Hello friends, I bring you a movie that I loved, because it awakened my childhood memories, for those of us who grew up in the 80s, this movie takes us to this time where electronic technology began to be available to everyone, where video games and consoles began to appear and become popular like Nintendo, Atari, Sega among others.

8-Bit Christmas is a children's film starring Winslow Fegley and June Raphael. Directed by Michel Dowse and written by Kevin Jakubowski. The movie is about a boy calling Jake Doyle (Winslow), who is desperate to get a Nintendo (NES), the latest hot toy, along with his friends who are obsessed with owning it and spending time with his wealthy friend that he already owns. one, despite how obnoxious this boy is.

Jake as an adult (Neil Patrick Harris), tells his daughter, who also wants the latest in technology and fashion (a cell phone), his adventures that Christmas, obviously for his daughter this is not very credible, but the manner and performance of Harris make these moments in the movie funny and extraordinary.

I will not spoil you so that you can see it, but this movie reminds me of “Christmas Story”, it shows us that the important thing about Christmas in the family union, not the material things you receive, is to create memories, anecdotes that last forever and that new generations of family members listen to them, have fun and learn from them. One of the things that I liked about the film is that it highlights the way of being at that time, where we were not so delicate and that we were more honest in the way of speaking and feeling, no, we cared what was politically correct.
No haré spoiler para que la vean, pero esta película me recuerda a “Historia de Navidad”, nos muestra que lo importante de la navidad en la unión familiar, no las cosas materiales que recibes, es crear recuerdos, anécdotas que perduren por siempre y que nuevas generaciones de familiares las escuchen, se diviertan y aprendan de ellas. Una de las cosas que me gustó de la película es que resalta la forma de ser de entonces, en donde no éramos tan delicados y que éramos más honestos en la forma de hablar y sentir, no, nos importaba lo que fuera políticamente correcto.
For those of us who grew up in the 80s, seeing this movie will be a journey of nostalgia, mischief and moving moments that will move our memories to a wonderful time, our childhood, perhaps that is why I consider it a great movie and I admit perhaps that I am partial to it. That seeing it woke up in me, so I invite you to see it and tell me how you like it. I'm giving it a 9 out of 10 because my memories don't allow me to be unbiased.
Para los que crecimos en los 80s ver esta película será un viaje de nostalgia, travesuras y momentos conmovedores que moverán nuestros recuerdos a una época maravillosa, nuestra niñez, tal vez por ello considero que es una gran película y admito quizás que estoy parcialidad por lo que verla despertó en mí, por ello te invito a verla y que me cuentes que te parecido. Le doy 9 de 10 porque mis recuerdos no me permiten ser imparcial.
