More than a week ago I reviewed "Sing" (if you want to see it you can do it here) and this movie has a sequel, so considering how much I liked the first one, I took today to enjoy the second one and bring you my assessment and opinion of the movie. Could this one be up to the level of its successor? We'll talk about it later, for now, with nothing more to add, today I want to talk to you about the movie "Sing 2", let's get started.

The plot in this film, unlike the first one, is no longer about a competition, it is directly about performing the most incredible show ever presented to affirm that all the effort they have been making has really paid off (although I would say that this should not depend so much on the outside, but it is already part of the film that it does) and so our beloved protagonists face a new challenge, a challenge for which, according to the critics, they are not prepared. Now, let's talk about the film in more depth.

The film begins by showing us one of the musicals (which by the way is about Alice in Wonderland) that Buster Moon presents with our protagonists in his theater with the intention of showing their potential to a talent scout who belongs to the entertainment capital of the world, but she leaves without even waiting for the show to end, So Moon goes after her to get her impressions and she tells him in the most honest way that they are not as good as they think, the show is nice, but it is not what they are looking for the world of big entertainment, they can still be a local success, but they will never succeed in the big leagues.

This clearly affects Moon, even making him doubt himself, but after a little talk with Nana, he regains his strength and is determined to go with our protagonists to the big city and be part of an audition in the big leagues, at first our protagonists also have doubts because of what the talent scout said, but this does not end up preventing them from undertaking the journey in the direction of the big city. Once there when they try to enter the auditions, the answer is that they can't do it without an appointment (which they don't have) but they find a way to enter and once they do, they see many other great talents that will participate.

One by one the groups make their presentation and Mr. Crystal (the owner) is the one who will select the group that will do the next big show, but each group that passes is discarded, even others are discarded a few seconds after starting. Our protagonists manage to be the next ones and when Moon is giving the presentation of what the show is about, they are discarded without even starting.

Mr. Crystal wants a novel show, something different and listens to one of the ideas of our protagonists about a show with aliens, robots and mentions Clay Calloway, which arouses his interest as he is a fan of Clay Calloway, he interrogates a little about the show, if he has permission to sing his song and if he has some kind of relationship with him, so he should be able to integrate him into the show, Moon lies and says that he can do it and so he gets to keep the big show, but Mr. Crystal tells him very seriously not to do anything that will make him look bad, and so begins the race to put on a big show in 3 weeks, in addition to finding Clay Calloway who disappeared 15 years ago after the death of his wife.

I will divide my opinion in different points, starting with the story, the fact that there was no competition as such, allowed to explore many more things that were not done in the first film and this gave it a totally different air and an essence of its own making so beyond the musical aspect, these are two films that work perfectly and do not repeat topics, this made that more than enough screen time was dedicated to each of the characters, which are the next one I want to talk about next.

Unlike the first film where the development of the characters was based entirely on their musical training, here we are shown much more beyond that, because after having developed in the field that each one wanted, they face new challenges a little away from the music, which really deconcentrates them and makes them consider new things, so they end up being more aware of what they really want and it seems to me a better development than the first film, because it goes beyond artists, but also as people (or animals in this case, haha).

One of the most important aspects and clearly what would draw the most attention to see the film is the musical, the film is focused on it, so I think that the selection of songs used should be something varied and perfectly functional for the moments that will be presented, in the first film I found a fairly successful selection, so I thought it would be difficult to replicate, but I was completely wrong, the most interesting thing about the new selection for this film is the variety of songs, rhythms and styles that each character gives, even at the time of the presentations of the other groups can be appreciated although very briefly from Adele songs, to Eminem and I think something very successful, different and enjoyable for different tastes of the viewers.

Last but not least, apart from the musical what made me enjoy the most was the comedy they handle, I couldn't tell you if I'm an easy laugher, but I enjoyed the movie like a child in each of the scenes that my favorite character, Miss Crawly, appears, but the whole movie in general is full of good comic moments, although not only that clearly, there are also moments of tension, something sad and overcoming, they keep a good balance at all times, but clearly what stands out a bit is the comedy and this makes the movie completely enjoyable.

It is complicated for a sequel to surpass the success of the first film or to be better, clearly there are cases where this happens but it is not always the case, there are those who prefer that if a film was successful, it ended there so as not to damage it with a continuation, but I would say that this one fits perfectly in the list of few movies where the second part is much better than the first one and I would say that all those who have seen both can agree with me and I would say that this is due just to what I commented above, this is a movie that has its own essence and that is what made it shine more than the first one or at least that is what I consider.

I finish saying that it is a movie that I recommend even more than the first one and that says a lot because I liked the first one, but really this one is even better, besides it can be seen for all audiences, it is a pretty nice movie that teaches many things and good messages in movies are always worth watching. Saludos queridos amigos de la comunidad, bienvenidos a una nueva reseña ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Espero que bastante bien. Hace más de una semana hice una reseña sobre “Canta” (si desean verla pueden hacerlo aquí) y esta película tiene una secuela, por lo que teniendo en cuenta lo mucho que me gustó la primera, me tomé el día de hoy para disfrutar la segunda y traerles mi valoración y opinión de la película. ¿Podría estar esta a la altura de su sucesora? Lo hablaremos más adelante, por ahora, sin nada más que agregar, el día de hoy quiero hablarles de la película “Canta 2”, empecemos.

La trama en esta película a diferencia de la primera, ya no va de una competencia, directamente va de realizar el show más increíble que se haya presentado antes para afirmar que todo el esfuerzo que han venido realizando realmente ha dado sus frutos (aunque diría que esto no debiera depender tanto del exterior, pero ya es parte de la película que sí lo sea) y así nuestros queridos protagonistas se enfrentan en un nuevo reto, un reto para el que, según la crítica, no están preparados. Ahora, hablemos de la película más a fondo.

