Mommy Loves You: Run (Review)

Hello, lovers of the seventh art. This time, I bring you a movie that I had time on my to-watch list but had not been able to see due to lack of time, but I'm on vacation and yesterday my husband took a day off work and we watched this little pearl: Run, just from last year (I hadn't realized that until I looked it up yesterday), by director Aneesh Chaganty and starring the wonderful Sarah Paulson and Kiera Allen's debut, where they exude pure genius.

Este vez, le traigo una película que tenía tiempo en mi lista de pendientes pero que no había podido ver por falta de tiempo, pero estoy de vacaciones y ayer mi esposo se tomó un día libre en el trabajo y nos vimos esta perlita: Run, apenas del año pasado (no me había percatado de eso hasta que la busqué ayer), del director Aneesh Chaganty y protagonizado por la maravillosa Sarah Paulson y el debut de Kiera Allen, en donde destilan pura genialidad.

I've always been drawn to psychological thrillers or anything to do with the subject, and I've seen several, but until yesterday, this is by far one of the best psychological thrillers I've seen. It had me on the verge of despair and every moment I found myself gasping for breath.

Siempre me han llamado la atención los thrillers psicológicos o que tengan que ver con el tema, y vaya que me he visto varios pero hasta ayer, este es por mucho, una de las mejores muestras ligada con la psicología. Me tenía al borde del desespero y a cada momento me encontraba respirando con dificultad.

We find ourselves with a devoted and devoted mother (Diane) somewhat peculiar, she has cared for and homeschooled her sick daughter since birth and now it's time to go to college, but Chloe (the daughter), starts to get the feeling that something isn't right and when she discovers the truth, her whole world is turned upside down. But that's not all, from the first moment she finds out one of the many lies, there comes a rain of more secrets discovered that you do not know whether to scream or want to run away like Chloe, it is very desperate and they knew how to take advantage of that; although I must confess that the beginning was a little terse and rushed to give entry to the plot of truth, but it is almost imperceptible.

Nos encontramos con una madre abnegada y devota (Diane) un tanto peculiar, ha cuidado y educado en casa a su hija enferma desde que nació y ahora es hora de ir a la universidad, pero Chloe (la hija), empieza a tener la sensación de que algo no va bien y cuando descubre la verdad, todo su mundo da un vuelco. Pero no es solo eso, desde el primer instante en que se entera de una de las tantas mentiras, se viene un lluvia de más secretos descubiertos que no sabes si gritar o querer salir corriendo como Chloe, es muy desesperante y eso lo supieron aprovechar; aunque debo confesar que el comienzo me resultó un poco escueto y apresurado para dar entrada a la trama de verdad, pero es casi imperceptible.

The director knew how to play with the narrative and his characters to perfection, he took great care of every detail (apart from the little one I mentioned above) and managed to reach the senses of the viewers, or at least us; literally, there were moments when I even started to sweat, it has a lot of tension. Y a pesar de que el reparto es pequeño, cada uno cumple su papel muy bien. So it could easily become a film to watch on a cold night with a couple of burgers and a lot of soda to help pass some moments of shortness of breath, so as I'm used to tell you: "If you haven't seen it, see it, and if you have, see it again, you can't miss it". El director supo jugar con la narrativa y sus personajes a la perfección, cuidó mucho de cada detalle (apartando el pequeñito que les comenté arriba) y logró llegar a los sentidos de los espectadores, o por lo menos a nosotros; literal, habían momentos en que hasta empezaba a sudar, tiene mucha tensión. Y a pesar de que el reparto es pequeño, cada uno cumple su papel muy bien. Así que fácil podría convertirse en una cinta para ver una noche de frio con un par de hamburguesas y mucho refresco que ayude a pasar algunos momentos en donde falta el aire, así que como acostumbro a decirles: ”Si no la han visto, véanla y, si ya la vieron, vuélvanla a ver que no tiene pérdida de nada.
