Película de ciencia ficción, viajes en el tiempo, personajes atrapados en un loop, pueden ser la base para un gran número de historias con características tales como terror, thriller, comedia, suspenso, acción, este tipo de historias me gustan mucho porque a pesar de que existe un gran número de este tipo de películas hace que sea muy difícil ser original, pero eso no evita que se pueda crear una historias muy entretenidas y hasta crear una buena base de fans; en lo personal siempre disfruto las películas en dónde el tema principal es sobre alguien atrapado en un día y que debe vivirlo por un largo tiempo hasta saber cómo salir de esa situación, como dije antes no son originales, pero si son bien hechas (como todos historia) se puede pasar un buen rato viéndolas.

Science fiction movie, time travel, characters trapped in a loop, can be the basis for a large number of stories with features such as horror, thriller, comedy, suspense, action, this kind of stories I like a lot because although there is a large number of such films makes it very difficult to be original, but that does not prevent you can create a very entertaining stories and even create a good fan base; personally I always enjoy movies where the main theme is about someone trapped in a day and must live it for a long time until they know how to get out of that situation, as I said before they are not original, but if they are well done (like all stories) you can have a good time watching them.
En "Boss Level" veremos la historia de Roy Pulver, un ex militar quien sirvió en los Delta Force vivir el mismo violento día una y otra vez, solo puede reiniciarlo en el momento que muere; él no calcula cuánto tiempo está atrapado en el loop, pero sabe que hay algo que debe hacer para poder recuperar su vida anterior; para poder encontrar una respuesta del porque está en esa situación y él sabe que su ex esposa puede ser la que lo puede ayudar, pero justamente una serie de asesinos evitarán que pueda reencontrarse con su ex pareja para revertir todo lo que le sucede, es entonces que deberá aprender una y otra vez de sus errores hasta que descubra la única forma de escapar.
In "Boss Level" we will see the story of Roy Pulver, a former military man who served in the Delta Force living the same violent day over and over again, he can only restart it the moment he dies; he does not calculate how long he is trapped in the loop, but he knows that there is something he must do to recover his former life; To find an answer to why he is in this situation and he knows that his ex-wife can be the one who can help him, but a series of murderers will prevent him from meeting his ex-partner to reverse everything that happens to him, then he must learn again and again from his mistakes until he discovers the only way to escape.
Este es un divertido film, tiene acción, ciencia ficción, comedia (sin llegar a ser exagerada), es una buena mezcla de todo esto, el tema de recrear lo que sucede en los juegos de vídeo es algo que me ha gustado; su director Joe Carnahan quien está muy unido a lo que son películas de acción, tanto en la dirección, guion y como productor, en esta película y con tan poco presupuesto hace un buen uso del tiempo y de elección de escenas para hacer buenas escenas de acción, preferiblemente en sus primeros minutos llenos de persecución, disparos y explosiones, pienso que este tipo de films deben estar muy pendiente de los detalles por lo repetitiva de las escenas y así tampoco se pierde continuidad; Carnahan hace un buen trabajo muy apegado al costo de producción sabiendo en dónde poder hacer grandes escenas y enfocándose después en escenas pequeñas, pero importantes.
La historia fue creada por Chris y Eddie Borey, entre ellos junto a Carnahan escribieron un guion divertido, muy influenciado de los juegos de vídeo de los 80' y 90', esto es algo que se nota por las diferentes tareas que debe superar el protagonista cuando le toca enfrentar el mismo día, pero lo mejor es que si hay algo que se haga siempre en un loop justamente eso es lo juegos de vídeo en donde siempre debes superar un obstáculo o misión para llegar a otro nivel y mientras juegas puedes fallar, solo nos queda aprender de los fallos y buscar una solución para superar esa misión, justamente eso sucede en este film en la primera mitad del film después la historia evoluciona hasta que un hombre que pareciera que no tuviera un motivo verdadero en su vida, gracias a todo lo que le sucede obtiene el máximo motivo para luchar no solo para volver a su vida normal sino para salvar a lo que más quiere, no tengo dudas de que la historia es una de las mejores cosas de este film.
