, al final se contabilizarán las victorias y derrotas y ese sentido se determinará si la humanidad seguirá existiendo o si ya es su final.
En estas peleas, los dioses inmortales por supuesto gozan de todo su poder, los seres humanos por su parte, son seleccionados en el mejor contexto y estado físico de su historia, es decir, no están viejos o débiles por la edad. Las batallas de desarrollan en una arena en la comparten grandes dioses y dioses menores junto con humanos que existieron en el contexto histórico de cada participante, el ambiente que se genera es espectacular.
The gods are headed by Zeus, the greatest god of Greek mythology and he is accompanied by other gods of the same mythology such as Poseidon, Hermes, Ares, among others; but there are also gods from Nordic, Japanese, Egyptian and Hindu mythology. All of them are aligned on the same premise, they are hungry to wipe out all mankind and in that sense they will deploy all their power and show their true and terrifying face.
On the other hand, the humans are curiously led by a Valkyrie named Brunhild, it is worth mentioning that the Valkyries are beings of Norse mythology that served Odin and their main function was to transfer the heroes fallen in battle to Valhalla, stories of these entities we have seen many. The fact is that Brunhild leads the attempt to save the humans and in that sense publicly challenges the gods, she is also the one who is responsible for selecting the humans who will enter the battles.
Los dioses están encabezados por Zeus, máximo dios de la mitología griega y está acompañado por los otros dioses de su misma mitología como por ejemplo Poseidón, Hermes, Ares, entre otros más; pero también hay dioses de la mitología nórdica, japonesa, egipcia e hindú. Todos ellos están alineados en la misma premisa, tienen hambre de acabar con toda la humanidad y en ese sentido desplegarán todo su poder y mostrarán su verdadero y aterrador rostro.
Por otra parte, los humanos están liderados curiosamente por una valquiria llamada Brunilda, es de mencionar que las valquirias son seres de la mitología nórdica que servían a Odin y tenían como función principal trasladar a los héroes caídos en batalla al Valhalla, historias de éstas entidades hemos visto muchas. El caso es que Brunilda encabeza la intentona de salvar a los humanos y en ese sentido reta públicamente a los dioses, ella es también la que se encarga de seleccionar a los humanos que entrarán en las batallas.
Among the humans selected for the fights we can find curious historical characters such as Adam, Jack the Ripper and Lü Bu, but there are also other very interesting ones that I will let you discover for yourselves. I find the selection of characters very curious since they are many that we have known throughout our lives in myths, stories, legends or perhaps we have seen them in other anime or manga, in that sense, it felt very familiar.
At first instance it seems evident that the gods have the advantage, after all, they have impressive powers and abilities; while humans on paper are only humans with physical and intellectual abilities; however, throughout the chapters we will see that they are empowered by elements that multiply their strength and they are presented as people who once had superhuman abilities.
Entre los humanos seleccionados para las peleas podemos encontrar curiosos personajes históricos como Adán, Jack el Destripador y Lü Bu, pero también hay otros muy interesantes que dejaré que los descubran ustedes mismos. Me parece muy curiosa la selección de personajes ya que son muchos que hemos conocido a lo largo de nuestras vidas en mitos, relatos, leyendas o quizá los hemos visto en otros anime o manga, en ese sentido, se sintió muy familiar.
En primera instancia parece evidente que los dioses tienen la ventaja, a fin de cuentas, estos tienen poderes y habilidades impresionantes; mientras que los humanos en el papel son solo humanos con habilidades físicas e intelectuales; sin embargo, a lo largo de los capítulos veremos que son potenciados por elementos que multiplican sus fuerzas además de que son presentados como personas que en su momento tuvieron habilidades sobrehumanas.
Each fight is intense, no one wins with ease or total superiority. We can also see how each warrior has a motivation to win beyond just saving humanity or ending it, and at the end of the day these are not just crude battles, there are moral aspects that are discussed in the intermission that leave a lot to think about.
Cada pelea es intensa, nadie gana con facilidad o total superioridad. Podemos ver también como cada guerrero tiene una motivación para ganar más allá de solo salvar a la humanidad o acabar con ella y es que a fin de cuentas no son solo batallas burdas, hay aspectos morales que se discuten en el intermedio que dejan mucho que pensar.
