I just spent 89 minutes of time watching a comedy movie with one of my favourite actors, Amanda Seyfried and a well known comedy actor, Tracy Morgan that didn't make me laugh.. In Fact i didn't even flinch.

The movie, The Clapper based on a book Eddie Krumble is the clapper, (i wonder if the book ever made bestseller, just wondering...) is about Eddie and his friend Chris who make a living off applauding products in Tv studios, they are professional audience members in infomercials. They go from one show to another, clapping at boring commercials, Eddie even makes more money when he asks intelligent questions. They are contented with their low lives and income.

The only exciting thing in Eddie's life is an animal loving local gas station attendant, Judy, whom he bonded with through a glass screen of her booth and a bad speaker. So far they are enjoying their cheap dates with no obstacle whatsoever. Then a late night TV show host spots Eddie in every audience of the infomercials, sometimes disguised with a moustache, he raised a campaign to search for him, Eddie's life becomes a national joke. This brought an uncomfortable fame for Eddie and his new found who is not acquainted to social life, and that becomes a threat to their relationship. Soon after, Judy's angry boss fired her and she left without a trace. Eddie was left with no choice but to give in to the drama and appear on Tv with the hope of finding his love...

If this was supposed to be comedy, it is not funny..I spent the entire 89 minutes shouting angrily at my screen instead of laughing, the only thing that attempted to be interesting is the love subplot, the Judy and Eddie thing. The story is not even good enough to make a movie on, it sounds more like a classroom or bedtime story.It started off interesting with colourful cinematography but later it failed to connect. It is filled with talented cast but it might turn out to be the worst movie in 2018, though it is too early to predict. It is not a successful comedy neither is it a successful romantic movie. Dito need to do better, i really hope he does.
