Finally the last film of the "X-MEN" franchise was released, where we will see a group of teenagers facing their worst fears and being called... "The New Mutants".
Since March 2019, with the transfer of the film rights of the former 20th Century Fox to Disney/Marvel, it was known that the franchise based on the Mutants of Marvel Comics was finished. In total, thirteen films were released in this series of stories where we saw a group of people with powers seeking to fit in and protect a society that classified them as a mistake of nature instead of an evolution, But not only that, since these films, especially the one released in 2000, X-Men, helped to relaunch the whole trend of films about comic book heroes in the world of movies and this is what gave us this franchise, high moments with unforgettable characters and it seems that irreplaceable and others that will not be very well remembered.

Por fin fue estrenado el último film de la franquicia de "X-MEN", en donde veremos a un grupo de jóvenes enfrentar sus peores miedos y ser llamados..."The New Mutants".
Desde marzo del 2019 con el traspaso de los derechos cinematográficos de la antigua 20th Century Fox a Disney/Marvel, se sabía de qué la franquicia basada en los Mutantes de Marvel Comics estaba terminada, en total fueron trece films estrenados de esta serie de historias en donde veíamos a un grupo de personas dotadas con poderes buscar encajar y proteger a una sociedad que los clasificaba como una equivocación de la naturaleza en vez de una evolución, pero no solo eso ya que estas películas en especial al estrenada en el año 2000 , X-Men, sirvió para relanzar toda la moda de películas sobre héroes de comics en el mundo del cine y es que esto fue lo que nos dio esta franquicia, momentos altos con personajes inolvidables y parece que irremplazables y otros que no serán muy bien recordados.
"The New Mutants" tells the story of a group of five young mutants who must discover and learn their powers in order not to be a threat to themselves and to society; This group is formed by Rahne Sinclair, Illyana Rasputin, Samuel "Sam" Guthrie, Roberto "Bobby" da Costa and the new member Danielle "Dani" Moonstar, all of them will be evaluated, studied and helped by Dr. Cecilia Reyes; this group of five will have to leave behind their differences and unite to face their worst fears and an unknown enemy that will always be stalking them.
"The New Mutants" nos cuenta la historia de un grupo de cinco jóvenes mutantes que deberán descubrir y aprender cuáles son sus poderes para no ser una amenaza para ellos mismos ni para la sociedad; este grupo está formado por Rahne Sinclair, Illyana Rasputin, Samuel "Sam" Guthrie, Roberto "Bobby" da Costa y la nueva integrante Danielle "Dani" Moonstar, todos ellos serán evaluados, estudiados y ayudados por la Dra. Cecilia Reyes; este grupo de cinco deberá dejar atrás sus diferencias y unirse para enfrentar sus peores miedos y a un desconocido enemigo que siempre los estará asechando.
This is a very regular film, it's a waste that the potential of its story is not taken advantage of because the idea of the director Josh Boone who co-wrote the script together with Knate Lee, is very good, it has what it takes to be a good film of origins kept as a base what has been done for 18 years in the various films of this franchise, I think it was an excellent moment to show a new way of making films based on comics since all of them are made of science fiction, comedy, action and even drama, but terror was not something very explored in the many films that exist in this successful genre, but unfortunately this time could not do an excellent job and that means that the complete work of Boone was not the best by failing to create scenes that were sufficiently scary to define this story as a horror one.
Este es un film muy regular, es un lástima que no se aproveche el potencial de su historia porque la idea del director Josh Boone quien co-escribío el guion junto a Knate Lee, es muy buena, tiene lo necesario para ser un buen film de orígenes mantenido como base lo hecho desde hace 18 años en las varias películas de esta franquicia, creo que era un excelente momento para mostrar una nueva forma de hacer películas basadas en comics ya que todas están hechas de ciencia-ficción, comedia, acción y hasta drama, pero el terror no era algo muy explorado en los muchos films que existen de este exitoso género, pero lamentablemente esta vez no se pudo hacer un excelente trabajo y eso significa que el trabajo completo de Boone no fue el mejor al fallar en crear escenas que fueran lo suficiente terroríficas para que esta historia sea definida como una de terror.
