The House of Gucci is a film that gives us a glimpse of what was one of the most important families in Italy and who for decades was one of the most influential and exclusive brands in fashion design, managed by a family.
Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, muchas veces pensamos que el cine supera la realidad, pero en ciertas ocasiones no es así y esta es una de esas ocasiones en donde la complejidad humana da más importancia por lo superficial de la fama, el apellido y el dinero, que por la vida misma. La Casa Gucci es una película que nos da un vistazo a lo que fue una de las familias más importante de Italia y quién por décadas fuera una de las marcas más influyente y exclusivas de diseño de moda, administrada por una familia.

This film tells us the story of the grandson of the founder of the House of Gucci, Maurizio Gucci, and his relationship with Patrizia Reggiani, the mother of his two daughters and who was the director and leading successor of the House of Gucci.

It is a story based on the novel by Sara Gay Forden, inspired by real events of the same name in the film, it portrays the life of this family and how their bad decisions, conflicts, personal ambitions, excesses and luxuries led them to lose their largest fashion company in the world in the 90's. Today no member of the family is part of the business that bears his name.
Es una historia basada en la novela de Sara Gay Forden, inspirada en hechos reales del mismo nombre de la película, está nos retrata la vida de esta familia y como sus malas decisiones, conflictos, ambiciones personales, excesos y lujos los llevaron a perder la mayor empresa de moda del mundo en los años 90´s. Hoy ningún miembro de la familia forma parte del negocio que lleva su apellido.
The tape tells us how the relationship between Patrizia and Maurizio Gucci, grandson of the founder of the Gucci brand, begins. Patrizia (Gaga) a working class girl, with little culture and education, in contrast to Maurizio (Driver) an educated, shy young man and law student with a bright and prosperous future. Her love and how despite her father's opposition for considering her a fortune hunter, it costs Maurizio (Driver), that her father almost disinherited him for a while. Her relationship with her uncle Aldo (Pacino), the man who saw the potential for him to be the successor and leader of the company.
La cinta nos cuenta como comienza la relación de Patrizia y Maurizio Gucci, nieto del fundador de la marca Gucci. Patrizia (Gaga) una chica de clase obrera, de poca cultura y educación, en contraste a Maurizio (Driver) un joven educado, tímido y estudiante de derecho con un futuro brillante y próspero. Su amor y cómo a pesar de la oposición de su padre por considerarla una caza fortuna, le cuesta a Maurizio (Driver), que su padre casi lo desheredara por un tiempo. Su relación con su tío Aldo (Pacino), el hombre que vio el potencial para que fuera el sucesor y líder de la empresa.
We will see how Patrizia's ambition to belong to that luxury and prestige will lead her to convince her husband to act against her family, which will unleash a series of events that will ultimately lead the company to collapse. All these intrigues, manipulations over the years will deteriorate the marriage to the point that Maurizio divorced Patrizia, unleashing her anger and despair that led Patrizia along with her personal clairvoyant to hire a hit man to murder her ex-husband .
Veremos como la ambición de Patrizia por pertenecer a ese lujo y prestigio, la llevara a convencer a su esposo actuar en contra de su familia, lo que desatará unas series de hechos que serán lo que al final lleven la empresa al colapso. Todas estas intrigas, manipulaciones con los años irán deteriorando el matrimonio al punto que Maurizio se divorciara de Patrizia, desatando su ira y desesperación que llevaron a Patrizia junto con su vidente personal a contratar un sicario para asesinar a su exesposo.
Despite the fact that this film had an extraordinary cast of actors, in my opinion it lacks depth in the theme and I think that some characters like Paolo Gucci's (Leto), seem overacted, lacking credibility to the character. At times the film has magnificent scenes, but when you see it in its entirety you feel that something is missing, that I am not convinced that it did not make it to what could have been a great movie but only they would have given the subplots more strength in their characters , it feels like there are a lot of holes in the story. Despite this, the film showed us how a family, no matter how rich and powerful it may be, if it does not work as a unit and leaves the management of the company to capable people who manage it, whether they are family or not, it will inevitably sink.
Esta cinta a pesar de que conto un reparto extraordinario de actores, en mi opinión le falto profundidad en el tema y creo que algunos personajes como el de Paolo Gucci (Leto), parecen sobreactuados, faltándole credibilidad al personaje. Por momentos la cinta tiene escenas magnificas, pero sientes al verla en su totalidad que le falto algo, que no termino de convencer que no llego a lo que pudo ser una gran película sino tan solo les hubieran dado a las subtramas más fuerza en sus personajes, se siente que hay muchos huecos en la historia. A pesar de ello la cinta nos mostro como una familia por muy rica y poderosa que sea sino no trabaja unidad y deja el manejo de la empresa a personas capaces que la manejen sean o no familia, está irremediablemente se hundirá.
For me, this film disappointed me, because it expected much more from a story that we already knew from the press and the scandal that it generated in its time. This film shows us that, if it had not had the cast it had, the budget to give us in a sumptuous and real way the exclusive production design of Gucci brand costumes and the scenarios of the time, it would not be worth seeing. In my opinion, saving some moments and perhaps winning an award for costumes, I rate it a 6 out of 10.
Para mi esta película me decepciono, porque espera mucho más de una historia que ya conocíamos por la prensa y el escándalo que género en su tiempo. Esta cinta nos demuestra que, si no hubiese contado con el reparto que tuvo, el presupuesto para darnos de manera suntuosa y real el exclusivo diseño de producción de vestuario de la marca Gucci y los escenarios de la época, no valdría la pena verla. En mi opinión salvando algunos momentos y que quizás gane algún premio por vestuario, la califico en un 6 de 10.
