A cure for wellness is a beautiful disaster....... The movie is about.. I don't know what exactly is about as Verbinski failed to produce a star or a definite person to focus on. Well, the story is simple, Lockhart is a young ambitious executive in an unnamed company, he success is widespread in the company. He bagged himself a large office and a high reputation but unfortunately for him, his bosses knew his dirty deals so they made a deal with him. The Ceo, Pembruke however went on a leave in a wellness center at a remote location in Swiss Apls. He sent a handwritten letter that suggests he has lost his mind. The company is in the middle of a merge and Pembroke is needed to sign off. They are also under investigation by the SEC, so they want Pembroke back in hope that he would take responsibility. Lockhart is sent to retrieve Pembroke in exchange of the security of his job. To Lockhart, that's an easy job, easier than convincing an investor to invest in the company. What could possibly go wrong in the luxurious beautiful spa with a water that can cure any type of sickness. The patients don't want to leave and Lockhart's accident is the beginning of his misfortune. Lockhart became trapped as he gives in to the doctors treatment, and his sanity became questioned.

A cure for wellness is 4/10 You know that feeling you get when you see a beautifully garnished meal, and you start salivating, only for you to have a taste and it's just sour? That's exactly how I felt with a cure for wellness, it is a perfect description of the popular don't judge a book by it's cover adage. The movie started well, with a compelling story of an upcoming wall street executive, but Verbinski failed to keep our attention fixed as a result of it's boring sub plots. It is awfully long, running for over 2hrs, what began as a suspenseful mystery ended up being a horror. A cure for wellness is a beautiful work of art, its visuals and cinematography are impeccable, it's a show of extravagance making the movie look expensive. The end is an awful betrayal, after sitting through the movie painfully hoping that the end will at least sooth the pain, I get served with a pot of soured food!. Really, Verbinski was trying so hard to maintain the suspense in the movie but ended up making a mess of it. At the end of it all, the sanatarium became the star of the movie, because at least it is the only beautiful thing in the movie, if not for anything I found consolation watching it's beauty and magnificence.
