This is one of the K-dramas I waited for after its announcement, and I started watching it when 14 episodes were available, that is, I should only wait a week for the remaining 2; since it has 16, you know, I wanted to avoid the stress caused by the intrigue of each episode! Afortunadamente, tomé una buena decisión, no quería vivir el mismo sentimiento que me sucedió con Vincenzo. Esta última serie también fue con el protagónico del actor Song Joong-ki, y la reseñé hace un tiempo por acá.
To be exact I was captivated by the plot, it is something, which had not been seen in a k-drama and I could say that it can become the best of the year 2022. The series has a deep critique, very solid plots and a lot of elements that connect, however, there are also derivative points that I have about it.

I can say that each chapter has an attractive setting, first we are in 2022 and then we see a twist to the 80's of the twentieth century, to that Korea where the dominance of large conglomerates prevailed, that is, monopolies everywhere. One of the things that captivated me was the first chapter, it has that dramatic and involving change where you wonder: is it true, is it true or is it just a mental lie? Those questions are inherent with the intrigue and context of the situation.
Puedo decir que cada capítulo posee una configuración atractiva, primero estamos en 2022 y luego vemos un giro a la década de los 80 del siglo XX, a ese corea donde el dominio por parte de los grandes conglomerados imperaba, es decir, monopolios por todos lados. Una de las cosas que me cautivó fue el primer capítulo, posee ese cambio dramático y envolvente donde te preguntas: ¿es cierto, es verdad o es una simple mentira mental? Esas interrogantes son inherentes con la propia intriga y contexto de la situación.
But... something I have to point out is my view on Song Joong-ki's dual way of acting in his two characters: Yoon Hyun Woo, who is like a simple and exclusive butler; as well as an executive of Soonyang Conglomerate Group. This role may be insignificant at first, but it is actually the one that defines the plot completely; as this butler is the one who goes back to the past after the betrayal by one of the owners of the big conglomerate, one bullet is enough to put the life of this man in one of the members of the prestigious family!
Pero… algo que debo precisar es mi visión en la forma dual de actuación de Song Joong-ki, en sus dos personajes: Yoon Hyun Woo, que es como un simple y exclusivo mayordomo; así como también ejecutivo del grupo Soonyang Conglomerate. Este papel puede que al principio sea insignificante, pero en realidad es el que define la trama por completo; ya que ese mayordomo es el que regresa al pasado luego de la traición por parte de alguien de los dueños del gran conglomerado, ¡un balazo es suficiente para poner la vida de este hombre en uno de los miembros de la prestigiosa familia!
Who is that member? Explicitly: Jin Do Joon the second character of Song Joong-ki, but with the soul and memories of our miserable butler. That part is very intriguing, because I think it makes JTBC's k-drama plot relevant, it's something, which is not often seen and also plays with several interesting contexts in the story itself.

Jin Yang Cheol, is the founder of Soonyang, but more than that, his character is admirable and also reprehensible. What is the reason for this position? I think this character is one of the most captivating, a powerful old man, with strong desires to surpass the big economies of Asia and the US, build an empire and resist the various economic scenarios that put South Korea in complaint in that period.
Jin Yang Cheol, es el fundador de Soonyang, pero más lejos de eso, su personaje es admirable y también reprochable. ¿Cuál es la razón de esta posición? I think I felt a lot of inclination for this character, as he was a man who had nothing, he was a farmer and managed to build a giant, however, that giant stole his perceptual clarity and at the last moment he discovered that his children were not enough to continue his legacy. I was totally enveloped to see his power, his temperament and vision of doing business, as well as that moment where the flame of his life was running out.
Creo que sentí, mucha inclinación por este personaje; ya que era un hombre que no tenía nada, era un agricultor y logró construir un gigante, no obstante, ese gigante le robó la claridad perceptual y al último momento descubrió que sus hijos no eran suficientes para seguir su legado. One of the issues that are really interesting in the story is the duality of the eras, I have recently seen this deep inclination to go back to the 20th century and tell a small part of South Korean history; although in reality this k-drama is an adaptation of a novel. This possibility nuances and appeals to the audience. Another aspect is that vision of the scenery, the music and the tones of the images, what about this? There's a kind of a backlash, the images look a bit dark and as the years go by sequentially they become lighter, it's really involving! I think the brain is drawn to that pale and light sequence as the story unfolds.

Uno de los claros mensajes que me llevo de la trama es que no podemos forzar el tiempo y lo que ya ocurrió, incluso puede que sea nuestra mente la que nos mienta y juegue de manera sorpresiva con nosotros, o sencillamente todo se convierta en una simple forma entrelazada de nuestros pensamientos. La vida es el principio y el perecimiento es el final, comprenderlo implica incluso dejar en aquellos que no poseen las cualidades lo que se ha construido, es decir, dependerá de ellos y de los propios escenarios que se vislumbren poco a poco enfrentar la realidad de la vida.
I would have liked to see in this plot the warm development of the romance between Jin Do Joon, and Seo Min Young (Shin Hyun Bin), a wonderful and worthy prosecutor. The story leaves the response of the two of them completely open-ended; although it is not the main plot, it is one of those that weave the story.
Me hubiera gustado ver en esta trama el desarrollo de forma cálida del romance entre Jin Do Joon, y Seo Min Young (Shin Hyun Bin), una maravillosa y digna fiscal.
