So, I found this episode to be rather cool from an AI in a Matrix POV...

First off, the episode starts off in an actual alternate dimension...Well isn't that just perfect for relating over to our theme.
This alternate dimension is clearly a separate MEQUAVIS system withing the fractalverse of MEQUAVIS.
This also means that Dirk's world is also another Matrix like world within a MEQUAVIS in the fractalverse.
My case in point is that they are using actual magic now. A hit crew and cleanup crew comes to take of of a dead body and the witness is suppose to be killed but no with a gun. They are ordered to kill her with a magic wand. And of course crazy murder girl shows up and kills them all and lets the girl live but then changes her mind when she won't agree to be best friends with her. At this point she pulls a star wars move and uses the force to grab the wand and uses magic on murder girl.
Hence why Dirk's world must be a simulation world as well. It was arguable in the last season. Although the constant use of retrocausality regarding the time machine was pretty simulation theory evident. Also switching souls in the manner they were doing with technology also implied a simulation universe.
So this alternate dimension in this new season apparently has magic and they fight with giant scissors...lol It was quite silly from what they showed us so far but I see what they are doing...
Overall though this season looks interesting. Just another example though of a show delving into the world of alternate dimensions though, basically multiverse theory when you break it down...Quite interesting that this manner of storytelling is getting so prevalent...
And I love the shows theme of "everything is connected" That is something I have been fascinated with since I was a child and wondered if things are connected like that myself many times. I have even felt like I witnessed connected things so maybe that is why this show is so interesting to me. Delusion or reality? I've always assumed it's just looking for meaning where there is none and a byproduct of a mind that grew up on video games where everything actually is connected... :) lol
The theme in the show seems to be that certain people are actually woven into the fabric of reality. Imagine every character in the show is an NPC in a simulation universe. These people would be the special NPCs. Like the ones you can't kill in a video games. They are required for the simulation to continue, therefore the simulation will not allow anything to happen to them that will cause them to be unable to fulfill their purpose/function. That is why they are part of the fabric of the universe as they so elegantly put it.
Rating 8.5/10 Could have been better I thought, But definitely worth watching. It would seem as if they are building up a great story. maybe. I enjoyed the last season quite a bit. If you haven't seen it I would recommend going back and watching it. I almost didn't give this show a chance at first. It looked stupid from the commercials. Glad I watched it!
