Greetings dear friends who love movies and series, welcome to a new review. Today for some reason I woke up wanting to see a movie with Ryan Reynolds who is another of the actors I like the most, so I was looking until I remembered a movie I saw two years ago and I loved it and I decided it would be the right one to watch today, so here I am with you wanting to share my opinion about it, so, without further ado, today I want to talk about the movie called "Free Guy", let's start.

I was thinking about how I could introduce the plot of the movie, but the truth is that it is something very simple and I could summarize it by saying that it is about a bank teller who for certain details discovers that he is actually a character in a video game where he does not really have a certain role and if that does not catch his attention, nothing will. This movie was released on August 13, 2021, it belongs to the comedy, science fiction and action genre. You can find it on Star+ in case you want to watch it, for now, let's talk a little more in depth about the movie.

The movie starts with the voice of our beloved protagonist Guy (Ryan Reynolds) talking a bit about "The Free City" and how people who wear sunglasses, are considered Heroes, plus they can do whatever they want, they do missions, they have the best clothes and the laws don't seem to apply to them and so we see a scene with how wacky The Free City seems to be and the havoc people with sunglasses wreak. Then we meet Guy, who considers himself a guy who has it all, a best friend, a goldfish, works at the bank, has a routine and is happy that way.

While Guy is on his way to work strange things happen around him, which makes you think that the movie makes no sense at all, like someone robs a store, but everyone reacts as if it was something from an ordinary day and so our dear friend Guy arrives at his job, where he feels that he is very happy, but he just lacks the one thing he doesn't have, love. Within seconds they get to rob the bank, but as I mentioned before, it seems that for them it is the most common thing and something that happens constantly.

On the other hand, we meet a girl with sunglasses who is another protagonist, with whom Guy falls in love, tries to follow him and when he is close, a train runs over him. While the girl with sunglasses disconnects from the game and this is where we discover that we are inside a game where those who wear sunglasses are players, but the others are npc (non-playable character). And so the same scene of the beginning of Guy is repeated again, doing the same routine, but something changes Guy does a different action than usual and this makes the other characters in the game adopt a strange personality for something that is not in their programming.

The bank robbery is repeated again and Guy sees the girl with the sunglasses again, so he decides that to talk to her he needs glasses and tries to steal them from a player (who was trying to rob the bank) and succeeds. When he puts on the sunglasses, these allow them to see things that only players could, allowing this npc to do things that no other can and venturing to improve their skills and with a development full of lots of action and comedy.

The truth is that I loved the story of this movie, because there are two ways to see it, on the one hand we have the video game with a story a little crazy for obvious reasons, but also out of the video game there is another story which is a more real argument and this makes both end up complementing each other, creating a very complete story with moments of great fun with the creativity that gives the video game and also many moments of action and tension with the story of the real world, I was amazed if I'm honest, it is one of the films that has combined two types of history making a very well constructed.

Another thing I loved is the amount of references that can be found in the film to other movies, comics and other video games, which makes it a great surprise to find winks to many other things and this makes it very entertaining, because they are things that you do not expect, but once they happen they leave you with a smile from ear to ear or at least that happened in my case, it was a story that I really enjoyed and really for the two hours that the film lasts it was short, because I was so fully involved that I did not want it to end.

Another of the things so entertaining is the humor, being a video game what is presented to us as the main thing, many things happen that in the real world would be impossible and this opens many doors to the creativity of humor and that is just what happens, thus giving us surreal scenes that end up being very funny for the same reason, plus the character of Guy is amazing, thus giving much contribution to the comedy even with just his presence and this speaks very well of the film, because it allows it to be enjoyable without the need to exaggerate or force a particular type of humor.

I almost don't usually talk about actors' performances, but in this case I will give myself the luxury of saying that I found Ryan Reynolds' performance incredible, he has such a great way of adapting to a role where he plays a video game character who has a moment of crisis for discovering that he is part of a video game and he does it in the most natural way possible, because of this kind of things he is one of the actors I enjoy watching in movies the most, he always does a very good job and at least for me, all the movies where he appears are always very funny.

I say goodbye saying that it is a movie for all audiences, so it really would be a good choice to enjoy with the family, it is not necessary to know about video games or anything like that, certainly there are references, but nothing that affects the story of the film, so you should put this movie on your list of pending to see and I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot.

Hoy por alguna razón me levanté con ganas de ver alguna película donde participara Ryan Reynolds quien es otro de los actores que más me gusta, por lo que estuve buscando hasta que recordé una película que vi hace dos años y me encantó y decidí que sería la indicada para verla el día de hoy, por lo que aquí estoy con ustedes queriendo compartirles mi opinión sobre ella, así que, sin más preámbulos, el día de hoy quiero hablarles de la película llamada “Free Guy: Tomando el control”, comencemos.