If there is something good in this film it is the casting of most of the actors and the choice of the mutants they play, the characters I liked the most were "Rahne Sinclair" played by Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy as "Illyana Rasputin"; being two recognized actresses they have a great protagonism in this story, I liked both characters because it's the first time I see them in action, if I had a knowledge of who "Illyanna" is, but I didn't know anything about "Rahne", I liked that she had that strength in the belief of a God even though she has been attacked by very representative people of the church, but that doesn't avoid that she always looks for help in her beliefs and at times she made me remember "Nightcrawler"; With respect to the character that is known by the name of Magik, I think Anya is an excellent actress and here she shows a good job in spite of how regular the film is and even though I liked her performance I did not like much the way this character was developed in her action scenes; The other actors and characters had a good performance to fulfill in this story, they were not bad but they focus more on the origin of their powers and how they can use it instead of the previous ones, they are more experienced characters.
Si existe algo bueno en este film es el casting de la mayoría de los actores y la elección de los mutantes a quien ellos interpretan, los personajes que más me gustaron fueron "Rahne Sinclair " interpretada por Maisie Williams y Anya Taylor-Joy como "Illyana Rasputin"; al ser dos actrices reconocidas tienen un gran protagonismo en esta historia, me gustó ambos personajes porque es primera vez que los veo en acción, si tenía un conocimiento de quien es "Illyanna", pero no sabía nada de "Rahne", me gusto que tuviera esa fuerza en la creencia de un Dios a pesar de que ha sido atacada por personas muy representativas de la iglesia, pero eso no evita que siempre busque ayuda en sus creencias y por momentos me hizo recordar a "Nightcrawler"; con respecto al personaje que es conocido por el nombre de "Magik" es una a la cual le tenía muchas ganas de ver, creo que Anya es una excelente actriz y aquí vuelve a mostrar un buen trabajo a pesar de lo regular que es el film y a pesar de que me gustó su interpretación no me gustó mucho el cómo fue desarrollado este personaje en sus escenas de acción; los demás actores y personajes tuvieron un buen desempeño para cumplir en esta historia, no fueron malos pero en ellos se enfocan más la parte de origen de sus poderes y de cómo pueden usarlo en cambio de las anteriores citadas son personajes más experimentados.
I regret that this film did not have a better development, perhaps with another director could have been done something better where if they showed more terror and action scenes, I even think that this story would have worked if it had been made as an animated film, it is simple and very smooth, this is a pity because it could have done something new that would work even though it certainly would not have sequels, but that would make the new home for this franchise had to strive to show new things in this story based on people with their differences seeking to be accepted. This last film made under the distribution and production of 20th Century Fox, reflects how they handled not only the rights of the X-Men but of the Fantastic 4, making films for the sake of making them, all to keep a contract which in the end they could never afford to pay for, generating more losses than profits, boring a large number of fans who regret seeing good stories and character development too late and now know that those versions will never return, we just have to wait for the moment when the mutants will appear in the MCU, but if you want to give a farewell to the previous franchise I invite you to see this film that will not be the best, but neither is the worst.
Lamento que este film no tuviera un mejor desarrollo, tal vez con otro director se pudo haber hecho algo mejor en donde si mostraran más terror y escenas de acción, hasta creo que esta historia fuera funcionado si se hubiera realizado como un film animado, es simple y muy suave, esto es una lástima porque se pudo hacer algo nuevo que fuera funcionado a pesar que con seguridad no tendría secuelas, pero eso haría que la nueva casa para esta franquicia tuviera que esforzarse para mostrar cosas nuevas en esta historia basada en personas con sus diferencias buscando ser aceptados. Este último film realizado bajo la distribución y producción de 20th Century Fox, refleja el cómo manejaron no solo los derechos de los X-Men sino de los 4 Fantásticos, hacer films por hacerlos, todo para mantener un contrato el cual al final nunca pudieron costear generando más perdidas que ganancias, aburriendo a un gran número de seguidores que lamentan ver buenas historias y desarrollo de personajes de forma muy tardía y que ahora saben que esas versiones más nunca volverán, solo nos queda esperar a en que momento aparecerán los mutantes en el MCU, pero si quieren darle una despedida a la anterior franquicia los invito a ver este film que no será el mejor, pero tampoco es el peor.
