Greetings dear friends of the community, welcome to a review that I wasn't planning to do, but after seeing the movie and being pleasantly surprised I really feel it deserves it. I had already read several reviews about this movie and they all spoke quite well of it, but I didn't want to get my hopes up until I saw it on my own and today I had a free afternoon and it was the perfect time to do it. The movie I want to tell you about belongs to Netflix and is a recent release this year, so without further ado, let's talk about "Nimona".

The plot of this movie can be considered as something simple, but it works quite well with the development of the story, taking into account that it is about the innocent person who is accused of some act that triggered some problems and the purpose is to discover who caused the facts, as I said, something simple and typical in movies of heroic acts but this particular one has something that makes it much more enjoyable than any other, but it is something I want to talk about later, for now, I want to tell you how this story begins.

The film begins telling us the story of a peaceful kingdom that lived full of happiness without taking into account the dangers that lurked in the shadows, until one day, this darkness attacked destroying everything in its path and when everything seemed to have come to an end, a heroine named Gloreth wielded her sword, attacking and pushing back the darkness that attacked them, thanks to this a society was created where knights were born, trained to take care of the kingdom and keep history alive, hoping that it will not be repeated again, even knowing that the darkness always stalks them.

We go forward 1000 years into the future, where the investiture of new knights who will give their lives for the kingdom will take place, but unlike previous years, one of those selected to be trained as knights was someone who did not belong to the royal lineage, something that had never been seen before and is considered a new change for the kingdom, Thus we meet our protagonist Ballister, who was a homeless boy who always wanted to become a knight and following the rules of the kingdom was never achieved but the queen decided to give him a chance to see that although he did not belong to a noble family, his heart was that of a hero.

Ballister grew up and became one of the best aspiring knights taking advantage of that opportunity that had been given to him years ago, but it seems that people are not quite agree to leave the security of the kingdom in the hands of a commoner, this not only happens only with people, also with his other fellow aspiring knights who consider that it does not belong to them, except for one of them who really supports Ballister. The day of the ceremony arrives, everyone prepares and upon receiving his sword Ballister feels some irregularity, but before he can say anything it is time to go out to be knighted.

The first aspirant is called, he hands over his sword, the queen knights him and gives him back his sword, the next to be called is Ballister, he hands over his sword, once he is named, the people applaud as a sign of being accepted, when the queen gives him back his sword, a mechanism is activated in which the sword shoots in the direction of the queen, chaos occurs and the queen is dead thanks to it. Ballister must go into hiding because he is now wanted as the queen's murderer. On the other hand, we meet Nimona, a girl (who claims to be a villain) who shows up at Ballister's hideout and claims to want to be his partner in crime, Ballister clarifies to her that he was not responsible, so he is not a villain, he just wants to clear his name. Nimona still wants to be his partner, so she suggests him to help him solve who was responsible for what happened, because both are hated by people and it is better to be together, Ballister accepts and here begins the story of our protagonists in search of answers.

I want to start my opinion talking about the plot, even when I mentioned at the beginning that it was a simple plot but it worked very well I meant it, although there are different movies that have similar stories, they don't have the perfect combination of protagonists or the funny side that develops in the story, the strong point without a doubt are the very different personalities of Ballister and Nimona, making every moment very enjoyable no matter what situation they are in, also for being a pretty serious story from the beginning with the murder of the queen, these funny moments are not forced at all, it really comes out as something spontaneous that is not intended to be comedy but irony and that is something that is always very enjoyable in animated movies.

Regarding the rest of the story that I did not mention so as not to tell any spoiler clearly and that you can enjoy the film if you wish, I must say that the rest of the film has no waste, we find small stories, some secrets, some surprises that are fostering the foundations of the end of the story, although not everything is perfect at all times, I would say that the film if it sins of being easy to guess in the most important aspect, but at the same time it counteracts it with something that is completely unexpected, so I consider that it is a good balance in the film, so I have nothing to complain about, but rather applaud for that development.

In the visual aspect, it is a quite unusual animation style or at least I had not seen something similar and I liked it a lot, I could not describe or say the name because I do not know much of those terms, but visually speaking, it was really very enjoyable to watch, if the rest of the movies were made with that style of animation I would see them all.

The denouement of the story also seemed very good to me, maybe a little cliché, but considering all the good development from beginning to end, it is not something that bothered me, but it does leave the door open perhaps to a next film, but this is already an idea of mine, it may not even take place, but if it really happens, I will be one of those who will wait patiently to see it, because I really loved this one in all its aspects, so it is a film that I would recommend without a doubt, it is suitable for all audiences, although I would say that the older or more aware you are of things, you find certain interesting messages to the plot and each of the characters, which is another strong point, each character contributes something to the plot, not only the protagonists so it is to be appreciated as well.

Saludos queridos amigos de la comunidad, bienvenidos a una reseña que no tenía pensado hacer, pero al ver la película y llevarme una grata sorpresa realmente siento que se lo merece. Había leído varias reseñas ya sobre esta película y todas hablaban bastante bien de ella, pero yo no quise hacerme muchas ilusiones hasta verla por mi cuenta y hoy que tuve la tarde desocupada fue el momento perfecto para hacerlo. La película de la que les quiero hablar pertenece a Netflix y es un estreno reciente de este año, por lo que, sin más preámbulos, hablemos de “Nimona”.

La trama de esta película puede considerarse como algo sencillo, pero funciona bastante bien con el desarrollo de la historia, tomando en cuenta de que va de la persona inocente a la cual acusan de algún acto que desencadenó cierta problemática y la finalidad es descubrir quién fue el causante de los hechos, como decía, algo sencillo y típico en las películas de actos heroicos pero esta en particular tiene algo que la hace mucho más disfrutable que cualquier otra, pero es algo que quiero hablar más adelante, por ahora, quiero contarles el cómo comienza esta historia.

