A new chapter in the Netflix anthology series "The Haunting" shows us how a ghost story can change into a love story... "The Haunting of Bly Manor".
In 2018 Mike Flanagan surprised many with the creation of "The Haunting of Hill House ", a story of ghosts and terror that had as its main story the members of a broken family due to the traumas they lived through while living in a mansion occupied by spirits; Each of these episodes were excellent and while watching these episodes I thought they had the potential to be a horror film and even originate spin-offs where the supernatural was very important, to all this I can add the very good performances of its protagonists and it was evident that it would get the fame and recognition of many critics and the general public, especially its creator who ended up being chosen to direct and write the script of "Doctor Sleep ", sequel to the film "The Shining ".

Un nuevo capítulo en la serie de antología de Netflix "The Haunting" nos muestra de como una historia de fantasmas podrá cambiar a una de amor... "The Haunting of Bly Manor".
En el 2018 Mike Flanagan sorprendió a muchos con la creación de "The Haunting of Hill House", una historia de fantasmas y terror que tenía como historia principal a los integrantes de una familia rota a causa de los traumas que vivieron mientras vivieron en una mansión ocupada por espíritus; cada uno de estos episodios fueron excelentes y mientras veía estos episodios pensaba que tenían el potencial para ser un film de terror y hasta originar spin-off en donde los sobrenatural fuera muy importante, a todo esto puedo sumar las muy buenas actuaciones de sus protagonistas y era evidente que consiguiera la fama y reconocimiento de muchos críticos y del publico en general, en especial de su creador que termino siendo elegido para dirigir y escribir el guion de "Doctor Sleep", secuela del film "The Shining".
"The Haunting of Bly Manor" is one of the series that I've been waiting to see this year, I became a fan of its creator and I like how it adds elements such as drama to horror and I think that takes another level in originality to tell stories; I mainly wanted to see if this series could show something different from what had already been seen in "Hill House", I don't know if it was on a different path than the other people because it seemed that this was happening when I read the first reactions where the majority of the complaints were that it was nothing like the series that premiered in 2018, that seemed to me to be something very important because that was one of the expectations that I had, but the most important thing was to know what type of story was being told on this occasion and what impact it would leave on the people who would watch the nine episodes that make up the series.
"The Haunting of Bly Manor" es una de las series que he esperado de ver en este año, me volví fanático de su creador y me gusta mucho como suma elementos como lo es el drama al de terror y creo que eso hace que tome otro nivel en originalidad para contar historias; principalmente quería ver sí esta serie pudiera mostrar algo diferente a lo que ya se había visto en "Hill House", no sé si iba en un camino diferente a las demás personas porque pareciera que eso ocurría al leer las primeras reacciones en donde la mayoría de las quejas eran que no se parecía en nada a la serie estrenada en el 2018, eso me pareció algo muy importante porque esa era una de las expectativas que tenía, pero faltaba lo más importante y era saber qué tipo de historia se contaba en esta oportunidad y que impacto dejaría en las personas que verían los nueve episodios que la conforman.
In this new story we see again a mansion, ghosts that inhabit it and how they affect the living that accompany them, a story full of losses, guilt, regrets, but most of all love being the most important thing because it triggers the good and bad that happens in this story, each of the relationships that these characters have had in the past will affect the decisions they make in the present and future and that will make them be haunted by ghosts that they themselves have created or that they meet some who did not know they existed, This drama will be softened in several moments by the story of two children who will be very important in the development of what happens in the mansion, as you will see although it has what it takes to belong to this series of "Haunted Mansions", its history is different from the predecessor released two years ago, but that does not mean it is minor or a bad story, just that it takes a basis to create something new and is excellent.
En esta nueva historia volvemos a ver una mansión, fantasmas que la habitan y de cómo afectan a los vivos que los acompañan, una historia llena de perdidas, de culpas, arrepentimientos, pero más que nada de amor siendo lo más importante porque desencadena lo bueno y lo malo que sucede en esta historia, cada una de las relaciones que han tenido estos personajes en el pasado afectaran las decisiones que tomen en el presente y futuro y eso hará que sean perseguidos por fantasmas que ellos mismos han creado o que se encuentren con algunos que no sabían que existían, este drama se verá suavizado en varios momentos por la historia de dos niños que serán muy importantes en el desarrollo de lo que sucede en la mansión, como verán a pesar que tiene lo necesario para pertenecer a esta serie de "Mansiones Embrujadas", su historia es diferente a la predecesora estrenada hace dos años atrás, pero eso no quiere decir que sea menor o una mala historia, solo que toma una base para crear algo nuevo y es excelente.
