Hello friends, this week a few days before Halloween I present to you one of the best films of the horror genre such as "Scream", by one of the great geniuses of this genre, Wes Craven, who with this film revived this genre. in the nineties, when this film was released in 1996 and its success catapulted it to the top of the box office. With this tape a new generation of moviegoers was born who found in Scream and its subsequent sagas, a refuge for this new style of slasher murderer.

Ghostface, was born as a response to a genre that after Halloween, Friday the 13th, came without having a great success that woke up fans of this genre and attracted new ones, to horror movies. One of the great successes and geniuses of Scream was that it made fun of the clichés that we always see in this type of film, such as: that the virgin and innocent girl was always saved, that the murders occurred at parties and when the victims were drunk or about to have sex. These are just some of those who in this movie called it as the rules to survive against a murderer.

These clichés and the combination of humor with suspense, were in my opinion what made this movie and its character great. I remember that when I saw this tape for the first time with my friends, the whole time we were debating who would be the murderer and the surprise to discover who they were left us absolutely amazed. The tape cleverly made you participate indirectly in the plot in a way that you didn't even realize when you were guessing who the murderer in the mask was, because it could be anyone.

Today, at the age of 26 since “Scream” was released, it is an icon and reference in horror cinema. His mask is one of the most used by children and adults on Halloween night and all the sagas are broadcast on TV for those of us who stay at home. In my country, this holiday has only been celebrated in clubs, schools and private parties for 20 years. When I was a child we didn't celebrate it, only as an adult it has been used to attract customers to clubs and hold nightly events. I think we've been embracing this holiday for the last 20 years and for kids it's a good excuse to dress up twice a year for Carnival and Halloween and trick-or-treat.

Scream, for me, is one of my favorite movies and I love taking advantage of the fact that streaming channels do marathons of its sagas, as well as Halloween, among others, which I always watch on these dates, along with the new films they offer. This 31st I must confess, that it will be the first time that I go out to celebrate this party formally, because I will take my 9-year-old niece to a party with her friends, she will dress up as a princess, I don't know if it will be the right costume, but it is what She loves it as well as her friends, so it's a pink Halloween I think, I imagine very different from what is customary in the USA, but I know they will have fun and then when I return I will see my horror marathons.