This is a fun film, it has action, science fiction, comedy (without being exaggerated), it is a good mix of all this, the theme of recreating what happens in video games is something that I liked; its director Joe Carnahan who is very attached to what are action movies, both in the direction, script and as a producer, in this film and with so little budget makes good use of time and choice of scenes to make good action scenes, preferably in its first minutes full of chase, shooting and explosions, I think this type of films should be very aware of the details by the repetitive scenes and thus no continuity is lost; Carnahan does a good job very attached to the cost of production knowing where to make big scenes and then focusing on small but important scenes.
The story was created by Chris and Eddie Borey, between them together with Carnahan they wrote a funny script, very influenced by the video games of the 80' and 90', this is something that is noticeable by the different tasks that the protagonist must overcome when he has to face the same day, but the best thing is that if there is something that is always done in a loop just that is the video games where you must always overcome an obstacle or mission to reach another level and while playing you can fail, The only thing left is to learn from the failures and find a solution to overcome that mission, just that happens in this film in the first half of the film then the story evolves until a man who seems to have no real reason in his life, thanks to everything that happens to him gets the ultimate reason to fight not only to return to his normal life but to save what he loves most, I have no doubt that the story is one of the best things about this film.
Desde que vi The Purge 2 y Capitán América: The Winter Soldier, he pensado que Frank Grillo es un buen actor para películas de acción, en este film es otro gran ejemplo de eso, él parece que ha creado una sociedad con el director de este film ya que volverán a trabajar juntos en el film "Copshop" y personalmente espero el remake de The Raid, pero hablando de este film, no diré que Grillo gane un gran premio del cine, pero su desempeño como héroe de acción es como volver a ver películas de los 80' y 90', tiene la actitud para hacerlo y está historia es perfecta para su Interpretación; de Mel Gibson es un gran trabajo con sus monólogos muy de gran villano, por momentos si interpretación junto a la de Grillo la sentí como una parodia de esos films de acción de 30 años atrás, nada de burla sino más bien un homenaje a todo lo que se vio y le dio mucha fama a muchos actores.
Ever since I saw The Purge 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I have thought that Frank Grillo is a good actor for action movies, in this film he is another great example of that, he seems to have created a partnership with the director of this film as they will work together again in the film "Copshop" and I personally look forward to the remake of The Raid, but talking about this film, I won't say that Grillo will win a big movie award, but his performance as an action hero is like watching movies from the 80's and 90's again, he has the attitude to do it and this story is perfect for his performance; Mel Gibson is a great job with his monologues very much like a great villain, at times his performance together with that of Grillo felt like a parody of those action films of 30 years ago, nothing of mockery but rather a tribute to everything that was seen and gave a lot of fame to many actors.
Boss Level es un divertido y simple film, he leído que tiene mucha influencia de "Edge of Tomorrow" y es verdad, hay muchas cosas muy parecidas, pero también a otros films, pero como dije antes la influencia de juegos de vídeo no solo tiene un peso en las escenas de acción sino también en las de humor; me sorprendió de que fuera muy entretenida porque la vi con muy poca expectativa; no es un film original y su producción es muy pequeña, pero no afecta para nada el desarrollo del film, tiene buenas escenas de acción, buenos y divertidos personajes, en realidad la pasé bien, puede ser forzada con respecto a explicar todo lo que le sucede al personaje principal, pero no creo que sirve y al terminarla no dejaba de pensar que si fuera sido estrenada a mediados de los 90' protagonizada por un actor famoso para esa época, seguramente fuera sido un gran éxito; por todo lo antes descrito si les gusta los films de acción entonces pueden ver esta película que seguramente les gustará.
Boss Level is a fun and simple film, I have read that it has a lot of influence of "Edge of Tomorrow" and it is true, there are many things very similar, but also to other films, but as I said before the influence of video games not only has a weight in the action scenes but also in the humorous ones; I was surprised that it was very entertaining because I saw it with very little expectation; it is not an original film and its production is very small, but it does not affect at all the development of the film, it has good action scenes, good and funny characters, actually I had a good time, it can be forced with respect to explain everything that happens to the main character, but I do not think it serves and when I finished it I kept thinking that if it was released in the mid 90's starring a famous actor for that time, surely it would have been a great success; for all the above described if you like action films then you can see this movie that you will surely like.
