Greetings dear movie lovers, today I was reading a list about the scariest movies and as I am always looking for one to see, I chose one, but it was one that I had already seen, but I wanted to remember how it was, since I saw it some years ago and I wouldn't know if I could classify this movie as a horror movie, but that's something I want to discuss later and explain why, but I don't want to make this longer, so today I want to talk about a movie called "Terrifier", let's start with the review.

Terrifier is a film released in 2016 at a festival and is an American production of an independent production company, this film belongs to the genre of horror, slasher and gore, so with that you may already know what you will see most in the film, but in this story we are presented with a very macabre story where two girls who enjoyed Halloween end up crossing with a clown with a very disturbing appearance and that quickly the girls discover that it is a psychopath who intends to murder them without mercy.

Let's talk about the film more in depth, the film begins with a TV tuning a channel with an interview, in this interview the presenter is next to the only survivor of a massacre in Miles County, when they focus on the survivor is a girl with a completely deformed face who tells a little of how she feels with that appearance, then they talk about her attacker, a man identified "Art the clown" and just at that moment, the person who is watching the TV is Art, who we see how he is preparing with many things to go out again.

Then we see how once the program ended the presenter is talking to someone on the phone about how she felt so uncomfortable with the survivor, apparently this one had certain attacks, so she was scared to think that maybe she was going to attack her too, plus the appearance of the survivor made her want to vomit (I'll be very honest with you, her appearance is really uncomfortable to see), so she keeps making jokes on the phone about it until she hangs up, gets up to investigate a strange noise and out of nowhere appears the survivor, who attacks her, in such an aggressive way that disfigures her face too, leaving her the same or worse than her and so begins the movie.

In the next scene we observe two girls who are coming back from a Halloween party heading to their car, they are Tara and Dawn and they are a little drunk, so Tara tells Dawn that she can't drive in that state, but she can't do it either, so they plan to go to a place to eat and hope that they are sober again, but before heading there, Tara notices a man dressed as a clown (Yes, Art) and Dawn starts to joke, but the clown quickly disappears from their sight and so they decide to go to eat at a nearby pizza place.

To no one's surprise, after a while Art also appears in the pizzeria and sits at a nearby table, Tara watches him and Art does not take his eyes off her, even makes some strange expressions, Dawn gets up and takes pictures with Art, but he does not even flinch, at all times he only sees Tara, as if for him Dawn does not exist. Art gets a ring and gives it to Tara and then goes to the bathroom, so that a few minutes later the owner takes him out by force for some reason that we are not shown, the girls leave again, they get to their car and it turns out that it has flat tires, on the other hand, Art returned to the pizzeria and made a butchery for revenge. After a few minutes, on the radio there is news of some terrible murders in a pizzeria and they suspect a man dressed as a clown, so Dawn knows which clown it is, but at that moment, Art appears, will they manage to escape from him?

From this point on I will only talk about my opinion of the movie without mentioning spoilers, so, if you want to see the movie, you can continue reading without problems, I will start with respect to the story, I must say that from the beginning it manages to catch your attention, usually movies do not show you the killer so early in the story, but here from the beginning you can already witness even how evil the killer is, this is a very strong beginning and according it advances I consider that it does not diminish this effect, the only thing it does is to increase, so it is an unparalleled and unexpected story.

This movie had such an impacting story that if you ask me, I would consider Art to be one of the most feared killers/monsters in cinema today or at least the one that I think can really impose fear just by looking at him and it's something that wasn't happening recently, for me the last ones that had this effect were also Jason, Michael Myers and Leatherface, but I would say that Art is positioned next to these too, that's how well this character is built, for me he is the pure representation of evil as far as cinema today is clearly concerned and that's the key to the success of the movie.

I want to talk about what I mentioned at the beginning of the terror, I understand perfectly why it feels like a horror movie, because that's what it generates, but the amount of gore in the film I consider that far exceeds the terror, to the point that it becomes grotesque and if you combine this with a psychopathic clown who has no remorse and does not care about doing harm, you have the perfect combination of a time bomb that, as I well mention, that terror works is because of the above, it is not that terror of fear of the unknown, it is more a terror of panic and this seems to me even stronger than any paranormal movie.

I finish by saying that this is a very strong movie, I would not recommend it to someone with a weak stomach, because the things you see in the movie really are very extreme, so if you are someone who has never seen any gore or knows that this kind of movies is not your thing, I highly recommend not to watch it for obvious reasons, but that aside, I would say that the movie is very good in its genre, it is not the most complex story, but it is one of the most entertaining, plus there is a certain twist in the plot that I am sure many will not expect just as I did not expect it.

Saludos queridos amantes del cine, el día de hoy estuve leyendo una lista sobre películas más aterradoras y como siempre ando en busca de alguna para ver, elegí una, pero fue una que ya había visto, pero tenía ganas de recordar el cómo era, ya que la vi hace algunos años y no sabría si clasificar esta película como una de terror, pero es algo de lo que quiero debatir más adelante y explicarles el por qué, pero no quiero alargar más esto, por lo que, el día de hoy quiero hablarles de una película la cual lleva por nombre “Terrifier”, comencemos con la reseña.

