Existen proyectos hollywoodenses que tiene cierto nivel de dificultad para conseguir el éxito y esos son los basados en videojuegos; puedo hacer una larga lista de diferentes films y series de TV que han fracasado sin importar el género que representa cada una de estas producciones; en mi opinión filmes cómo "Mortal Kombat" (1995) y "Resident Evil" (2002) son las películas basadas en videojuegos que me han gustado y refiriéndome a películas actuales puedo decir que "Sonic" tanto su primer film como el segundo, se convirtieron en un inesperado éxito y que su aceptación haga que el film "Super Mario Bros." que se estrena en este año también sea un éxito; ahora refiriéndome a producciones televisivas basadas en videojuegos, puedo nombrar a la excelente serie animada "Arcane: League of Legends" de Netflix, en mi opinión es de lo mejor que he visto y sé que existen otras que comparten el formato de ser animadas y lo cual pienso que (si se hace bien) es el factor fundamental para alcanzar el éxito; la dificultad aumenta cuando estás producciones son en versiones de Acción-Real porque está siempre bajo vigilancia de los muchos fans de estos juegos los cuales son sumamente exigentes con la representación de la historia y los personajes que ellos aman.

There are Hollywood projects that have a certain level of difficulty to achieve success and those are the ones based on video games; I can make a long list of different films and TV series that have failed regardless of the genre that each of these productions represent; in my opinion films like "Mortal Kombat" (1995) and "Resident Evil" (2002) are the movies based on video games that I have liked and referring to current movies I can say that "Sonic" both his first film and the second, became an unexpected success and that its acceptance makes the film "Super Mario Bros. "Now referring to television productions based on video games, I can name the excellent animated series "Arcane: League of Legends" from Netflix, in my opinion it is one of the best I have seen and I know there are others that share the format of being animated and which I think (if done well) is the fundamental factor to achieve success; the difficulty increases when these productions are in Action-Real versions because it is always under surveillance of the many fans of these games which are extremely demanding with the representation of the story and the characters they love.
El día de ayer la cadena televisiva y ahora de streaming, HBO junto a HBOMax estrenaron el primer episodio de una de las producciones que más esperaba de ver en este año, hablo de la serie "The Last of Us" la cual está basada en un juego de video que se estrenó en el 2013 y que relata la historia de "Joel" el cual es un solitario y sobreviviente hombre al que acepta la misión de trasladar a una adolescente llamada "Elli" por territorio norteamericano post-apocalíptico después que la aparición de una enfermedad causada por un hongo que transforma a los humanos en criaturas violentas y hambrientas; estás criaturas junto a otros enemigos será lo que deban enfrentar ambos personajes para alcanzar una misión que podrá cambiar al mundo. La sinopsis del juego es la misma de la serie y pienso que es perfecta para una historia como sucede en la mayoría de este tipo de historias, la humanidad no solo verá a esta enfermedad y a las criaturas como su gran enemigo, ya que otros humanos serán el verdadero obstáculo a superar y eso es lo seguramente hace mucho más interesante a esta historia.
Yesterday the television network and now streaming network, HBO together with HBOMax released the first episode of one of the productions that I was most looking forward to see this year, I'm talking about the series "The Last of Us " which is based on a video game that was released in 2013 and tells the story of "Joel" which is a lonely and surviving man who accepts the mission to move a teenager named "Elli" by post-apocalyptic North American territory after the appearance of a disease caused by a fungus that transforms humans into violent and hungry creatures; these creatures along with other enemies will be what both characters must face to achieve a mission that could change the world. The synopsis of the game is the same of the series and I think it is perfect for a story as it happens in most of this type of stories, humanity will not only see this disease and the creatures as their great enemy, since other humans will be the real obstacle to overcome and that is what surely makes this story much more interesting.
Personalmente, no soy una persona que se desvive por los videojuegos y con esto quiero dejar claro que nunca he jugado "The Last of Us", pero eso tampoco evita de que tenga conocimiento de la historia y sus personajes, ya que es difícil de obviar a los muchos fans que existen de este juego y que con el anuncio del estreno de esta serie han invadido aún más a las redes sociales; ahora lo que si me gusta ver son historias post-apocalípticas y por supuesto de zombis aunque en esta historia no se consideraran exactamente de esa manera, aunque sus características son iguales y es por eso que decido ver esta historia la cual seguramente me proveerá de un gran drama, con suspenso, acción, aventuras y dependiendo de que tanta conexión tenga con sus protagonistas, pueda sentir tristeza.
Esta serie está dirigida (en algunos episodios) y escrita por dos personas; primero nombraré a Craig Mazin quien fue el creador de la exitosa miniserie de HBO, "Chernobyl"; a esto también sumo de que fue el guionista de muchas parodias cinematográficas y de los dos últimos films de "The Hangover"; la otra persona encargada de co-escribir el guion y dirigir (tengo entendido el segundo episodio) es justamente el creador del videojuego en sí, Neil Druckmann, esto en mi opinión (y a pesar de nunca haber jugado este videojuego) es muy importante porque se mantiene muy fiel al material original y a ser una producción basada en un juego muy famoso, creo que es lo que los primeros fans de esta historia esperaban de ver; en mi opinión es un gran acierto de que HBO cuente con personas talentosas que han tenido existo en diferentes plataformas y nuevamente quieran repetir con esta serie.
Personally, I am not a person who loves video games and with this I want to make it clear that I have never played "The Last of Us", but that does not prevent me from having knowledge of the story and its characters, since it is difficult to ignore the many fans that exist of this game and that with the announcement of the premiere of this series have invaded even more social networks; now what I do like to see are post-apocalyptic stories and of course zombies although in this story they will not be considered exactly that way, although their characteristics are the same and that is why I decide to see this story which will surely provide me with a great drama, with suspense, action, adventure and depending on how much connection I have with its protagonists, I may feel sadness.
