The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the Benny Loves You poster was the image of Elmo and I remembered Sesame Street. But, I immediately reacted when I saw that bloody knife and remembered Chucky the devil doll, the Puppet Master saga by Full Moon Productions and even an old movie called Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black, in which in one of its three stories a voodoo doll chases her with a huge spear.
La historia nos narra las aventuras de un peluche (no sé si es un conejo o un oso), que tras ser desechado por su dueño, (un fracasado diseñador de juguetes), treintañero cobra vida de una manera sobrenatural y quiere hacerle entender que todavía lo quiere. Para ello, acabará con todo lo que se interponga entre su dueño y él, no dudará en apuñalar, secuestrar y decapitar a muñecos, animales o seres humanos con tal de hacer feliz.
The story tells the adventures of a stuffed animal (I do not know if it is a rabbit or a bear), which after being discarded by its owner (a failed toy designer), a thirty-something comes to life in a supernatural way and wants to make him understand that he still loves him. To do this, he will kill everything that comes between him and his owner, he will not hesitate to stab, kidnap and decapitate dolls, animals or humans in order to make him happy.
Es una película de humor negro, muy sencilla enmarcada dentro de la categoría serie “B”, disparatada, descabellada, tonta, de bajo presupuesto y con malas actuaciones a excepción del protagonista el peluche Benny el que solo articula cinco frases: Ta Daaa!, Okey Dookie!, Abraza a Benny!, Benny Loves You! Y Wiii!. Cuando camina su efecto es muy alocado, creando una especie de tensión cómica a la espera de ver la próxima barbaridad del muñeco.
It is a film of black humor, very simple, framed within the category "B" series, crazy, crazy, silly, low budget and with bad performances except for the protagonist Benny the plush who only articulates five phrases: Ta Daaa!, Okey Dookie, Hug Benny, Benny Loves You! and Wiii! When he walks his effect is very crazy, creating a kind of comic tension as we wait to see the next outrageousness of the doll.
La actuación sin excepción de todos los personajes de carne y hueso es lamentable. No obstante, es de destacar el esfuerzo de Karl Holt que escribe, dirige y protagoniza la película y si observamos los créditos finales su nombre aparece en casi todos los apartados. Lo peor de la película son los dos policías despistados, en lo particular no me hicieron gracia alguna
The acting without exception of all the flesh-and-blood characters is pitiful. However, it is worth noting the effort of Karl Holt who writes, directs and stars in the film and if we look at the end credits his name appears in almost every section. The worst part of the film are the two clueless cops, in particular I did not find them funny at all.
Dentro de toda esta masacre se nota el cariño que Benny le tiene a su dueño, e inclusive lo ayuda a diseñar una nueva línea de juguetes de peluche para salvar su trabajo. Hasta le cocina!.
In the midst of all this carnage, you can see the affection Benny has for his owner, and he even helps him design a new line of stuffed toys to save his job. He even cooks for him!.

Mención aparte merece la escena de la pelea entre el robot con motosierra y Benny muy divertida. Y según el final, algo oscuro está sucediendo con los juguetes abandonados.

Recomendada para ver sin muchas pretensiones, a los amantes del Cine “B”, y de terror es para pasar el rato y sonreir, no hay que buscarle sentido o filosofar mucho.
Recommended to see without many pretensions, to lovers of "B" Cinema, and horror is to hang out and smile, no need to look for meaning or philosophize much.
