Está protagonizada por Katherine Langford, Charlie Plummer, Hayley Law, Piper Perabo, Rob Huebel e Yvonne Orji.
Mara es una adolescente de diecisiete años que va en el último año de preparatoria, es bastante divertida y alocada. Tiene a su mejor amiga siempre a su lado y pasan tiempos divertidas juntas.
Todo comienza a ponerse extraño cuando en plena clase una alumna muy reconocida explota y muere en medio de todo el salón. Desde ese momento mandan a todos los alumnos a sus casas para que hagan las investigaciones policiales y ver qué pasó con esta alumna.
Un día Mara recibe un mensaje de una declaración de amor pero ella no sabe quien se lo mando. Le parece bastante divertido y sigue hablando con este chico por unos días. Luego otro día en la escuela ocurre otra muerte por una explosión de un estudiante así que deciden suspender las clases hasta nuevo aviso.
Mientras tanto Mara se va enamorando de Dylan y recorren varios lugares paseando de aquí para allá, Dylan es un chico bastante dulce y tranquilo y Mara no puede evitar a pesar de toda la locura que ocurre en su escuela enamorarse de él.
Y así van ocurriendo una tras otra muerte por explosión y la policía decide que deben recluir a todos los estudiantes en un refugio y hacerles pruebas, análisis de sangre etc. Empiezan las acciones para crear un medicamento que posiblemente impediría la muerte de los estudiantes.
Esta película es bastante sangrienta y explícita pero si yo la pude ver sin quedar traumada para ustedes no será nada jaja. Y deja una gran enseñanza al final y es que la vida puede ser una basura, siempre van a pasar cosas malas y te vas a caer una y otra vez pero que siempre podrás salir adelante a pesar del miedo, de lo que suceda a tu alrededor y que puedes lograr lo que te propongas.
No vamos a salir vivos de esta vida así que porque no intentar escribir ese libro que siempre haz querido escribir, por que no decirle a la persona que te gusta que la amas, por qué no arriesgarse aunque las cosas puedan salir mal, pero que tal si salen como esperábamos o aún mejor, mucho mejor de lo que esperábamos.