La película comienza mostrándonos una de las obras musicales(la cual por cierto es sobre Alicia en el país de las maravillas) que presenta Buster Moon junto a nuestros protagonistas en su teatro con la intención de mostrar su potencial ante una cazatalentos que pertenece a la capital mundial del entretenimiento, pero esta se marcha sin siquiera esperar a que termine el show, por lo que Moon va tras ella para conocer sus impresiones y esta de la forma más honesta le dice que ellos no son tan buenos como creen, el show es simpático, pero no es lo que están buscando para el mundo del gran entretenimiento, pueden seguir siendo un éxito local, pero jamás triunfarán en las grandes ligas.

Esto claramente afecta a Moon, haciendo incluso que dude de si mismo, pero luego de una pequeña charla con Nana, éste recobra sus fuerzas y está decidido a ir junto a nuestros protagonistas a la gran ciudad y ser parte de una audición en las grandes ligas, al principio nuestros protagonistas también tienen dudas por lo que dijo la cazatalentos, pero esto no termina impidiendo que emprendan el viaje en dirección a la gran ciudad. Una vez allí al intentar entrar a las audiciones, la respuesta es que no pueden hacerlo sin una cita (cosa que no tienen) pero encuentran la manera de entrar y una vez lo hacen, ven a muchos otros grandes talentos que participarán.

Uno a uno los grupos van haciendo su presentación y el señor Crystal (el dueño) es quien seleccionará al grupo que hará el siguiente gran show, pero cada grupo que pasa lo va descartando, incluso a otros los descarta a los pocos segundos de empezar. Nuestros protagonistas logran ser los siguientes y cuando Moon está dando la presentación de qué va la obra, son descartados sin siquiera comenzar.

El Señor Crystal quiere un show novedoso, algo distinto y escucha una de las ideas de nuestros protagonistas sobre un show con extraterrestres, robots y menciona a Clay Calloway, cosa que despierta su interés al ser un fan de Clay Calloway, interroga un poco sobre el show, si tiene permisos para cantar su canción y si tiene algún tipo de relación con él, por lo que debería poder integrarlo al show, por lo que Moon miente y dice que sí puede lograrlo y así consigue quedarse con el gran show, pero El señor Crystal le dice muy seriamente que no haga nada que le haga quedar mal, por lo que así comienza la carrera para montar un gran show en 3 semanas, además de encontrar a Clay Calloway quien desapareció hace 15 años después de la muerte de su esposa.

Voy a dividir mi opinión en diferentes puntos, empezando por la historia, el hecho de que no existiese una competencia como tal, permitió que se explorarán muchas más cosas que no se hicieron en la primera película y esto le dio un aire totalmente distinto y una esencia propia haciendo así que más allá del aspecto musical, estas son dos películas que funcionan a la perfección y no repiten tópicos, esto hizo que se le dedicara un tiempo en pantalla más que suficiente para cada uno de los personajes, los cuales son el siguiente del que les quiero hablar a continuación.

A diferencia de la primera película donde el desarrollo de los personajes se basaba completamente en su formación musical, aquí nos muestran mucho más allá de eso, pues luego de haberse desarrollado en el ámbito que cada uno quería, se enfrentan a nuevos retos un poco alejados de la música, lo cual realmente los desconcentra y hace que se planteen nuevas cosas, por lo que terminan siendo más conscientes de lo que realmente desean y me parece un desarrollo mejor al de la primera película, porque va más allá de artistas, sino también como personas (o animales en este caso, jaja).

Uno de los aspectos más importantes y claramente lo que más llamaría la atención para ver la película es lo musical, la película está centrada en ello, por lo que considero que la selección de canciones que se utilizan debería ser algo variado y perfectamente funcional para los momentos que se vayan presentando, en la primera película me pareció una selección bastante acertada, por lo que pensé que sería difícil de replicar, pero estaba completamente equivocado, lo más interesante de la nueva selección para esta película es la variedad de canciones, ritmos y estilos que cada personaje le da, incluso en el momento de las presentaciones de los otros grupos se aprecia aunque de forma muy breve desde canciones de Adele, hasta Eminem y me parece algo muy acertado, diferente y disfrutable para distintos gustos de los espectadores.

Por último pero no menos importante, aparte de lo musical lo que más me hizo disfrutar fue la comedia que manejan, no sabría decirles si soy de risa fácil, pero disfruté la película como un niño en cada una de las escenas que aparece mi personaje favorito, la señorita Crawly, pero toda la película en general está llena de buenos momentos cómicos, aunque no sólo eso claramente, también hay momentos de tensión, algo tristes y de superación, mantienen un buen equilibrio en todo momento, pero claramente lo que sobresale un poco es la comedia y esto hace que la película sea completamente disfrutable.

Es complicado que una secuela supere el éxito que tiene la primera película o que sea mejor, claramente hay casos donde esto sucede pero no siempre es así, hay quienes prefieren que si una película tuvo éxito, terminé allí para no dañarla con una continuación, pero diría que esta entra perfectamente en la lista de pocas películas donde la segunda parte es mucho mejor que la primera y diría que todos aquellos que hayan visto ambas pueden estar de acuerdo conmigo y diría que esto se debe justo a lo que comentaba más arriba, esta es una película que tiene su propia esencia y eso fue lo que la hizo brillar más que la primera o al menos eso es lo que considero yo.

Finalizo diciendo que es una película que recomiendo incluso mucho más que la primera y eso dice mucho porque la primera me gustó bastante, pero realmente esta es incluso mejor, además de que puede verse para todo público, es una película bastante linda que enseña muchas cosas y los buenos mensajes en películas siempre valen la pena verlo.