Estuve pensando de qué manera podría hacer la introducción sobre la trama de la película, pero la verdad es que es algo muy sencillo y lo podría resumir diciendo que trata sobre un cajero de un banco que por ciertos detalles descubre que en realidad es un personaje de un video juego donde realmente no tiene un papel determinado y si eso no llama su atención, nada lo hará. Esta película se estrenó el 13 de agosto del año 2021, pertenece al género de comedia, ciencia ficción y acción. Pueden encontrarla en Star+ por si desean verla, por ahora, hablemos un poco más a profundidad de la película.

La película comienza con la voz de nuestro querido protagonista Guy (Ryan Reynolds) hablando un poco sobre “La Ciudad Libre” y cómo las personas que utilizan gafas de sol, son considerados como Héroes, además de que pueden hacer lo que deseen, realizan misiones, tienen las mejores ropas y las leyes parecen no aplicar en ellos y así vemos una escena con lo descabellado que parece ser La Ciudad Libre y los estragos que hacen las personas con gafas de sol. Luego conocemos a Guy, quien se considera un tipo que lo tiene todo, un mejor amigo, un pez dorado, trabaja en el banco, tiene una rutina y es feliz así.

Mientras Guy se dirige a su trabajo ocurren cosas extrañas a su alrededor, lo que hace pensar que la película no tiene nada de sentido, como alguien roba una tienda, pero todos reaccionan como si fuese algo de un día cualquiera y así nuestro querido amigo Guy llega a su trabajo, donde sienta que es muy feliz, pero sólo le falta la única cosa que no tiene, amor. En segundos llegan a robar el banco, pero como mencionaba antes, parece que para ellos es la cosa más común y algo que ocurre constantemente.

Por otro lado, conocemos a una chica con gafas de sol quien es otra protagonista, de la que Guy se enamora, intenta seguirle y cuando está cerca, un tren lo atropella. Mientras la chica de gafas de sol se desconecta del juego y es así donde descubrimos que estamos dentro de un juego donde quienes usan gafas de sol son jugadores, pero los demás son npc (personaje no jugable). Y así se vuelve a repetir la misma escena del principio de Guy, haciendo la misma rutina, pero algo cambia Guy hace una acción distinta a lo de siempre y esto hace que los otros personajes del juego adopten una personalidad extraña por algo que no está en su programación.

Se vuelve a repetir el robo del banco y Guy ve de nuevo a la chica de las gafas de sol, por lo que decide que para hablar con ella necesita unas gafas e intenta robárselas a un jugador (quien intentaba robar el banco) y lo logra. Cuando se coloca las gafas de sol, estas les permiten ver cosas que sólo los jugadores podían, permitiendo que este npc haga cosas que ningún otro puede y aventurándose a mejorar sus habilidades y con un desarrollo lleno de mucha acción y comedia.

La verdad es que la historia de esta película me encantó, porque hay dos maneras de verlo, por un lado tenemos el videojuego con una historia un poco descabellada por obvias razones, pero también fuera del videojuego ocurren otra historia la cuál si es un argumento más real y esto hace que ambos se terminen complementando, creando así una historia muy completa con momentos de mucha gracia con la creatividad que le otorgan al videojuego y también muchos momentos de acción y tensión con la historia del mundo real, yo quedé maravillado si les soy sincero, es una de las películas que ha combinado dos tipos de historia haciendo una muy bien construida.

Otra cosa que me encantó es la cantidad de referencias que se pueden encontrar en la película hacia a otras películas, comics y otros videojuegos, lo que hace que sea una gran sorpresa encontrarte con guiños de muchas otras cosas y esto lo hace muy entretenido, porque son cosas que no te esperas, pero una vez suceden te dejan con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja o al menos así sucedió en mi caso, fue una historia que disfruté mucho y realmente para las dos horas que dura la película se me hizo corto, porque estuve tan metido de lleno que no quería que se terminara.

Otra de las cosas tan entretenidas es el humor, al ser un videojuego lo que se nos presenta como lo principal, ocurren muchas cosas que en el mundo real serían imposibles y esto abre muchas puertas a la creatividad de humor y es justo lo que ocurre, dándonos así escenas surrealistas que terminan siendo muy graciosas por el mismo motivo, además que el personaje de Guy es increíble, dando así mucho aporte a la comedia incluso con sólo su presencia y esto habla muy bien de la película, porque permite que sea disfrutable sin necesidad de exagerar o forzar un tipo de humor determinado.

Casi no suelo hablar sobre las actuaciones de los actores, pero en este caso me daré el lujo de decir que la interpretación de Ryan Reynolds me pareció increíble, tiene una manera tan genial de adaptarse a un papel donde interpreta a un personaje de videojuego que tiene un momento de crisis por descubrir que es parte de un videojuego y lo hace de la forma más natural posible, por este tipo de cosas es uno de los actores que más disfruto ver en las películas, siempre hace un trabajo muy bueno y al menos para mí, todas las películas donde aparece siempre son muy divertidas.

Me despido diciendo que es una película para todo público, por lo que realmente sería una buena opción para disfrutar en familia, no es necesario conocer de videojuegos ni nada por el estilo, ciertamente hay referencias, pero nada que afecte la historia de la película, por lo que deberían colocar esta película en su lista de pendientes por ver y estoy seguro que la van a disfrutar mucho.
