Have you ever seen an anime that made your appetite awaken and you wanted to eat exotic things prepared with the finest ingredients? If I have to say something about my experience watching the five seasons of Shokugeki no Sōma is that I kept getting hungry, in this anime we can see from the simplest to the most complex dishes, but it's not just about watching them, but also about understanding the preparation of each one of them.
The truth is that I don't know if there are other anime that contain the cooking genre (surely there are), but I must say that it filled me with great satisfaction to be able to change for a long time the shonen or conventional genres for an exotic one like this one where the values of friendship, perseverance and desire to excel are also present, but from the point of view of a cooking school and its students.
¿Alguna vez vieron un anime que hiciera que tu apetito despertara y deseara comer cosas exóticas y preparadas con los más finos ingredientes? Si algo debo decir sobre mi experiencia viendo las cinco temporadas de Shokugeki no Sōma es que no paraba de darme hambre, en este anime podemos ver desde los platillos más simples hasta los más complejos, pero no se trata solo de verlos, sino también de entender la preparación de cada uno de éstos.
La verdad desconozco si existen otros anime que contengan el género cocina (seguramente sí), pero debo decir que me llenó de mucha satisfacción poder cambiar por una larga temporada el shonen o géneros convencionales por uno exótico como éste donde también los valores de la amistad, perseverancia y ganas de superarse están presentes, pero desde el punto de vista de una escuela de cocina y sus estudiantes.
What initially arises in this story are the adventures and misadventures of a young man who enters a prestigious and demanding cooking school after his father left him to go to work elsewhere in search of other airs, he challenges him to survive and do a good job in a place that beyond being a place to learn a profession, can also become a hell full of rivals who seek to excel at any cost.
This is how Soma Yukihira faces the most fierce competitions against other students and the student council to climb the elite, along the way he will meet many classmates who were once rivals, but who understood the great potential and charisma of this interesting character who will also inspire them not to fall by the wayside, in these competitions whoever is eliminated is destined to fail.
Lo que se plantea inicialmente en esta historia son las aventuras y desventuras de un joven que ingresa a una prestigiosa y exigente escuela de cocina luego de que su padre lo dejará para irse a trabajar a otros lugares en busca de otros aires, éste lo reta a sobrevivir y a hacer una buena labor en un lugar que más allá de ser un sitio para aprender una profesión, puede convertirse también es un infierno lleno de rivales que buscarán sobresalir a cualquier costo.
Es así que Soma Yukihira se enfrenta en las más reñidas competiciones a los otros estudiantes y al consejo estudiantil para ir escalando en la elite, en el camino conocerá a muchos compañeros que en su momento fueron rivales, pero que entendieron el gran potencial y carisma de este interesante personaje que también los inspirará a ellos a no quedarse en el camino, en estas competencias quien queda eliminado está destinado al fracaso.
One of the many things I liked was the ability of the mangaka to create so many characters that stood out with their own brilliance, I think this is not one of those cases in which the protagonist is the focus at each stage of the story, but there are many others with a complex background that served as motivation to fight before adversity, there were also some very talented and were already established in the culinary world.
I think that the animation of this manga was very successful since being able to graph ingredients and dishes in a realistic and colorful way does not seem an easy task, here we can see the brightness and texture of the food with a clarity that is precisely what stimulated my appetite, added to the good sound that we heard in the preparations, I would really love to see how they made them, did they have to cut ingredients and prepare meals to record those sounds?
Una de las tantas cosas que me gustó fue la capacidad del mangaka para crear tantos personajes que resaltaban con brillo propio, creo que este no es de esos casos en los que el protagonista es el foco en cada etapa de la historia, sino que hay muchos otros con un trasfondo complejo que les servía de motivación para luchar antes las adversidades, también había algunos muy talentosos y que ya estaban consolidados en el mundo culinario.
Creo que la animación de este manga fue muy acertada ya que poder graficar ingredientes y platillos de una forma realista y vistosa no parece una tarea fácil, aquí podemos ver el brillo y textura de los alimentos con una claridad que precisamente es la que estimulaba mi apetito, sumado al buen sonido que escuchábamos en las preparaciones, de verdad me encantaría ver como los hicieron ¿tuvieron que cortar ingredientes y preparar comidas para registrar esos sonidos?
I highly recommend this anime, it is true that it has five seasons that can become long, but believe me it is worth it, for sure you will discover that the world of cooking can be very interesting when it is given a fun, different and deep approach. See you soon!