This series is directed (in some episodes) and written by two people; first I will name Craig Mazin who was the creator of the successful HBO miniseries, "Chernobyl"; to this I also add that he was the screenwriter of many movie parodies and of the last two films of "The Hangover"; the other person in charge of co-writing the script and directing (I understand the second episode) is just the creator of the videogame itself, Neil Druckmann, this in my opinion (and despite never having played this videogame) is very important because it stays very faithful to the original material and being a production based on a very famous game, I think this is what the first fans of this story expected to see; in my opinion it is a great success that HBO has talented people who have had success in different platforms and again want to repeat with this series.
La actuación de Pedro Pascal es impresionante, su personaje, "Joel", pasa de ser un padre protector a ser alguien que cada vez más pierde sentido a la humanidad; en este primer episodio tiene la motivación para salir cada día de su hogar para hacer lo mejor para que quien más ama pueda tener un mejor futuro, pero la vida no es perfecta y al aparecer una grave amenaza que sumerge al mundo en el apocalipsis, es entonces con todo lo perdido es que podemos observar a un hombre que reprime el dolor, pero que está dispuesto a todo para no perder más; quiero dejar claro que lo que he escrito sobre este personaje es lo que transmite Pascal con su actuación la cual es tan desgarradora y triste que es imposible no decir que él hace que el episodio sea tan excelente y llamativo y eso lo digo desde el punto de vista de alguien (lamento repetir) que no ha jugado nunca "The Last of Us". Me gustaría profundizar más sobre la actuación de Bella Ramsey como "Ellie", pero estoy seguro de que el desarrollo de su personaje será mejor de lo que se vio brevemente en este episodio, lo cual fue bueno, ya que me deja la noción de ser una chica valiente e inteligente y espero ver qué otra característica descubra en los demás episodios.
The performance of Pedro Pascal is impressive, his character, "Joel", goes from being a protective father to someone who increasingly loses sense of humanity; in this first episode he has the motivation to leave his home every day to do his best so that the one he loves most can have a better future, but life is not perfect and as a serious threat appears that plunges the world into the apocalypse, it is then with everything lost is that we can observe a man who represses the pain, but is willing to do anything not to lose more; I want to make it clear that what I have written about this character is what Pascal conveys with his performance which is so heartbreaking and sad that it is impossible not to say that he makes the episode so excellent and striking and I say that from the point of view of someone (sorry to repeat) who has never played "The Last of Us". I'd like to go more in depth about Bella Ramsey's performance as "Ellie", but I'm sure her character development will be better than what was briefly seen in this episode, which was good, as it leaves me with the notion of her being a brave and intelligent girl and I look forward to seeing what other characteristic she discovers in the other episodes.
Este primer espisodio llamado "When You're Lost in the Darkness" es un gran episodio piloto, uno de los mejores que he visto porque te demuestra y te explica cosas que pueden hacer que una historia de este tipo se pierda en momentos al desarrollar el origen, la causa de la enfermedad; lo otro que me pareció genial fue la historia detrás de uno de sus protagonistas y que nos demuestra de lo que será en el futuro, nos da una noción a quien no conoce esta historia y hasta puedo decir que no solo sobre ese personaje sino al mundo que deben enfrentar. Este episodio dirigido por Mazin tiene una cinematografía excelente, en momentos en dónde de la calma se pasa al caos es algo muy bien hecho porque siempre tenemos esa perspectiva del jugador, la famosa perspectiva de tercera persona y eso lo valoro porque imagino que hace al gran fan del juego sentirse a gusto volviendo a experimentar está historia. Cómo pueden leer en esta reseña y opinión sobre este primer episodio, no hay duda de que he disfrutado de esta historia y tengo muchas expectativas de lo que vendrá en los demás episodios; sé que habrá muchos que puedan ver similitudes con "The Walking Dead", "A Quite Place" y alguna otra serie o film dónde vemos a personajes tratar de sobrevivir a un mundo en donde un apocalipsis causado por una enfermedad que erradica todo sentimiento de humanidad y que por eso se hace más difícil de superar, creo que eso es justamente lo que trata está historia y sin importar que tan repetitiva sea, pienso que puede ser muy entretenida y hasta mejor de muchas otras; eso espero. Les recuerdo que cada domingo por HBO o HBOMAX podrán disfrutar de esta serie.
This first episode called "When You're Lost in the Darkness" is a great pilot episode, one of the best I've seen because it shows and explains things that can make a story of this type get lost at times when developing the origin, the cause of the disease; the other thing that I thought was great was the story behind one of the main characters and that shows us what it will be in the future, it gives us a notion to those who do not know this story and I can even say that not only about that character but the world they must face. This episode directed by Mazin has an excellent cinematography, in moments where the calm goes to chaos is something very well done because we always have that perspective of the player, the famous third person perspective and I value that because I imagine it makes the big fan of the game feel comfortable to experience this story again. As you can read in this review and opinion about this first episode, there is no doubt that I have enjoyed this story and I have many expectations of what will come in the other episodes; I know there will be many who can see similarities with "The Walking Dead", "A Quite Place" and some other series or film where we see characters trying to survive a world where an apocalypse caused by a disease that eradicates all sense of humanity and therefore becomes more difficult to overcome, I think that's exactly what this story is about and no matter how repetitive it is, I think it can be very entertaining and even better than many others; I hope so. I remind you that every Sunday on HBO or HBOMAX you will be able to enjoy this series.