Terrifier es una película estrenada en el año 2016 en un festival y es una producción estadounidense de una productora independiente, esta película pertenece al genero de terror, slasher y gore, por lo que ya con eso quizás puedan saber qué es lo que más se verá en la película, pero en esta historia se nos presenta una historia muy macabra en donde dos chicas quienes disfrutaban de Halloween se terminan cruzando con un payaso con una apariencia muy inquietante y que rápidamente las chicas descubren que es un psicópata que tiene intenciones de asesinarlas sin piedad alguna.

Hablemos de la película más a profundidad, la película comienza con un televisor sintonizando un canal con una entrevista, en esta entrevista la presentadora esta junto a la única sobreviviente de una masacre en el condado de Miles, cuando enfocan a la sobreviviente es una chica con la cara completamente deformada quien cuenta un poco de cómo se siente con esa apariencia, luego hablan de su atacante, un hombre identificado “Art el payaso” y justo en ese momento, la persona que está viendo el televisor es Art, a quien vemos cómo se está preparando con muchas cosas para salir nuevamente.

Luego vemos cómo una vez que terminó el programa la presentadora se encuentra hablando con alguien por teléfono del cómo se sentía tan incómoda con la sobreviviente, al parecer esta tenía ciertos ataques, por lo que le asustaba pensar que quizás le fuese a atacar también a ella, además que la apariencia de la sobreviviente le daban ganas de vomitar (les seré muy honesto, su apariencia realmente es muy incómoda de ver), por lo que sigue haciendo bromas por teléfono sobre ello hasta que cuelga, se levanta para investigar un ruido extraño y de la nada aparece la sobreviviente, quien la ataca de una forma tan agresiva que le desfigura el rostro también, dejándola igual o peor que ella y así da inicio a la película.

En la siguiente escena observamos a dos chicas quienes regresan de una fiesta de Halloween en dirección a su auto, ellas son Tara y Dawn y se encuentan un poco borrachas, por lo que Tara le dice a Dawn que no puede conducir en ese estado, pero ella tampoco puede hacerlo, por lo que piensan ir a un lugar a comer y esperar que estén sobrias nuevamente, pero antes de dirigirse allí, Tara observa a un hombre vestido de payaso (Sí, Art) y Dawn comienza a bromear, pero el payaso desaparece de sus vistas rápidamente y así deciden irse a comer a una pizzería cercana.

Para sorpresa de nadie, luego de un rato aparece Art también en la pizzería y se sienta en una mesa cercana, Tara lo observa y Art no le quita la mirada, incluso hace algunas expresiones extrañas, Dawn se levanta y se hace fotografías con Art, pero éste ni se inmuta, en todo momento sólo ve a Tara, como si para él Dawn no existiese. Art consigue un anillo y se lo da a Tara y luego se dirige al baño, para que unos minutos después el dueño lo saque a la fuerza por algún motivo que no nos muestran, las chicas se van nuevamente, llegan a su auto y resulta que tiene los cauchos pinchados, por otro lado, Art regresó a la pizzería e hizo una carnicería por venganza. Pasados unos minutos, en la radio dan la noticia de unos terribles asesinatos en una pizzería y se sospecha de un hombre visto de payaso, por lo que Dawn sabe de qué payaso se trata, pero en ese momento, Art aparece, ¿lograrán escapar de él?

A partir de este punto sólo hablaré de mi opinión de la película sin mencionar spoiler, así que, si desean ver la película, pueden seguir leyendo sin problemas, empezaré con respecto a la historia, debo decir que desde un principio consigue llamarte la atención, normalmente las películas no te muestran al asesino tan temprano en la historia, pero aquí desde el principio ya se puede presenciar incluso lo malvado que es el asesino, esto es un comienzo muy fuerte y acorde avanza considero que no disminuye este efecto, lo único que hace es ir aumentando, por lo que es una historia sinigual e inesperada.

Esta película tuvo una historia tan impactante que si me lo preguntan, consideraría que Art es uno de los asesinos/monstruos más temidos del cine actualmente o por lo menos el que creo que realmente puede imponer miedo tan sólo con verlo y es algo que no sucedía recientemente, para mí los últimos que tenían este efecto también fueron Jason, Michael Myers y Leatherface, pero diría que Art se posiciona junto a estos también, así de bien está construido este personaje, para mí es la representación pura de la maldad en lo que cine actual se refiere claramente y eso es la clave del éxito de la película.

Quiero hablar de lo que mencionaba al principio del terror, entiendo perfectamente por qué se siente como una película de terror, porque es lo que genera, pero la cantidad de gore que hay en la película considero que supera por mucho el terror, hasta el punto que pasa a ser grotesco y si combinas esto junto a un payaso psicópata que no tiene ningún tipo de remordimiento y no le importa hacer daño, tienes la combinación perfecta de una bomba de tiempo que, como bien menciono, ese terror funciona es por lo anterior, no es ese terror de miedo a lo desconocido, es más un terror de pánico y esto me parece incluso más fuerte que cualquier película paranormal.

Finalizo diciendo que esta es una película muy fuerte, no se la recomendaría a alguien de estómago débil, porque las cosas que se ven en la película realmente son muy extremas, por lo que si eres alguien que nunca ha visto algo de gore o sabe que ese tipo de películas no es lo suyo, recomiendo encarecidamente que no la vean por obvias razones, pero quitando eso, diría que la película es muy buena en su género, no es la historia más compleja, pero si de las más entretenidas, además que hay cierto giro en la trama que estoy seguro muchos no se esperarán al igual que yo no me lo esperaba.
