It is obvious that there are millions of movies in the world so it is almost impossible for a person to see them all and that is why there is always one that may be new to someone even if the movie was released several years ago and this is the case of the movie I want to talk about today, so welcome to a new review dear friends of the community, I did not know what this movie was about, but I had seen some images before, so I finally got to see it and I want to tell you my opinion about the movie called "The Lorax", let's start.

This movie released on March 2, 2012 is an American production that belongs to the genre of computer animation, action, adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy and music in the same plot, having so many genres in the same tape its story must be something quite interesting and in this movie we will follow the story of Ted, a 12 year old boy who lives in a city where there is no nature, trees or flowers. Ted wants to impress a girl named Audrey and she dreams of a tree, so Ted must find out how to get one and this will lead him to know a story of what happened before with the trees.

What happens in the movie?

Let's talk a little bit about what happens inside the movie, it begins with a small presentation of the place where the story starts and this place is Thneed-Ville, a city that seems to be completely artificial (this of course without counting the people who live there) since there are no trees, flowers or nature in general. Here we meet our protagonist Ted, a 12 year old boy who is interested in a girl named Audrey, so Ted wants to win her heart with a special gift and Audrey's dream is to see a real tree, so Ted searches for information to know where to find one and it is his grandmother who tells him where to go.

The place indicated by Ted's grandmother is outside the city and the truth is that everything seems a pretty sad and lifeless place, but Ted still goes ahead and reaches "The Lorax Street", here he finds a house and when he knocks on the door a mechanism is activated that makes Ted fly through the air and an old man inside the house demands Ted to leave that place, he is not welcome and no one should be there, but Ted insists that he wants a tree and this catches the old man's attention, so he agrees to tell him a story, a story that will give him what Ted is looking for or at least the knowledge of it.

Here we will know the story of the old man inside the house, of how life was before when there was so much nature everywhere, but a series of events and many desires to overcome blinded by the wrong people had some impact in the worst way and was what unleashed that the world was what it is today at that time that the old man tells his story, but this does not tell everything, so he tells Ted that he must leave and return the next day and promises to continue telling the story, Ted wants the tree, so he ends up reluctantly accepting.

On the other hand, the owner of the largest bottled oxygen company in the city does not like the idea that Ted has left, because this can be a problem for his company if people discover that the trees give free oxygen, so Alusyous O'Hare confronts Ted and pressures him so that this does not leave the city again, even threatening him and so this businessman becomes an obstacle for Ted and vice versa, because Ted becomes a danger for the businessman and neither of the two will give his arm to twist, besides, there is still history to discover what really happened to the trees and all nature?

My opinion about the movie

The rest of the movie I will not mention it so that who has not seen the movie can do it when they want, so I will only talk about my opinion and I want to do it starting with the story, first to say that the story can be somewhat complex, because they really tell us different stories that end up reaching the same end, but with this variety of stories they make us immerse ourselves in different emotions, so it is an excellent way to tell the plot, besides knowing how to use the characters so you can connect emotionally with them, plus everything has a sense and message within what happens, so it is a well constructed story.

For being an animated film I consider that the themes it touches are not for children, I mean, I know perfectly well that not because a film is animated is purely for children, but most of the time it is usually the target audience and the teaching that this film leaves is like a message for them, but I feel that it touches on certain complicated topics that a child might have a hard time understanding, but in general the movie has many moments in which the teachings come and go, which is always appreciated in movies, at least this is something that I enjoy a lot, movies that manage to leave you with something beyond entertainment.

Two things that we will find a lot in the film is the comedy and musical moments, as for the comedy is somewhat subjective because it will depend a lot on the sense of humor of each person, I personally laughed at various times, although I was so focused on the story that for me the comic was secondary, although it was present at all times, what I did not enjoy much was the music, I have a certain love hate with this when I consider that the songs do not convince me, but the intentions are good and the moments are appropriate, but I did not like the songs, but they were entertaining.

Finally I want to mention that I found the end of the film very interesting, I mean, from the beginning of the film, then its development leaves many thoughts in the air and things that deserve an answer, which in the end really fulfills this, besides I also want to mention that the film is quite short in time, an hour and a few minutes more, but it seemed to me more than enough to tell the story in the best possible way, it is not always necessary to extend something to entertain, that which manages to draw attention works with the amount of time it is, that is also something that I applaud this film, knowing how to tell a story without extending.

Esta película estrenada el 2 de marzo del año 2012 es una producción estadounidense que pertenece al género de animación por computadora, acción, aventura, comedia, drama, fantasía y música en una misma trama, al tener tantos géneros en una misma cinta su historia debe ser algo bastante interesante y es que en esta película seguiremos la historia de Ted, un niño de 12 años que vive en una ciudad donde no hay nada de naturaleza, árboles o flores. ¿Qué sucede en la película?

