Hello friends, welcome to my blog, as I have said on other occasions, I love movies based on real events, because sometimes they go beyond reality and in search of this type of movies I found a Danish movie, which talked about the relationship between famous writer Baroness Karen Blixen, who became famous with her autobiographical book, “Out of Africa”, using the pseudonym Isak Dinesen, with the poet Thorkild Bjornvig. The film is called The Pact (Pagten), based on the homonymous book by Thorkild, who will tell how he met the writer and the impact it had on his life when he was barely 29 years old and beginning his career as a writer.
Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, como he dicho en otras ocasiones me encantan las películas basadas en hecho reales, porque a veces superan la realidad y en busca de ese tipo de películas me encontré una película danesa, que hablaba de la relación de la famosa escritora Baronesa Karen Blixen, quien se hizo famosa con su libro autobiográfico, “Memorias de África”, usando el seudónimo era Isak Dinesen, con el poeta Thorkild Bjornvig. La cinta se llama El Pacto (Pagten), basado en el libro homónimo de Thorkild, quien contara como conoció a la escritora y el impacto que fue en su vida cuando contaba a penas con 29 años y comenzaba su carrera como escritor.

Cierro paréntesis y volvamos a nuestra película “El Pacto”. La cinta trata como Karen luego de su éxito como escritora, regresa a Dinamarca y se habla de que quizás se gane un Novel en literatura por sus novelas, su fama hace que se mueva en los círculos culturales más importante de Europa y su influencia es reconocida, con 63 años se podía decir que lo tenía casi todo. Se entera que un escritor esta escribiendo una biografía no autorizada de ella y es cuando por recomendación de una amiga decide conocer a un poeta y escritor con talento de nombre Thorkild Bjornving.
Karen summons him to her house to propose that he be the one to write his biography, but he must hurry and do it before the other one comes out, because she would help him to potential his career and become the writer she sees in him. In exchange Karen offers him a pact in which she will always be there for him and will come to her whenever he needs her regardless of her, but in return he must trust her and do what she tells him. Thorkild accepts this unusual treatment and here begins a series of situations that will turn Thorkild's life into a sea of doubts and decisions that will affect his personal life. The film is set in the late forties when society, values and customs were puritanical. Thorkild was naive and manipulable, so Karen used mind games to do whatever she wanted.
Karen lo cita a su casa para proponerle que sea él quien escriba su biografía, pero debe apresurarse y hacerlo antes que salga la otra, que ella lo ayudaría a potencial su carrera y convertirse en el escritor que ella ve en él. A cambio Karen le ofrece un pacto en el cual ella estará siempre para él y acudirá siempre que la necesite sin importar nada, pero en retorno el debe confiar en ella y hacer lo que le indique. Thorkild acepta ese inusual trato y acá comienza una serie de situaciones que convertirán la vida de Thorkild en un mar de dudas y decisiones que afectarán su vida personal. La cinta se sitúa a finales de los años cuarenta cuando la sociedad, los valores y costumbres eran puritanos. Thorkild era ingenuo y manipulable, por lo que Karen se aprovecho para usar juegos mentales para hacer lo que quisiera.
Directed by Billie August, with a cast of extraordinary actors such as: Nanna Skaarup, Asta Kamma, Anders Heinrichsen, Marie Mondrup, Kurt Dreyer, among others. This Danish film is worth watching, it shows us how the search for success can lead us down the wrong paths and how bad influences and letting ourselves be carried away by them can end our personal relationships. If you decide to see it, do it with an open mind and placing yourself in that time. For me it is a good film, it is not extraordinary, but it does introduce us to one of the great writers of her time from the real point of view of someone who suffered and did not know how to channel that pain in the best way.
Dirigida por Billie August, con un reparto de actores extraordinarios como: Nanna Skaarup, Asta Kamma, Anders Heinrichsen, Marie Mondrup, Kurt Dreyer, entre otros. Esta cinta danesa vale la pena ver, nos muestra como la búsqueda por alcanzar el éxito puede llevarnos por caminos equivocados y como las malas influencias y dejarnos llevar por ellas, pueden acabar con nuestras relaciones personales. Si decides verla hazlo con mente abierta y situándote en esa época. Para mi es una buena película no es extraordinaria, pero si nos da a conocer a una de las grandes escritoras de su tiempo desde una óptica real de alguien que sufrió y no supo canalizar ese dolor de la mejor forma.
