I've never been a fan of robot anime, in fact, I've seen very few so far. I have no doubt that incredible stories have been created in the mecha genre, but for some reason I just don't connect with it. The anime of this type that I remember having seen would be Code Geass, Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Full Metal Panic! saga, but not more than those. However, a few months ago I read a review in this same community in which Pluto, a Netflix anime of 8 chapters that at first glance did not generate me more attraction, but until I gave it a chance, I could not know if it would be worth it or not.
Now, Pluto is not an anime in which we will see very often gigantic robots as we usually see in this famous genre, but rather robots that are mostly humanized. This last thing I just mentioned is one of the things that initially caught my attention, in this world robots and humans coexist with a certain peace, but before getting to that point many things had to happen. Robots are programmed to avoid harming humans at all costs and also have a very advanced AI capable of understanding complex circumstances that allows them to react as logically as possible when interacting with humans, even robots have rights under the law.

However, it is normal to think that full confidence in robots will never exist, the fact that in theory they have no feelings generates suspicion in the population, besides, who guarantees that they can not be reprogrammed or that they can fail and generate some damage, well, these are things that understandably generate doubts, but the most important thing is that at the time there were incidents between robots and humans that did not end well. As in any society, hatred, resentment or rejection against those who are different is always latent and in this world is no exception, in fact, there is a secret organization that aims to kill the robots and that in due course will cause havoc.
To give you more context, this anime begins with a tragic incident in which they murder, or rather, destroy a robot very precious to the general population, it was very friendly and helpful to humans and wildlife in general. This was not just any crime, this robot was one of the 7 most advanced in the world, so the perpetrator must have been someone or something very powerful and although he did not leave any clues or evidence, he did leave a kind of message or personal mark, a pair of horns on the robot's head. Thus, the authorities, alerted by such incident, left the case in the hands of Gesicht, a robot investigator who is also one of the 7 most advanced robots in the world.

In the following days more robots would be destroyed and even humans would die under the same circumstances since there was never any evidence and there were always two horns on the heads of the victims. The fact that it was not known who the killer was and that there were dead humans unleashed the controversy that it could be a robot, but it had already been a few years since such an incident had occurred, and although no anomaly was ever determined in the killer robot at that time, the chances that it was repeating itself were quite low, so the mystery was the order of the day.
Something that is fundamental in the story is how highly developed the AI of the robots is, in fact, for humans themselves it is difficult to distinguish them since most of them look like humans and even have programmed habits such as eating, going to the bathroom, etc. Despite the above mentioned, some of them start to develop skills or feelings that in theory are impossible given the robotic nature, so they themselves presume that they are evolving.
Throughout the chapters I got involved with the cause of some robots to the point of feeling a lot of empathy and even pity since evidently the inclusion of these robots in society is complicated both in a fictional story as well as when the time comes in real life (if it comes). Pluto is a deep and thought-provoking anime that digs deep into your feelings and generates plots that can be quite sad. The animation is a 10 and the anime 100% recommendable. I'm thankful to have read that review in the past and watched this interesting story. Greetings to all!