La película comienza contándonos la historia de un reino pacifico que vivía lleno de felicidad sin tener en cuenta los peligros que les acechaban desde las sombras, hasta que un día, esta oscuridad atacó destruyendo todo a su paso y cuando todo parecía haber llegado a su fin, una heroína llamada Gloriana empuñó su espada, atacando y haciendo retroceder a la oscuridad que los atacaba, gracias a esto se creo una sociedad de donde nacieron caballeros entrenados para cuidar al reino y mantener viva la historia, esperando que no se repita nuevamente, aún sabiendo que la oscuridad siempre los acecha.

Nos adelantamos 1000 años al futuro, donde se llevará acabo la investidura de nuevos caballeros que darán su vida por el reino, pero a diferencia de los anteriores años, uno de los seleccionados a ser entrenados como caballeros era alguien que no pertenecía a la descendencia real, algo que jamás se había visto antes y se considera como un nuevo cambio para el reino, así conocemos a nuestro protagonista Ballister, quien fue un niño sin hogar que desde siempre quiso convertirse en caballero y que siguiendo las reglas del reino nunca fuese logrado serlo pero la reina decidió darle una oportunidad al ver que aunque no perteneciera a una familia noble, su corazón era el de un héroe.

Ballister creció y se convirtió en uno de los mejores aspirantes a caballeros aprovechando aquella oportunidad que se le había bridando años atrás, pero parece que las personas no están del todo de acuerdo de dejar la seguridad del reino en manos de un plebeyo, esto no sólo ocurre sólo con las personas, también con sus otros compañeros aspirantes a caballeros quienes consideran que no pertenece a ellos, excepto por uno de ellos que realmente apoya a Ballister. El día de la ceremonia llega, todos se preparan y al recibir su espada Ballister siente cierta irregularidad, pero antes de decir algo llega el momento de salir a ser nombrados caballeros.

El primer aspirante es llamado, entrega su espada, la reina lo nombra caballero y le devuelve su espada, el siguiente en ser llamado es Ballister, entrega su espada, una vez es nombrado, la gente aplaude como signo de ser aceptado, cuando la reina le regresa su espada, es activado un mecanismo en el que la espada dispara en dirección a la reina, ocurre un caos y la reina ha muerto gracias a ello. Ballister debe esconderse porque ahora es buscado como el asesino de la reina. Por otro lado, conocemos a Nimona, una chica (que dice ser una villana) que aparece en el escondite de Ballister y dice querer ser su compañera de crímenes, Ballister le aclara que él no fue el responsable, por lo que no es un villano, sólo quiere limpiar su nombre. Nimona aún quiere ser su compañera, por lo que le sugiere ayudarlo a resolver quién fue el responsable de lo sucedido, porque ambos son odiados por las personas y es mejor estar juntos, Ballister acepta y aquí comienza la historia de nuestros protagonistas en búsqueda de respuestas.

Quiero comenzar mi opinión hablando de la trama, aún cuando mencioné al principio que era una trama sencilla pero que funcionaba muy bien lo decía en serio, aunque hayan distintas películas que tengan historias similares, no cuentan con la combinación perfecta de protagonistas o el lado gracioso que se desarrolla en la historia, el punto fuerte sin dudas son las personalidades tan distintas de Ballister y Nimona, haciendo que cada momento sea muy disfrutable sin importar la situación en la que se encuentren, además que para ser una historia bastante seria desde el principio con el asesinato de la reina, estos momentos graciosos no son nada forzados, realmente surge como algo espontaneo que no intenta ser comedia sino ironía y es algo que siempre es muy disfrutable en las películas animadas.

Con respecto al resto de la historia que no mencioné para no contar algún spoiler claramente y que puedan disfrutar de la película si así lo desean, igual debo decir que el resto de la película no tiene ningún desperdicio, nos encontramos con pequeñas historias, algunos secretos, unas sorpresas que van fomentando los cimientos del final de la historia, aunque no todo es perfecto en todo momento, diría que la película si peca de ser fácil de adivinar en el aspecto más importante, pero al mismo tiempo lo contrarresta con algo que es completamente inesperado, por lo que considero que es un buen equilibrio en la película, por lo que no tengo nada de qué quejarme, sino más bien aplaudir por ese desarrollo.

En el aspecto visual, es un estilo de animación bastante inusual o al menos yo no había visto algo similar y me gustó mucho, no sabría describir o decir el nombre porque desconozco mucho de esos términos, pero visualmente hablando, realmente fue muy disfrutable de ver, si el resto de películas se hicieran con ese estilo de animación me las vería todas.

El desenlace de la historia también me pareció muy bueno, quizás algo un tanto cliché, pero teniendo en cuenta todo el buen desarrollo desde principio a fin, no es algo que me molestara, pero sí deja la puerta abierta quizás a una siguiente película, pero esto ya es una idea mía, puede que ni siquiera se lleve a cabo, pero si realmente llega a suceder, seré uno de los que esperará pacientemente por verla, porque realmente me ha encantado esta en todos sus aspectos, por lo que es una película que recomendaría sin lugar a dudas, es acta para todo público, aunque diría que mientras más grande o más consciente seas de las cosas, le encuentras ciertos mensajes interesantes a la trama y a cada uno de los personajes, que es otro punto fuerte, cada personaje aporta algo a la trama, no sólo los protagonistas por lo que es de agradecer también.
