GetBackers is a shonen that from my point of view is not conventional, but it gives us very good action, excellent fights and very funny stories that are different from what we are used to seeing. I remember that when I saw this anime I thought it was very innovative even though there are arcs or chapters that may seem common, but there is always a space for the violent adventures of the two main characters, Ginji and Ban.
The job of this pair is to recover lost objects of any kind, they provide this service to whoever is willing to pay the price and it never matters the level of danger of the job since they are very good fighters, but something important to mention here is that sometimes these jobs lead them to unappetizing corners and that without any other choice they must face complicated enemies since they are not the only ones in search of important objects.
GetBackers, es un shonen que desde mi punto de vista no es convencional, pero nos brinda muy buena acción, excelentes peleas e historias muy divertidas y diferentes a lo que estamos acostumbrados a ver. Recuerdo que cuando vi este anime me pareció que era muy innovador a pesar de que hay arcos o capítulos que pueden parecernos comunes, pero siempre hay un espacio para las aventuras violentas de los dos protagonistas, Ginji y Ban.
El trabajo de este par es recuperar objetos perdidos de cualquier tipo, prestan este servicio a quien esté dispuesto a pagar el precio y nunca importa el nivel de peligrosidad del trabajo ya que son muy buenos luchadores, pero algo importante que mencionar aquí es que a veces esos trabajos los llevan a rincones poco apetecibles y que sin más remedio deben enfrentar enemigos complicados ya que ellos no son los únicos en búsqueda de objetos importantes.
A very relevant aspect of the charismatic protagonists of this anime, is the past they had, it is a quite mysterious one that somehow they try to leave behind, but always appear shadows that are responsible for reminding them of dark moments. I think that in part that past is what forges the character and personality of both Ginji and Ban since in the positive attitude that they always try to show, we observe some counterproductive behaviors that give us to understand that their past is still not completely overcome.
There is something very important that I want to highlight and it is the character who serves as villain or main rival, Dr. Jackal in his time captivated me with his confident attitude, laughing and for the excellent dialogues that he gave us every time he appeared, he is one of the best antagonists I've seen so far and not necessarily for his evil, I think he had motivations more attached to being a strong and respectable warrior, so the duels against him are always complicated.
Un aspecto muy relevante de los carismáticos protagonistas de este anime, es el pasado que tuvieron, es uno bastante misterioso que de alguna manera tratan de dejar atrás, pero siempre aparecen sombras que se encargan de recordarles oscuros momentos. Creo que en parte ese pasado es el que forja el carácter y personalidad tanto de Ginji como de Ban ya que en la actitud positiva que siempre tratan de mostrar, observamos algunas conductas contraproducentes que nos dan a entender que su pasado aún no está del todo superado.
Hay algo muy importante que quiero destacar y es al personaje que funge como villano o rival principal, el Dr. Jackal en su momento me cautivó con su actitud confiada, risueña y por los excelentes diálogos que nos regalaba cada vez que hacía aparición, es uno de los mejores antagonistas que he visto hasta ahora y no necesariamente por su maldad, creo que tenía motivaciones más apegadas a ser un guerrero fuerte y respetable, es así que los duelos contra el siempre son complicados.
One element that helps to keep this anime in my memories is the second opening, this catchy song from the band PIERROT called "Barairo no sekai" was one of the reasons why I was looking forward to it in front of the TV, in fact I have it downloaded to add it to my playlist when I try to relax listening to music.
Un elemento que ayuda a mantener este anime en mis recuerdos es el segundo opening, esta pegajosa canción de la banda PIERROT llamada "Barairo no sekai" era uno de los motivos por los cuales esperaba con ansias frente al TV, de hecho la tengo descargada para agregarla a mis playlist cuando trato de relajarme escuchanco música.
Anyway, for me GetBackers was an adventure that I still remember with much appreciation and affection, it gave me many top moments in my beginnings in the world of anime and I think that's why and despite the years that have passed it still retains a very special place in my mind. Although due to the large amount of information that we handle on a daily basis produces that sometimes I forget about its existence, it always ends up returning to my memories.
One of the problems of recommending this anime, is that perhaps nowadays it is not easy to get, I was looking in streaming platforms and so far I have not found this one, but I remember when I saw it was on the Animax channel that at that time had DirecTV. If you have the ability or luck to find it in any media please let me know, I really want to see it again.
En fin, para mi GetBackers fue una aventura que aún recuerdo con mucho aprecio y cariño, me regaló muchos momentos tops en mis inicios en el mundo del anime y creo que por eso y a pesar de los años que han pasado sigue conservando un lugar muy especial en mi mente. Aunque a raíz de la gran cantidad de información que manejamos de manera diaria produce que en ocasiones me olvide de su existencia, siempre termina regresando a mis recuerdos.
Uno de los problemas de recomendar este anime, es que quizá en la actualidad no sea fácil de conseguir, estuve buscando en plataformas de streaming y hasta el momento no he dado con este, pero recuerdo cuando lo vi fue en el canal Animax que ese momento tenía DirecTV. Si tienes la habilidad o la suerte de encontrarlo en algún medio por favor házmelo saber, tengo muchas ganas de verlo nuevamente.
