La película que de la cual les estaré hablando se llama The Fallout o La vida después fue estrenada el 27 de enero de este año por HBO MAX, dirigida por Megan Park.
Sus géneros son el drama adolescente y está protagonizada por Jenna Ortega cómo Vada, Maddie Ziegler, Julie Bowen, John Ortiz, Niles Fitch, Will Ropp y Shailene Woodley en papeles secundarios.
Vada es una adolescente divertida y con una familia normal, que un día de camino con su amigo Nick a la secundaria no espera lo que va a sucederle. Luego de bromear con su amigo Ada se dirige a clases, se toma un momento para ir al baño y allí se encuentra con una de las chicas populares llamada Mía, ambas intercambian algunas palabras, y justo en ese momento se escuchando fuertes sonidos provenientes de los alumnos y muchos gritos.
Ambas se esconden en el mismo cuarto de baño asustadas y se encierran allí hasta que pase el tiroteo. Se encuentran en shock y el momento dura alrededor de unos cinco minutos hasta que se escuchan los carros de policía. Aún estando ellas encerradas en el baño aparece un alumno llamado Quinton lleno de sangre y se esconde con ellas mientras trata de calmarse pero sin dejar de repetir que su hermano está muerto.
Vada entra en un trance y empieza a tener conductas autodestructivas, se aísla de su familia y deja la escuela en pausa. Se vuelve cercana a Mía y empieza a tener conversaciones con ella, tienen algo en común ahora y es el trauma por haber vivido el tiroteo en su escuela y haber sobrevivido.
Vada trata como sea de escapar de la realidad y comienza a beber en la casa de Mia donde ella se encuentra sola porque sus padres tienen dinero y se la pasan viajando por cuestiones de trabajo. Ambas entran en un círculo vicioso dónde prueban el alcohol, la marihuana.
Pero eso no es suficiente para Vada y busca éxtasis y regresa al colegio drogada y vuelta nada. Pide permiso para salir al baño y llama a su amigo Nick para que la ayude porque siente que va a morir. Este la saca de allí y la lleva de vuelta a su casa, la hermana menor de Vada se encuentra muy preocupada por el aspecto y la actitud que está tiene desde hace varias semanas.
Vada va al velorio del hermano de Quinton para demostrarle su apoyo y la acompaña también Mía. Todo se vuelve un círculo vicioso dónde Vada y Mía se drogan y beben alcohol hasta que un día se dan un beso y tienen relaciones.
La mamá de Vada consigue a una psicóloga para ella y empieza terapia, al principio dice que ha llevado muy bien la situación y que no cree que necesite ayuda.
Pero con el tiempo y luego de salir con su papá y literalmente gritar que está aterroriza de la escuela y que la vida es difícil, escena que me cautivo mucho porque el papá hizo que ella reflexionará sin presionarla y también grito que se sentía frustrado porque no hay una ley que regule la venta de armas.
Vada habla con la psicóloga y le dice que tiene miedo, ella ha estado deprimida y traumada todo ese tiempo porque no puede olvidar como gritaban sus compañeros y porque tuvieron que morir y no ella.
El final de la película es algo triste y tal vez era de esperarse lo que desencadena en ella un ataque de pánico y termina la película. Muchas personas dicen que es una mala película, que es aburrida, etc.
En lo personal pienso que fue un 4 de 5 para mí, ya que mostraron una realidad que se vive casi que en el día a día, dónde jóvenes mueren en sus colegios productos de tiroteos. Y que hablen sobre esto es muy importante porque nadie merece vivir con miedo, mucho menos en la escuela que debería de ser un lugar para aprender y conocer gente.
Creo que deberían de sacar una ley que regule la venta de armas urgentemente porque es algo que ya se ha escapado de las manos. Y ni siquiera los policías logran detener a tiempo estos sucesos.
El trauma que genera esto ha llevado hasta el cierre de escuelas por el mismo temor que tienen los niños y adolescentes a vivir esto. Y Vada refleja muy bien como puede afectar tu vida este suceso completamente y cambiar tu visión de la vida.
Es un tema delicado pero hay que hablar y luchar por un cambio cueste lo que cueste.

After joking with her friend Ada she goes to class, she takes a moment to go to the bathroom and there she meets one of the popular girls named Mia, both exchange a few words, and just at that moment she hears loud sounds coming from the students and a lot of screams.
They both hide in the same bathroom scared and lock themselves in there until the shooting passes. They are in shock and the moment lasts about five minutes until police cars are heard. While they are still locked in the bathroom, a student named Quinton appears, covered in blood, and hides with them while trying to calm down but repeating that his brother is dead.
Vada goes into a trance and begins to engage in self-destructive behaviors, isolates herself from her family and leaves school on hiatus. But that is not enough for Vada and she seeks ecstasy and returns to school stoned and back to nothing. She asks permission to go to the bathroom and calls her friend Nick to help her because she feels like she is going to die. He gets her out of there and takes her back home, Vada's younger sister is very worried about the way she has been looking and acting for several weeks.
Vada goes to Quinton's brother's wake to show her support and is accompanied by Mia. Everything becomes a vicious circle where Vada and Mia get high and drink alcohol until one day they kiss and have sex.
Vada's mom gets a psychologist for her and starts therapy, at first she says she has handled the situation very well and doesn't think she needs help.
But over time and after coming out to her dad and literally screaming that she is terrified of school and that life is hard, a scene that really captivated me because the dad made her reflect without pressuring her and also screamed that he was frustrated that there is no law regulating the sale of guns.
Vada talks to the psychologist and tells her that she is afraid, she has been depressed and traumatized all this time because she cannot forget how her classmates screamed and why they had to die and not her.
The end of the movie is kind of sad and maybe it was to be expected which triggers her to have a panic attack and ends the movie. Many people say that it is a bad movie, that it is boring, etc.
Personally I think it was a 4 out of 5 for me, because it showed a reality that is lived almost on a daily basis, where young people die in their schools as a result of shootings. And that they talk about this is very important because no one deserves to live in fear, much less in school which should be a place to learn and meet people.
I think they should urgently bring out a law that regulates the sale of guns because it is something that has already gotten out of hand. And not even the police are able to stop these events in time.
The trauma that this generates has even led to the closing of schools because of the fear that children and adolescents have of experiencing this. And Vada reflects very well how this event can affect your life completely and change your vision of life.
It is a delicate subject but we have to talk and fight for a change no matter what it takes.
