Hey Hivers, I finally have internet again! I already had more than 20 days without service and I swear I was about to freak out. I wanted to upload a post just on the day I turned one year Hive and, by the way, I became a little fish! But, well, not to fall into dementia, we had been passed a crime series and since I don't like them almost (note the sarcasm), we jumped in to watch it. The Blacklist, became my second favorite series in record time (the first is Lucifer), it grabs you from the first moment and each chapter has an unexpected twist that makes the deductive skills that you think you have are good, turn into a circus, it's brutal. Since we didn't have internet, we thought it was only 2 seasons because that's how many we got, but I just found out that there are 9 seasons and that it's still on air (it started airing in 2013).

Hola, Hivers. ¡Por fin tengo internet de nuevo! Ya tenía más de 20 días sin el servicio y juro que estaba a punto de enloquecer. Quería subir un post justo el día que cumplí un año Hive y, de paso, ¡me convertí en pececito! Pero, bueno, para no caer en la demencia, nos habían pasado una serie de crimen y como no me gustan casi (nótese el sarcasmo), nos lanzamos a verla. The Blacklist, se convirtió en mi segunda serie favorita en tiempo récord (la primera es Lucifer), te atrapa desde el primer instante y cada capítulo tiene un giro inesperado que hace que las habilidades deductivas que crees tener son buenas, se vuelvan un circo, es brutal. Como no teníamos internet, creíamos que eran solo 2 temporadas porque fueron las que nos pasaron, pero recién que busco, me entero que son 9 temporadas y que aún está en emisión (se empezó a transmitir en el 2013).

The Main Character, Reddington (Red)

Has so much strength and a unique character that he managed to win my affection, respect and admiration (and I won't lie, I even find the old man sexy). He's supposed to be the FBI's most wanted but Red manages to get the tables turned and it's the FBI working for him! As they "catch the real bad guys", you notice that Red gives very specific names that played an important role in his criminal career. While his personality is intriguing, he gets to be very classy and, to some extent, "righteous"; leading you to wonder if he really is the bad guy.

El Personaje Principal, Reddington (Red)

Tiene tanta fuerza y un carácter único que logró ganarse mi cariño, respeto y admiración (y no mentiré, el viejo hasta me parece sexy). Se supone que es el más buscado por el FBI pero Red logra que los papeles se giren y ¡es el FBI quien trabaja para él! Mientras “atrapan a los verdaderos malos”, se nota que Red da nombres muy específicos que tuvieron un papel importante en su carrera criminal. Aunque su personalidad es intrigante, llega a ser muy elegante y, hasta cierto punto, “justo”; lo que te lleva a pensar si de verdad él es el malo.

Who is Daddy's Girl?: Elisabeth Keen (Lisy)

A profiler turned special agent who works hand in hand with Red because he demanded it. While working with him, she gains a better understanding of criminal minds, procedures, etc., even the team comes to think that she works for Red initially. What you don't know (and I still don't fully know) is that the two of them have a history; at the beginning it seemed very clear what Red was up to with Lisy but as each chapter progresses, that idea you had is destroyed with another event to, later on, put it back on a silver platter.

¿Quién es la Niña de Papi?: Elisabeth Keen (Lisy)

Luego tenemos a la coprotagonista, Elisabeth Keen (Lisy), una perfilista que se convirtió en agente especial que trabaja de la mano con Red porque él así lo exigió. Mientras trabaja con él, logra comprender mejor las mentes criminales, procedimientos, etc., hasta el equipo llega a pensar que ella trabaja para Red inicialmente. Lo que no se sabe (y aun no lo sé del todo) es que ellos dos tienen una historia; al principio parecía muy claro qué es lo que se traía en manos Red con Lisy pero al avanzar cada capítulo, esa idea que tenías es destruida con otro acontecimiento para, más adelante, volvértela a poner en bandeja de plata.

It's one crazy thing after another, because when you think you know what's going to happen, it's not, it's something you wouldn't even imagine. And Red himself warns the FBI task force: they were taught to think linear, this is totally different, they have to think as if they were the criminal. It's as if he's telling us too and when we do it... we fail, we're the worst pickpocket thieves, as Red would say. It's full of details all over the place, if you miss one, later on it comes out and you're still lost because they speak in clues that have to do just with that detail you missed. It has a lot of suspense and the hidden drama is not left out, everyone has a story that also leaves us shocked. The only thing I could put negative points on would be two stupid mistakes: the feds' vehicles are supposed to be armored, right? Well, here they are made of plastic. And the other mistake, in chases they never aim at the enemy's wheels, but the enemy does aim at theirs... it's wonderful that frustration.

Es una locura tras otra, porque cuando crees saber lo que sucederá, no es así, es algo que ni te imaginarías. Y el mismo Red se los advierte al equipo de tareas del FBI: les enseñaron a pensar lineal, esto es totalmente distinto, deben pensar como si fueran el criminal. Es como si también nos lo dijera a nosotros y cuando lo hacemos… fracasamos, somos los peores maleantes que roban carteras, como diría Red. Está llena de detalles por todos lados, si te pierdes de uno, más adelante sale y sigues perdido porque hablan en claves que tienen que ver justo con ese detalle que dejaste pasar. Tiene mucho suspenso y el drama oculto no se deja de lado, cada quien tiene una historia que también nos deja impactados. Lo único que podría ponerle puntos negativos sería a dos errores estúpidos: los vehículos de los federales se suponen que son blindados, ¿no? Bueno, aquí son de plástico. Y el otro error, en persecuciones nunca apuntan a las ruedas del enemigo, pero el enemigo si les apunta a las de ellos… es maravillosa esa frustración.

I know I still have more than half of the series to go before I can speak more properly, but it's so brutally good that I couldn't wait to write about it right now. I'm sure I won't be disappointed, so as I always say: "if you haven't seen it, see it and if you have already seen it (no spoilers, please), see it again, you won't lose anything".

Sé que aún me falta más de la mitad de la serie para poder hablar con más propiedad, pero es tan brutalmente buena que no me pude esperar a escribir de ella en este momento. Tengo la certeza de que no me decepcionará, así que como siempre les digo: “si no la han visto, véanla y si ya la vieron (no me hagan spoiler, please), vuélvanla a ver, no tiene perdida de nada”.