At the first moment of seeing it, it seemed to me that it had a slow start, without any impact and I think it was because I compared the beginning of this story with what was done in the previous season; I consider the first episode to be a very weak beginning, but as you watch the other episodes and until the end I can say that it becomes one of the best because of the way the story develops and if there is something I could advise those who have not seen this series is that they should be a little patient with the first three episodes and then enjoy an excellent series, this does not mean that the first three episodes are bad but perhaps the presentation of each of its characters is very long, but it is something very well thought out by its creator and the other writers who worked on this season.
Al primer momento de verla me pareció que tuvo un comienzo lento, sin ningún impacto y creo que fue porque comparé el comienzo de esta historia con lo hecho en la anterior temporada; el primer episodio lo considere un comienzo muy flojo, pero mientras se va viendo los demás episodios y hasta el final puedo decir que se convierte en uno de los mejores por cómo va desarrollando la historia y si hay algo que pudiera aconsejar a los que no han visto esta serie es que deben ser un poco pacientes con los primeros tres episodios para después disfrutar un excelente serie, esto no quiere decir que sean malos los primeros tres episodios sino que la tal vez se alargue mucho la presentación de cada uno de sus personajes, pero es algo muy bien pensado por su creador y los demás guionistas que trabajaron en esta temporada.
Long before the recording of this season began, there was a rumor that the same actors who worked in the previous season could return for this one, since in the end this is an anthology series, this would make me see these actors playing new characters again, this was very good, but I must say that I am happy to see new actors who played unforgettable characters, I think that at times in some scenes they reminded me of Disney animated stories because of how several of them are written, if there were some scenes with music and dancing believe me I would not be surprised, but this was not the case and in the end we had a story very attached to reality where we see characters dealing with love, joy, loss and sadness, all this in a place that seems to be a trap where it will be very difficult to leave behind.
Mucho antes de comenzar a grabarse esta temporada existía el rumor de que los mismo actores que trabajaron en la anterior temporada pudieran regresar para esta ya que al final esta es una serie de antología, esto haría que volviera a ver a estos actores interpretar a nuevos personajes, esto me gustó mucho, pero debo decir que me alegra el ver a nuevos actores que interpretaron a personajes inolvidables, creo que por momentos en algunas escenas me recordaban a historias animadas de Disney por cómo están escritos varios de ellos, si hubiera algunas escenas con música y bailes créanme que no me fuera sorprendido, pero esto no fue así y al final tuvimos una historia muy apegada a la realidad donde vemos a personajes lidiar con el amor, la alegría, la perdida y la tristeza, todo esto en un lugar que pareciera que fuera un trampa en donde será muy difícil de dejar atrás.
If I have to compare this season with the previous one, I can say that both are different, very good, but I think this story is very well written and narrated, it is special and I think that by telling a love story with the horror of living real and supernatural fears, it makes it a little different from what has been seen, it is an extension of the last two works made by Mike Flanagan, it is impressive the way it evolves and traps the viewer in an impressive story with so few characters and at the same time all are protagonists because they are all very important. The first season I thought that each of the members of the "Crain" family could be part of their own horror and suspense series and even though this changes this season that doesn't minimize the way it is done because it is not repeated and that is always a good thing; my favorite episodes at first glance are The Altar of the Dead" (Ep 5), "The Romance of Certain Old Clothes" (Ep 8) and "The Beast in the Jungle" (Ep 9), but at the end and thinking about all the revelations I got to see the first episode "The Great Good Place" and understand a lot of things and even feel sad about how everything happens in this series, That's why I think the writing and narrative is better than last season and I even say that for the moments so few weeks before the end of the year, I think this story is one of the best I've seen this year.
Si debo comparar esta temporada con la anterior, puedo decir que ambas son diferentes, muy buenas, pero creo que esta historia está muy bien escrita y narrada, es especial y creo que al contar una historia de amor con el horror de vivir miedos reales y sobrenaturales, hace que sea algo diferente de lo que se ha visto, es una extensión de los dos últimos trabajos realizados por Mike Flanagan, es impresionante la forma de cómo va evolucionando y atrapando al espectador en una historia impresionante con tan pocos personajes y que a la vez todos son protagonistas porque todos son muy importantes. La primera temporada pensaba que cada uno de los integrantes de la familia "Crain" pudiera ser parte de su propia serie de terror y suspenso y a pesar de que esto cambia en esta temporada eso no minimiza la forma de cómo está hecha porque no se repite y ese es siempre algo bueno; mis episodios favoritos a primera vista, son: "The Altar of the Dead" (Ep 5), "The Romance of Certain Old Clothes" (Ep 8) y "The Beast in the Jungle" (Ep 9), pero al finalizar y pensar en todas las revelaciones me dio por ver el primer episodio "The Great Good Place" y entender muchas cosas y sentir hasta tristeza por como sucede todo en esta serie, es por eso que creo que la escritura y narrativa es mejor que la temporada pasada y hasta digo que por los momentos a tan pocas semanas de terminar el año, pienso que esta historia es de lo mejor que he visto en este año.
