Esta es la secuela estrenada a finales de 2021, de la película animada de 2016 titulada originalmente Sing, que en Latinoamérica se llamó Sing: ¡Ven y canta! y en España simplemente Canta. Ambas son musicales con historias bastante genéricas y simples, aunque esta segunda parte es mucho más ambiciosa en todo sentido, ya que sus personajes, que por cierto son todos animales antropomórficos de diferentes especies, tienen la misión de alcanzar el éxito a una escala mucho mayor que la de la cinta anterior, donde todo se desarrollaba dentro de un pequeño pueblo llamado Calatonia y en función del esfuerzo emprendido por el protagonista principal por rescatar la grandeza del teatro que heredó de su padre; ahora este koala de nombre Buster Moon junto al elenco de su show, viajará a Redshore City (una ciudad ficticia equivalente a Las Vegas) para presentar su espectáculo ante la elite del entretenimiento musical y teatral de ese mundo.
Debo decir que no soy muy fanático de los musicales, sin embargo, este me gustó mucho, tanto la primera película como esta segunda entrega. Creo que, ambas son recopilaciones de pequeñas historias que perfectamente pueden calificarse como clichés dentro de lo que son las producciones cinematográficas, que cuentan las vivencias de personajes relacionados con la música y la farándula, por ejemplo: el joven cuyo padre espera que su hijo siga sus pasos, pero este desea tomar otro camino y dedicar su vida a los escenarios; el novato pueblerino y talentoso que debe luchar contra el trato abusivo de un profesor que lo desprecia o la ajetreada ama de casa que debe escapar de la rutina, para perseguir su sueño de ser artista.
Sin embargo, me parece que la forma en que se muestra un poco de cada una de las historias individuales, aunque no se entrelazan demasiado, sino que avanzan en paralelo y contribuyen por separado al logro de un objetivo común, le da un aire fresco y dinámico a la trama. Definitivamente en ambos casos se trata de una historia simple y no muy original, pero bastante bien ejecutada, además tener un protagonismo coral en el que distintos personajes relativamente entrañables presentan sus diferentes subtramas, las hace bastante entretenidas, pese a la linealidad y predecibilidad de los relatos que constituyen a estas dos películas. Sing: ¡Ven y canta! (la primera de ellas) fue sencilla y minimalista narrativamente, pero un montaje musical plagado de grandes éxitos y una bonita animación fueron suficientes para sustentar el éxito del largometraje, que recaudó más de 600 millones de dólares y recibió críticas positivas.

I must say that I am not a big fan of musicals, however, I really liked this one, both the first movie and this second installment. I believe that both are compilations of small stories that can perfectly be described as clichés within what are film productions, which tell the experiences of characters related to music and entertainment, for example: the young man whose father hopes that his son will follow his steps, but he wants to take another path and dedicate his life to the stage; the talented small-town rookie who must fight against the abusive treatment of a teacher who despises him or the busy housewife who must escape the routine, to pursue her dream of being an artist.
However, I find that the way a bit of each of the individual stories is shown, even though they are not intertwined too much, but instead proceed in parallel and contribute separately to the achievement of a common goal, gives it a fresh and dynamic to the plot. Definitely in both cases it is a simple story and not very original, but quite well executed, in addition to having a choral role in which different relatively endearing characters present their different subplots, makes them quite entertaining, despite the linearity and predictability of the plots. stories that make up these two films. Sing: Come and sing! (the first one) was simple and narratively minimalist, but a musical montage full of greatest hits and beautiful animation were enough to sustain the success of the feature film, which grossed more than 600 million dollars and received positive reviews.
Por su parte, Sing 2: ¡Ven y canta de nuevo! como ya mencioné antes, tiene una mayor escala, en esta secuela el grupo de artistas que consiguió el éxito local durante la primera entrega, expande sus horizontes y se en barca en una aventura por alcanzar el reconocimiento entre las más grandes estrellas del ámbito musical. Pero, aunque la magnitud del desafío es mayor y la trama incluye la necesidad de convencer y unir al show a un personaje aclamado por el público, que se ha retirado de los escenarios desde hace mucho tiempo, así como también incorpora a un villano corporativo bastante convincente que les agrega tensión a los hechos, la historia continúa siendo simple y predecible, solo que nuevamente la espectacularidad visual y musical (que ahora es aún mayor), carga sobre sus hombros cualquier carencia que pueda presentar la trama, de modo que esta saga lo vuelve a hacer, proporcionándonos una experiencia muy grata, tan solo contándonos las mismas historias que ya conocemos con una fórmula que prioriza la estética y el ritmo sobre la originalidad argumental.
Quienes buscan historias elaboradas e innovadoras seguramente dirán y con razón, que esta es una película promedio, que no llega a ser mala, pero que no se puede catalogar tampoco de buena, debido a que está llena de plantillas argumentales o historias preconcebidas y que jamás se le puede comparar por ejemplo con una obra como Soul de Disney. Pero, a mi parecer si lo que buscamos es puro entretenimiento y carisma en una película tierna de animalitos, esta nos ofrece todo lo que podemos desear, de modo que mi calificación para Sing es de 8,5 de 10. Espero que, si aún no la has visto, tengas pronto la oportunidad de verla en familia y seguramente te será mucho más entretenida que otras con historias más significativas e ingeniosas.

But, although the magnitude of the challenge is greater and the plot includes the need to convince and join the show to a character acclaimed by the public, who has retired from the stage for a long time, as well as incorporating a corporate villain quite convincing that adds tension to the facts, the story continues to be simple and predictable, only once again the visual and musical spectacularity (which is now even greater), loads on its shoulders any lack that the plot may present, so that this saga He does it again, providing us with a very pleasant experience, just telling us the same stories that we already know with a formula that prioritizes aesthetics and rhythm over plot originality.
Those who seek elaborate and innovative stories will surely say, and rightly so, that this is an average movie, which is not bad, but cannot be classified as good either, because it is full of plot templates or preconceived stories and that it will never It can be compared, for example, with a work like Disney's Soul. But, in my opinion, if what we are looking for is pure entertainment and charisma in a cute animal movie, this one offers us everything we could want, so my rating for Sing is 8.5 out of 10.
