Hello friends, welcome to my blog, you have just seen a film by J. Blakeson himself of film successes such as The Descent, La Quinta Ola and others. This filmmaker has gone through different genres and this time he ventures into black comedy with this film. With a Netflix production starring one of the best actresses in my personal opinion such as Rosamund Pike, Mexican actress Eiza González, Dianne Wiest and Peter Dinklage, this film made me excited to see and make no mistake, I loved the film.
Hola amigos bien bienvenidos a mi blog, acabó de ver una película de J. Blakeson el mismo de éxitos cinematográficos como The Descent, La Quinta Ola y otros. Este cineasta a pasado por diferentes géneros y esta vez incursiona en la comedia negra con esta cinta. Con una producción de Netflix protagonizada por una de las mejores actrices en mi opinión personal como Rosamund Pike, la actriz mexicana Eiza González, Dianne Wiest y Peter Dinklage, este film me entusiasmaba para ver y no me equivoque, la cinta me ha encantado.
The film is about two professional scammers who are in charge of taking care of elderly people (Retired), alone, who due to some illness cannot take care of themselves and who do not have children or their children do not take care of them. Marla Grayson (Pike), is a strong, cunning woman who has no scruples when it comes to benefiting from others.
La película trata de dos estafadoras profesionales que se encargan de cuidar a personas mayores (Jubiladas), solas, que por alguna enfermedad, no puedan valerse por ellas mismas, que no tengan hijos o sus hijos no se ocupen de ellos. Marla Grayson (Pike), es una mujer fuerte, astuta que no tiene escrúpulos a la hora de beneficiarse de los demás.
After taking advantage of hundreds of retirees, they see Jennifer Peterson (Weist), as the new victim, not knowing that his supposed golden goose is not what it seems. Marla and Fran (Eiza) after investigating they realize that they have ruined the plans of a dangerous criminal (Dinklage). Here begins a series of situations that could put the lives of scammers at risk.
Luego de haberse aprovechado de cientos de jubilados, ven a Jennifer Peterson (Weist), como la nueva víctima, sin saber que su supuesta gallina de oro no es lo que parece. Marla y Fran (Eiza) luego de investigar se dan cuenta que han arruinado los planes de un peligroso criminal (Dinklage). Acá comienza unas series de situaciones que podrán en riesgo la vida de las estafadoras.
The film keeps you on edge with its arguments, but it is also a strong criticism of the dysfunctional health systems of the American system. The satire it presents and its unscrupulous protagonists, together with a solid plot make the viewer unable to stop seeing it. Pike's solid performance, in her strong, fierce, perverse, but at the same time irresistible character, it makes you think about being on the side of this kind of antiheroine.
La cinta te mantiene al vilo con sus argumentos, pero también es una fuerte crítica a los disfuncionales sistemas de salud del sistema americano. La sátira que presenta y sus protagonistas sin escrúpulos, junto con un solido argumento hacen que el espectador no pueda dejar de verla. La solida actuación de Pike, en su personaje fuerte, feroz, perverso, pero al mismo tiempo irresistible, te hace pensar en es estar de parte de esta especie de antiheroina.
The truth is that on the one hand you love the character and on the other you hate him for his lack of ethics and greed, but no matter which side you are on, you cannot stop seeing her. The film has left me a lot of questions about to what extent a society that claims to take care of its elderly, does it? And to what extent society is indifferent to what happens... For me this film is worth seeing and I invite you to do it.
Lo cierto es que por un lado amas al personaje y por el otro lo odias por su falta de ética y codicia, pero sin importar de que lado estas, no puedes dejar de verla. La cinta me ha dejado un montón de interrogantes de hasta que punto una sociedad que dice cuidar a sus ancianos, ¿lo hace? Y hasta que punto la sociedad es indiferente a lo que pasa… Para mi este film vale la pena verlo y te invito a hacerlo.
