Chucky is back with another bloodbath!! For those that have never watched any of Chucky's movie, let me do a little explanation. Charles Lee Ray, nicknamed Chucky, Is a serial killer in the 80's, he was killed in a toy shop and his spirit transferred to a doll. So whenever the doll was bought and put in a home, it starts killing people. Cult of Chucky is the 7th part of the movie and in this part Chucky came back to finish of his victims from the previous movies.

Andy(Alex Vincent), one of Chucky's survivor is now grown up and unable to keep a relationship because of his troubled past (Chucky killing everyone in his life). His only companion is the head of the original chucky doll.

Meanwhile Nica(Fiona Dourif) another survivor was placed in an asylum in the past four years. She was transferred to another asylum with maximum security. She quickly made friends with her fellow patients. During one of their sessions, one of the patients told Nica that chucky called her and said he will be coming for her. The doctor Dr. Foley(Michael Therriault) decided to buy a brand new chucky doll to help Nica get over the past but one of the patients Madeleine (Elizabeth Rosen) who lost killed her own child decided to take up the doll as her child. Nica had a visitor, Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) claiming to be Alex's guardian, Alex is Nica's niece, apparantly Nica murdered her parents under the influence of Chucky in the previous part. Unknwowing to them, Tiffany is Chucky's wife in human flesh and she brought a new chucky doll as a gift from Alex to Nica.

That night Chucky started his killing spree, killing everyone around Nica, and he is not alone, he formed a cult using voodoo duplicating himself in many dolls. Meanwhile Andy, is doing everything to stop him.

POSITIVE ELEMENT Andy has lost so much and its obvious he didn't want people to go through the same, he tried so hard to get rid of Chucky, even when no one believed him, he didn't give up. I mean he could have just moved one but instead when he saw chucky and the murder news, he drove all the way to asylum to get rid of it. I think he is a true hero.

VIOLENT CONTENT Chucky stole a knife from one of the nurses and killed Angela, the woman that believed she is a ghost. Clara took one of the chucky to throw away and the doll bite her, the doctor taught she did it to herself and gave her an injection to keep her relaxed, leaving her alone with chucky. Chucky took a can of compressed oxygen and crashed it into a glass above her, the glass shattered on her, cutting of her head.

After Doctor Phily hypnotized Nica, chucky showed up behind him and broke a glass cup on his head.

Andy showed up in the asylum after he saw chucky and the murders in the news, he wanted to see the doctor and convince him that its the doll that caused the murders. When the security guy refused to let him in, he attacked him and was immediately admitted.

Magdalene strangled and buried one of the chucky dolls, it came back to life and killed her by pulling out her tongue.

Carlos(Zak Santiago) walked in on the three dolls talking and when he tried to escape, they attacked him and stabbed, drilled him till he died

The security guard was attacked by Valentina. She slit his throat with a knife and licked his blood.

Nica now possessed by chucky, smashed the doctor's head severally with her red shoe.

Nica walked in on Malcolm and Ashley's dead body. Malcolm claimed he killed Ashley to get credit from her. Chucky came up behind him and drilled his head, killing him.

One of the chucky dolls attacked Andy but Andy overpowered and killed it.

SPIRITUAL CONTENT A crazy woman Angela(Marina Stephenson Kerr) believed she is a ghost. One of the chucky dolls was seen reciting a magical word over the other doll and bringing it to life. There was a funeral and a priest was present.

SEXUAL CONTENT Nica arrived in the asylum and after having a conversation with Michael (Adam Hurtig), one of the patients, they have sex under the staircase. Nica was telling the doctor that Chucky killed the patients and he hypnotized her and kissed her. Nica now possessed as chucky met his wife Tiffany and they shared a kiss.

CRUDE/PROFANE LANGUAGE The f-word was used 13 times, the s-word was used 12 times, bitch was used 2 times, Jesus' name was abused once, Assholes was mentioned twice, the word hell was used 3 tines, crap was used once, holy shit was used once.

**ALCOHOL/DRUG ** Characters drink beer

OTHER NEGATIVE ELEMENTS The doctor is a very terrible person, he hypnotized Nika to make her accept the murder of Angela and Clara. It was revealed that he was having sexual intercouse with her during their sessions. Patients are dying under his care and he wanted to use their story to write a fictional story.

CONCLUSION This 30 year old franchise has certainly not lost their charm. It's not as great as it's predecessor, but it did have it's fun moments. Parents need to know that unlike child's play, this is a horror movie and not appropriate for kids. one of the things that Mancini did really well to help reinvigorate the franchise was put Chucky into a new context. Instead of straight slasher the film played more like a haunted house/home invasion horror. This brought a new angle to the deadly doll, and helped veer the character back to something scary. Cult of chucky is worth 91 minutes of your time, so have fun this weekend.

I will give cult of Chucky 6/10.