Hablemos un poco de lo que sucede dentro de la película, esta comienza con una pequeña presentación del lugar donde empieza la historia y este lugar es Thneed-Ville, una ciudad que parece ser completamente artificial (esto claro sin contar a las personas que viven allí) ya que no hay árboles, flores o naturaleza en general. Aquí conocemos a nuestro protagonista Ted, un joven de 12 años quien está interesado en una chica llamada Audrey, por lo que Ted quiere ganarse su corazón con un regalo especial y es que el sueño de Audrey es ver un árbol de verdad, así que Ted busca información para saber dónde encontrar uno y es su abuela quien le dice a dónde debe ir.

El sitio que le indicó la abuela de Ted se encuentra fuera de la ciudad y la verdad es que todo parece un lugar bastante triste y sin vida, pero Ted aún así sigue adelante y llega a “La calle del Lorax”, aquí encuentra una casa y cuando toca la puerta se activa un mecanismo que hace que Ted vuele por los aires y un anciano dentro de la casa le exige a Ted que se vaya de ese lugar, no es bienvenido y nadie debería estar allí, pero Ted insiste que quiere un árbol y esto llama la atención del anciano, por lo que acepta contarle una historia, historia que le dará aquello que Ted está buscando o al menos el conocimiento de ello.

Aquí conoceremos la historia del anciano dentro de la casa, de cómo era la vida antes cuando había tanta naturaleza por todos lados, pero una serie de sucesos y muchos deseos de superarse cegados por las personas incorrectas tuvieron cierto impacto de la peor manera y fue lo que desató que el mundo fuese lo que es actualmente en ese momento que el anciano cuenta su historia, pero este no lo cuenta todo, por lo que le dice a Ted que debe irse y regresar al día siguiente y promete seguirle contando la historia, Ted quiere el árbol, por lo que termina aceptando a regañadientes.

Por otro lado, el propietario de la mayor compañía de oxigeno embotellado en la ciudad no le gusta la idea de que Ted haya salido, porque esto puede ser un problema para su empresa si acaso las personas descubren que los árboles dan oxígeno gratis, por lo que Alusyous O’Hare se enfrenta a Ted y lo presiona para que este no vuelva a salir de la ciudad, incluso llegando a amenazarle y así este empresario se convierte en un obstáculo para Ted y viceversa, porque Ted se convierte en un peligro para el empresario y ninguno de los dos dará su brazo a torcer, además, todavía hay historia por descubrir ¿qué fue lo que realmente sucedió con los árboles y toda la naturaleza?

Mí opinión sobre la película

El resto de la película no lo mencionaré para que quien no haya visto la película pueda hacerlo cuando así lo desea, por lo que sólo hablaré de mi opinión y quiero hacerlo comenzando con la historia, primero decir que la historia puede resultar un tanto compleja, porque realmente nos cuentan diferentes historias que terminan llegando a un mismo fin, pero con esta variedad de historias nos hacen sumergirnos en diferentes emociones, por lo que es una excelente manera de contar la trama, además de saber usar a los personajes para que puedas conectar de manera emocional con ellos, además de que todo tiene un sentido y mensaje dentro de lo que ocurre, así que es una historia bien construida.

Para ser una película animada considero que los temas que toca no son para niños, quiero decir, sé perfectamente que no porque una película sea animada es netamente para niños, pero en su mayoría de veces suele ser el público objetivo y la enseñanza que deja esta película si es como un mensaje para ellos, pero siento que toca ciertos temas complicados que quizás a un niño le cueste un poco entender, pero en general la película tiene muchos momentos en los que las enseñanzas vienen y van, cosa que siempre es de agradecer en las películas, al menos esto es algo que yo disfruto mucho, películas que logran dejarte algo más allá de entretenimiento.

Dos cosas que encontraremos mucho en la película es la comedia y momentos musicales, en cuanto a la comedia es algo subjetivo porque dependerá mucho del sentido del humor de cada persona, yo en lo personal me reí en varios momentos, aunque estuve tan concentrado en la historia que para mí lo cómico fue algo secundario, aunque estuvo presente en todo momento, lo que si no disfruté mucho fue lo musical, tengo cierto amor odio con esto cuando considero que las canciones no me terminan de convencer, pero las intenciones son buenas y los momentos adecuados, pero no fueron de mí agrado las canciones, pero sí fueron entretenidas.

Por último mencionar que el final de la película me pareció muy interesante, quiero decir, desde el inicio de la película, luego su desarrollo deja muchos pensamientos en el aire y cosas que ameritan respuesta, cosa que al final realmente cumple con esto, además también quiero mencionar que la película es bastante corta de tiempo, una hora y pocos minutos más, pero me pareció más que suficiente para contar la historia de la mejor manera posible, no siempre es necesario extender algo para entretener, aquello que logra llamar la atención funciona con la cantidad de tiempo que sea, por eso también es algo que aplaudo a esta película, saber contar una historia sin extenderse.
