Hello movie and TV-loving friends 😃, I hope you are doing very well. For months I had been excitedly looking forward to the reunion of Oasis, a band that means a lot to me in every way. It was something unexpected, knowing the fights and conflicts the Gallagher brothers had. The first concert was spectacular; that handshake and the energy with which they officially kicked off their reconciliation close to the fans was incredible. Then they dropped the news that there would be a documentary, and I got so excited. I think it was something many of us were waiting for, and I finally got to watch the documentary titled Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger.

I imagined it would be something super intense or that they would show a very serious reunion, but the exact opposite happened. The beginning is a reflection of how the Gallagher brothers felt at the start of their career and with the successes they achieved with their albums. It also captures the euphoria and the bond that was created with their group of fans, which grew from generation to generation. Both had very low expectations of what might happen when they reunited, but it was something very beautiful, and I liked that they spoke so sincerely about how they felt during those sixteen years when they didn't communicate at all. And even though a lot of time passed, the reunion felt as if no years had gone by, just a few days; both look quite calm and much more mature in the documentary.

It brings a lot of nostalgia because they show video clips from the 90s and 2000s when their fame was at its peak, teaching us the intimate moments they spent during their songwriting days and also before going out to sing at every concert. It's amazing that despite so many years, fans still held on to even the slightest hope of a reconciliation and that they could see them live again. During the documentary they make jokes about what happened, but they don't go into details, other than talking about how immature they were and how little patience they had with each other. Acknowledging what they both did was a way of apologizing for the things that might have been said, but which they perhaps felt were wrong, and that it's time to return for their fans and for everything the band means to so many people.

What made me feel the most nostalgic was how they combined old performances with new ones. It was wonderful to see how everyone waited so anxiously to enter the stadiums, alongside their partners, siblings, children, parents. The emotion of each person seeing that something so wonderful was about to happen makes you very emotional, and you can feel the atmosphere of people who waited so long for this moment that it feels almost like a dream. I imagine it was breathtaking for everyone to see them live and be able to sing their songs while going through the best memory of their lives—a moment that will undoubtedly be hard to forget and that I think will remain in the memory of those who were there and those of us who watched the documentary.

And the most beautiful thing was the message the documentary transmits: a message of forgiveness beyond a religious view. It was a clear message that despite the differences that may exist, the words spoken, and the awkward moments they lived through, now after so much time, there is a feeling of love and gratitude for who they were back then when they were starting as a band and for who they are today, two mature men with a long journey behind them and a history that makes them different yet entwines them as brothers and as partners in music and in life. It was very nice to enjoy this message, and the ending leaves you with that question: Who do you need to forgive today, someone else or perhaps yourself?

I hope you can watch the documentary if you enjoy Oasis' music; it's amazing and it makes you emotional hearing the songs sung once again by the Gallaghers. ❤️
