This film is directed and written by Julio Quintana and features renowned actors such as Dennis Quaid (Captain Wade), Jimmy González (Omar), Raymon Cruz (Héctor) and other great Mexican American actors. Despite telling an inspiring story of overcoming and achieving the unexpected (winning the tournament), this film continues to be, a little more of the same. In my opinion, the arguments lack substance and the characters' strength, but that does not mean it stops being an entertaining movie if you want to hang out, because it has its good moments and scenes.
Esta cinta esta dirigida y escrita por Julio Quintana y cuenta con actores de renombre como Dennis Quaid (capitán Wade), Jimmy González (Omar), Raymon Cruz (Héctor) y otros grandes actores mexicanos americanos. A pesar de contar una historia inspiradora de superación y de lograr lo impensado (ganar el torneo), está cinta no deja de ser, un poco más de lo mismo. En mi opinión le falto sustancia a los argumentos y fuerza a los personajes, pero no por ello deja de ser una película entretenida si quieres pasar el rato, porque tiene sus buenos momentos y escenas.
To be a story that is set in the Cape of Mexico, almost the characters do not speak in Spanish and the little they do, they do it wrong, it is understood that to give it greater diffusion within the Anglo market that hates reading subtitles, do not do it, but this detracts from the originality of the film, in my personal opinion.
Para ser una historia que se sitúa en el Cabo de México, casi los personajes no hablan en español y lo poco que lo hacen, lo hacen mal, se entiende que para darle mayor difusión dentro del mercado anglo que odia leer subtítulos no lo hagan, pero esto le resta originalidad a la película, en mi criterio personal.
The film is predictable, you know what comes when you start to see it, but you expect more by having great actors and knowing that, although it is based on real events, it will always have a dramatic, action or comic touch that catches the viewer, here I did not feel that and that's why I didn't like it at all. If we see it with the eyes of not expecting great surprises, if not, of telling an extraordinary event by a group of people to achieve a common good then you will like this movie.
La cinta es predecible ya sabes lo que viene cuando la comienzas a ver, pero esperas más al tener grandes actores y sabiendo que, aunque se base en hechos reales siempre tendrá un toque dramático, de acción o cómico que atrape al espectador, acá no sentí eso y por eso no me gusto del todo. Si la vemos con ojos de no esperar grandes sorpresas si no, el de contar un hecho extraordinario por un grupo de personas para alcanzar un bien común entonces está película te gustará.
I leave the decision to see it or not to you, but within my scale I would give it a 6 out of 10, for the story, the actors and the monochrome photography that the director knows how to place in each scene giving a special touch to the scenes. Here is the trailer for you to enjoy.
